      Many of them were very loud way back in those days because they had been accustomed to working in silent films and whenever they saw a microphone they became very anxious and thought it necessary to scream into it to be heard.

      The voice was part of her shtick, to contrast her character with Harriet's more reserved demeanour. Some of her earlier roles employ a less loud voice, with a far less shrill tone.

      @@kosmokritikos9299 Wrong. I don't think none of the actors worked in Silent films. In fact most of the actors/actress who did the silent films were high pitched and it didn't sound to good. Silent films were from 1890's to 1920's.

      In those days it was considered normal as they lacked any sense of moral character then. By today's standards they would be considered promiscuous.

      @t-mar9275 Před 10 měsíci +3

      By definition promiscuity is frequent, indiscriminate sexual realtionships. There's nothing in the show to indicate that the Nelson boys were engaging in sexual realtionships, let alone indiscriminate ones. If anything the morals of the era were higher than today's standards.

      @@calvinjackson8110 David and Ricky Nelson were instrumental in establishing the TV stereotype for the 1950s, middle class, teenaged, "nice boy". The Wally Cleaver character was basically following in their footsteps, with some minor alterations.
