Not sure which magnets the Gan and Valk have, but my guess would be N35s. They feel strong because the plastic is thinner.
N50s in Yan3 and GTS. DO NOT put N35s in the Yan3. It's too weak. You want N50s in the Yan3.

Can you make a tutorial on magnetizing cubes? How do you take the corner piece apart on the Yan 3?
What size magnets should be used in the Yan 3? Would there be a considerable difference between 5mm x 2mm and 4mm x 2mm?

Ah, yeah, I think I mentioned that the Yan3 with magnets is completely different than the Yan3 because it improves the stability. I have my Yan3 on tight tensions, so that helps.

after tensioning( i use yelow springs) and lubing my gans air it is absolutely flawless no catching whatsoever, corner cutting is great definitely recommend this cube to anyone even though the price is high you get what you pay for.:)
ShengShou FangYuan? I like that one better than Valk, Gan Air, WeiLong GTS and Yan, assuming that all are unmagnetised.

The GTS is a more sluggish puzzle the way the cubicle lubes it. Mine that I made is not slow, but really fast. I also think the valk can sometimes be highly overrated
Can anyone recommend a modern 3x3 that's similar to the Maru CX-3? I just love the crunchy feeling of that cube and it's sad to see that all modern 3x3s are buttery smooth :/
Magnets aside, i may be the only one who likes the gans 356sv2 more than the gans air. Ive tried a whole bunch of setups with the air now but the end result is always the same with the air catching a lot more than my other cubes. I feel like im a bit of an outsider when it comes to the gan air and im a bit worried i might be missing out on something considering how much other cubers love the air in general
Rochan Sanga many many cubers don't really like the standard Air due to catching. The Air Ultimate, though, is amazing (similarly to the UM)
Do you have any ideas on putting softer springs in the Valk? The original ones are kinda long and in the shape of the cone. I'd like to switch them up for something softer but dunno which springs would be similar in length and shape.
I haven't tried since I don't really use the Valk3 anyway. Lemme know if you find something that works though!

I haven't practiced cubing in years and so i'm completely lost. I still have a guhong v2 as my main. Is there any new cubes that have a similar feel to it? Also what's the best 4x4 nowadays?
Seven Jr cuber said the weilong gts 2 has a guhong plus weilong plus Valk plus weilong gts feel. 4x4 is the wuque or yuxin blue with thunderclap springs
"outdated weilong gts" And here I am with my Aolong v1- v2 and a Gans 357. Moyu Aosu, Moyu AoChuang and a Aoshi 6x6 (Haveny cubed for 1-2 years).
Any suggestions on 3x3?? My favorite 3x3 s of all times are the Zhanchi and the Aolong v1, not a fan of Gans 357. Havent tried any of the new top cubes.

For some reason no one has discovered a Yan 3 M with Weilong GTS springs please try it its insanely good
I think the YueXiao is extremely underrated. Although mine's the best one I've ever felt, it is really fast (My YueXiao's speed ranges from that of an Aolong to that of a GTS, depending on the set up of course), corner cutting is really good at 60° forward and 25°-35° reverse, the feel, although not liked by many, is my favourite of all cubes (and can also be dampened with some Traxxas and breaking in) and lockups are much less frequent than those of a GTS.
I think the YueXiao is appropriately rated haha. It received a TON of hype when it was released. The cube is definitely good, which is why I had it as an easter egg in the video. I think it catches a bit more than say a Valk3 though.
So, I was just about to buy more magnets (I just went through 200 of N35's) and was looking to pick up some N50's... where are you getting yours from? The place I ordered the N35's from took like 2 months to arrive and I'd rather not wait that long.
I'm getting mine from SCS, but buying in bulk is obviously cheaper.

can anyone recommend a higher end cube with a feeling similar to the Kung Fu Longyuan? I recently got this cube because it was cheap and I'm an addict, and I love the scratchy, sandy feeling of it. I'm seriously considering this over my current main, a well broken in aolong v2.

