    • @88mphDrBrown
      @88mphDrBrown Před rokem +8

      Honestly he didn't really utilize "moves" with dribbling, he mostly just beat people with speed and athleticism. The only dribbling moves of his I can think of is his various palming fake outs. Tbc I'm not saying your comment is wrong, I think it's a perfect description of his infinite lay up package. I'm just making an observation about his dribbling. It seemed more like just pragmatically keeping the ball with him and away from other players.

    • @88mphDrBrown
      @88mphDrBrown Před rokem +16

      @@dervish816 Dribbling moves aren't just for showing off. They're great for creating space and if you cross someone over you can get a wide open lane. Using dribbling as a weapon wasn't really that common until after MJ had been in the league for awhile. Pete Maravich and sometimes Magic are about the only old school people I can think of that used dribbling like it's used today (I'm sure I'm probably forgetting people). Tim Hardaway and Iverson seemed to be the main catalysts for spreading it league wide. I think it's gotten to the point of ridiculousness though, the cradling and carrying is off the charts.

    • @bcjclj
      @bcjclj Před rokem +15

      @@88mphDrBrown dude, Mike definitely had dribbling moves. He was somewhat flashy with it in his early years, like the dribbling between the legs against Bird. But he stripped away all the unnecessary movement from his game. He could get any shot he wanted in 3 dribbles or less. But he also knew how to play off the ball, coming off screens and back door cuts. But in an iso situation Mike could beat you in a myriad of ways off the dribble. And that includes right to left and left to right crossovers, inside out crossovers with either hand, and hesitation pull ups on either side. And he really destroyed defenders in the triple threat position.

      Like put it this way. If MJ was drafted im the NFL TODAY he'd probably test in the top 3-5 all time combine wise. That's how athletic he was. Christian Watson tested 2nd overall behind Calvin Johnson. Jordan ran just as fast, an inch taller, and jumped much higher. I sure Jordans broad jump was insane. So he would match it. His first step is faster too.
      People saying Jordan would be playing with better athletes don't get it. He would still be the best athlete
      Not to mention he's the hardest working, most mentally strong, high IQ, and technically perfect nba player ever on top of it. Oh and an all time great defender on top of the best offensive player ever.

    Idk if yall have ever played someone who was a clear tier/class above you athleticly but good Lord is it wild in person... the wild part here KG is an NBA all time great with a defensive focused game... and Michael just needed to move more sharply the next time he was defended by him.
