LSD actually stands for Lovely Sweet Dream, which was the name of the dream journal this is based off of. The LSD name might be a hilarious coincidence, or a secret hint at the nature of these dreams.
Either way though it's meant more as a Dream simulator than a drug simulator
The two tend to be far more similar than people like to admit

While the title is of the same name and possibly is a reference to the drug, the game has nothing to do with drugs. It's all based on the real dream journal of the creator, Osamu Sato, who had also made other funky weird ass games such as Eastern Mind and Chu-Teng. His dream journal can be found online, with a good chunk of it being in English. It's pretty neat. But yeah, nothing to do with drugs.

I think they would be super into this game if they had done a little research. Especially Arin. This game is not about drugs, it's based on a dream diary! There is so much more to it. As the days pass by, the dreams get more and more abnormal. Some dreams can actually get very creepy and manage to make you feel levels of dread that come close to amnesia!
I would love this to come back as a series or at least an hour long one off. It really deserves that much time.

@@TariqHoo06 there are some theories that it does stay in your system forever, but some say it doesn’t. I guess it depends on who you are and what your limit is.
LSD very much does not stay in your system forever. the trip generally lasts about 8-10 hours and it's usually completely out of your body in about 24-48 hours. for some people, the trip can affect how they think or perceive things for the rest of their life though. but generally I'd say that's a good thing.

This let's play has ticked a lot of people, including myself. It's really unfortunate that the grumps haven't done their homework on this one. This game is about the lovely sweet dreams of the game creator. There is a whole book chronicle online of his work for this masterpiece. Hopefully now though they realised that and that the grumps could do more awesome games like this and know the back stories of them
The game is actually "LSD Dream Emulator" not "LSD simulator". While drugs can be assumed, the game is based on a japanese game developer's dream journal going back 10 years. I kinda hope drugs were involved so this isn't just how they dream all the time.

While I don't encourage Lumpy Soap Deposit use, LSD is pretty fun and can serve as a powerful medicine when used correctly. But it's really nothing like this. Also, IIRC this game was just about this guy's dreams, not dreams on LSD. You can't really sleep for about 8 hours after dosage.

Really, it could be that he DID mean the drug, and made names that FIT with the acronym. WE MAY NEVER KNOW. Regardless of if the dreams are based on the drug or not, the name surely was influenced by it.
Game also doesn't convey it's meaning through game-play. Doesn't even hint on what to do. I like "artsy fartsy" games as much as the next guy; but there's nothing enjoyable about playing a game that doesn't at least help you realize what you're supposed to do. Even if what you're supposed to do is "Whatever you want".
Still gotta layout some kind of motivation to wet the mental appetite or else it's gonna be one of those games you'll only understand if you google it up.

lsd dream emulator is a game where you walk through unique environments then touch objects to teleport to new areas. every night you get a rating and depending on what that is it changes your spawn point for the next dream. there is an npc called the "gray man" and if he touches you then you could lose progress or restart the night.

My psychologist was paid to take lsd 'cus it was the 60's and they didn't know what it was at the time.
I never saw this kinda stuff on acid, just mad trails and it takes a couple of hours to kick in not minutes. To do it right, timing is everything. Too many times did I trip balls *after* the event.

I was watching this episode upside down on my phone and I didn't notice until the very end. That's an indicator of a well made LSD simulator.
What I wouldn't give to see Danny play this high. Yes I know it's an LSD game but. He's never done LSD. He'll can we just see more of this random LSD stuff I'm wigging out man. This is hysterical!