What strength of magnets did you use for the different cubes? Do you happen to know (or can you estimate) what strength was used in the Air UM? Didn't you mention in a previous video that you felt like the magnets were a bit too strong in the Air UM?
supersmashbrojoe UM uses light magnets. Plastic is thin so it feels stronger. N35s for the Valk3 and N50s in everything else.

I meant weaker magnets. I'm not sure what Gan puts in there, but my guess would be 4x2 N35s. Just a guess though, don't quote me on it.

I don't know why everyone likes the GANS Air so much. I really hate it when using it... I'm more a fan of the weilong GTS. Should I try to put more effort in lubing it or is it just personal preference?
Tom van Loon 2 reasons. 1.Gans is strongly carried by the gan gurus and Feliks. 2. Yeah personal preference.
Alright, I'm gonna try out the new weilong GTS2 soon, might be more my style.

gans air is definitely my number 1 the valk is num 2 i like Mslices more on valk then gans but the turning and consistant times really go to gans

I've noticed that none of your cubes make that horrible spring squeaking noise. I've tried tensioning and lubrication, but it didn't help. Maybe we could have a video on how to properly fix that?
I think it's mostly just a luck thing. I've had that in the past, but not these cubes. When you lubed it, did you lube the spring inside the center piece? That's what causes the squeaking. Make sure to lube both the top and bottom ends of the spring.
cyoubx Yeah. I individually lubed and tensioned each spring on each face, flipping the washers to see which way caused the worst noise. It helped, but got worse again as time went on. It's primarily on my Weilong and Weilong v2. Maybe it's a problem on older Moyu cubes?

my problem with the gans air is that after 50-60 solves it got bad, i mean really bad. the cube feels sticky and hard to turn. i cleaned it relubed it even under the springs and it is still very sticky, cornercutting is around 45 degrees which should be better and i dont know what to do anymore. i dont enjoy solving this cube at all.
I've done like 500 solves on mine and it has only gotten better :O
yeah i dont know why... when i dont touch the cube for like 2 days and then i start to solve it the first few solves are ok and then it is getting worse the more solves i do. kinda like the plastic is getting warmer and that causes the higher friction. it is the only way i can explain this weird behavior :/
CamRi You probably got a defected one, or something is damaging it, did you lube it with cubing lube? Some things like WD-40 can totally mess up your cube so bad that it becomes crap
Dante Delgadillo i havent put wd40 inside i used traxx lube (if that name is correct) like is use for all my cubes im just glad i have my valk m and gts m (both selfmade) and they work perfect :D

If you don't want to magnetize, YueXiao is slightly better. Both are good cubes though.

EonGX Probably the Valk because it uses weaker magnets due to thinner plastic. Gans and GTS are pretty strong magnets and you can definitely notice the click to place. Of course you can put magnets by yourself, chose weaker ones to get better feeling cube instead of buying one and bring disappointed. Cheers.

John Albright I put a VERY small amount of weight two silicone lube from the cubicle in it.
Use lighter springs and thinner lube.

What's wrong with it now? I'm using yellow springs tensioned until the GES is flush with the screw. Lubed with SCS weight 3.
Yeah I need lube I gues... been using silicon spray but nah, thats not a good lube. I ll get traxxas as soon as they get more because it seems like they are sold out currently
cyoubx and when you just responsed I'd like to tell you something interesting tho. Today I was playing with my air and valk and I swapped the cores. It turned out gan air with valk core is an amazing cube... It's smooth and well balanced, corners can cut like any other top speedcube
... to me its like a better air. I tryed to do some solves and belive me or not I broke my PB in 1st solve (yeah maybe luck with OLL skip but still means the cube is good). If you have some time try it out :)

I made myself a Yuexiao M, it came out really nice, exactly what I was hoping for.
Not too strong, just that little 'click' at the end of a turn, worked great for me.
(used N35 4mmx2mm Magnets).
I think the N42's would be a good balance.
I have seen recomendations for N50 (because the plastic is 1,2mm think), but I used the N35's because, well, because it's what I had.
But seriously, I like the feeling of my cube, just wanted a subtle touch from the magnets, nothing overpowering. it now 'rests' perfectly at the end of each Alg instead of over shooting.
I hate the YueXiao.
