Hard battle to judge. If the battle was shorter, From Downtown would have won.
But Flipside Technique has more experience and had more quality in their rounds in the second half. I agree with Kleju on the tie -break.
What a dope battle to watch. One of my favourites from this event.

so hard to call! I think the fresh material from FT won it for them... barely.
Yeah no man flipside are good for sure but from downtown brought the heat, they definitely took that. Fléau and stripes looked really tired, or maybe holding back I don't know. Funny to see who voted for who, David Colas vibes more with the french style and expression and of course Poe One would vote for the crew that fits his idea of breaking more, so the north Americans lmao. Still, looks like a "we'd rather the invited crew goes further in the event so we get them to win" kinda bullshit to me as it's so common in battles tbh. See you next year From Downtown.

@@stephenfleg8028 Yeah no, you're definitely right after rewatching they're great round, musical, clean, great feeling, just all around good. I just feel like they were short? Like, I like both of them a lot and I would have wanted to see more, feels like they intentionally stopped, but from a strategic standpoint it definitely worked out for them.
I suppose it's a good thing to have exactly the right length for a round, but at WGTF in general I've seen battles where bboys just go all out, the vibe is pretty special (just gotta watch all the other experimentals battles and stuff they do) and also it's such a cool thing to have a live orchestra. Flipside came to take that home though and they did just that, so good for them, but idk once again From Downtown just gave more in that battle from my perspective.

The judges are smoking crack if you think Flipside Technique won. From DownTown won that with a landslide round for round, how the fuck do you get a tie? And let's get the facts straight, the judges especially the women was gonna vote for the Canadians the whole night. Let's not forget Bboying is a "dance" and you clearly see that From DownTown they danced their soul out to that boring ass music. The crowd died when they announced the winners LOL - FACTS
