- This bike has a sentimental factor for owner Spencer Luczak: his father raced Kawasakis, and this was a tribute to both him and Mitch Payton.

That guy is so well spoken, I love the bike
Is it asking too much to let Ping race this Kawi at the next 125 All Star race in Millville???
Ping! Dude, give us some feedback on these 'garage builds', is this one of the best 125's you ridden? How does it compare to the modern ktm/hus 125's?
Love the story & the Bike.. Amazing Job
Looking at an old kx 125 just makes me think about break tapping.
I came here after I saw swapmoto 2020 Kawasaki 250 ,
This is much more relieving....
One day I am going to build something like this. I would love to do a Rodney Smith 2005 RM250 GNCC build with the RG3 A Kit suspension.
Just gorgeous! That thing BARKS!
Killer start Ping !
Damn! 38HP out of a 125 is amazing. Those late 90’s early 00’s bikes ranged from 32-34HP stock and with two strokes you gotta really work to make more power. Two strokes by design are already on the edge of making HP or blowing up. Very impressive build, I’d love to try it out.
At 7000 feet ! Bet it would break 40 at sea level.
@@owenarsenault5955 more like 46 horses
Owen Arsenault
Crazy right!!
@@johnbabb1138 Wow I dont really know how much 2 strokes are affected by elevation.
@@owenarsenault5955 3 percent for every 1000 ft. Approximate
This thing looks crisp 👊
Holy shite Spence! 🤑 Looks like a damned blast to ride ✊🏼✊🏼✊🏼
*Real question is who is riding it at Straight Rhythm*
Now that is a sweet 125 !
Kinda always amazed when guys talk about cutting subframe like it's some secret or big thing
I've been doing this to many of my bikes since 2000
close friend and I discovered this and tested on our own it really helped me the sear hitting me in the butt in the whoops
He never said it was something secret? It has never been, subframe cut equals balance in correlation to the suspension as you would know - and definitly worth it for people of shorter statue.
But what Spencer was saying is that the stock Kawasaki 125 and the 250 two stroke from that era had a stinkbug effect, wich is well known.
But lets be honest here the average joe might not know much about it.
You are a genius!a legend! definitely the first to do that😂😂
Steve Whitelock i still blame you and The AMA for the death of the two strokes!
Hondas fault
I love it! Not just buying a new bike and throwing money at it
Awesome
My 04 kx125 didn’t sound like that !! Lol. Super nice bike 👌🏼👌🏼
Stock in comparsion to factory is quite a bit different. This engine screamed!
Torosus Horneri I agree.
This is also a 144
Did they do anything to the airbox? I know Stewart's 04 125 had the entire back of the airbox cut out with mesh wiring covering the hole.
Wow!
30k man but it's worth it amazing bike! That start though wheelie in all gears lol
My 04' is stock aside from the Renthal 971 bars......(stock bars suck)..................My ride is the shizzle...............best bike ever.
I just built a 2003 kx 125 with the 144 kit full scalvini pipe lectron carb rekluse clutch
Sickk bike! But garage build, 30 stacks??! But great video as always fellas
Is it gonna make the magazine?
Is this the kx aj was riding in 2018 straight rhythm
Big money
what triple clamps are you using? or new ee one adaptable to 2004 frame
Those are Ride engineering.
How much are these bikes going for these days? I have a 2003 kx250 98% stock still has the original warning sticker on the back fender.
KSH172 probably in all original shape 2500
KSH172 2003 I not the latest generation for kx250s but if it’s truly low hour than 2500 all day. If it was 2005-2007 it would be slightly more valuable. Still would sell pretty easily.
what kind of plug you running on that….i got the same bike jus can’t find any plugs and when i do they 50 60 a pop what other plug is safe to run thanks 🤘🏻🇺🇸
Plug? Sparkplug? Sparkplug cap?
What to say, it's kinda perfect ! Mine got stolen unfortunately.
Wow
Curious how it stacks up against a new 125 from ktm or husky
GTFPOB if a yz 125 can hole shot at the 125 all stars and win so with the right guy piloting it, I’m sure it can stay with them or beat them ?
38hp at altitude, with the right rider it will do well..
Why didn't you run it at the 125 red bud?
Right?! 30 stacks but dont race it!? Agreed!
@@nicholasklecan1738 it got 2nd at Red Bull Straight Rhythm
$250 for 5 gallons HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
takl23 Still cheaper than one gallon of Astroglide or one gallon of white-out.
that thing flat hauls
That’s a bad ass 125. 30k? I think he got huge discounts I was waiting to hear 50,000$
Why every 5 hours?
epicbagelswag probably don’t care anymore but the guys that were really good and had factory sponsorships would replace a top end on the 125’s after every race. I imagine with him running this 125 at 38 hp (300+ plus hp per liter) he is probably losing a significant amount of power just do to compression loss. To keep it in tip top shape you need new rings or new piston that often.
Do a garage build on a 2013 YZ250f
That bike is trash. Not even worth it.
I’ve got a 2004 KX250f that has the same head shake. Anybody able to tell me how to fix it without spending thousands?
Austin Baylor Yes, toss it off a massive cliff, head shake problem solved. That’s the worst actual MX bike built in the last 30 years.
Lower the front end via forks/clamps, over tighten the stem nut, OR , GPR stabilizer
DirkBike thanks for the tips
Kris Santana no thanks put about 1k in it for parts and my uncle gave it to me. Everything is like new
Steering stabilizer
$30,000 she's beautiful build 😍 prob better then ktm 🤔
should've threw some mika metal parts on it
30 grand am my 07 stock rm with a pipe will gap it off a gate
Its sick but $30k for some kid on a 19 Husky 125 to blow by you? No way!
You mean Carson Brown on his $30k Husky 125?
@@btomblin386 nah the stocker 125 claims 40hp.
@@cruisesuski1280 yeah 40hp at the crank and at sea level.
Tbh this looks way faster
*James 'Bubba' Stewart* should come out of retirement... Ride for Pro-Circuit... And run a KX125... Just for fun! That would be a WIN for EVERYBODY! (Unless Stew's unable except the limitations of the machine and still tries to beat EVERYBODY... and ends up hurting himself.)
Have you watched his latest interviews? He hates racing. Said hes touched a bike like 3 times in 3 years
@@stephenwilson1012
Yeah, to obsess over something for so long and then hate it... He's probably never had as much fun riding in a season as his brother does in a week. It's too bad. But actually riding 'just for fun' might allow him to rediscover why he started doing it in the first place! Hey, I was never a Bubba fan (huge respect though), but gotta love Mookie!
I have a 2003 amd 2004 kx 125
Can't hide money
Had an 03 that the original owner was a chick. It was clean. Hating myself for getting rid of it. Had air forks and didn’t know how to adjust them. Stiff as a board
First
“Garage build” lmao yeah ok.
$30k into an antique 125.
You ain't seen nothing yet
...and 38 hp....
Schnot Rich people have garages too.
Yea 38hp is cool and all but for 30k Jesus, a bone stock ktm 125 2019 makes 39-40 hp
Do you know why? Because KTM have no secrets, literally everything engine wise is a byproduct of the last years of factory racing. What KTM have stock engine wise is literally the same as Langston and Hughes raced back in 03-04 before the big switch. Kawi stoped at 04. But 38 HP for a old kawi with older technology is damn good.
Sounds better than any KTM aswell.
Torosus Horneri fair point but ktm sound pretty good too
That hp was at 7000 feet , more like 46 hp at sea level
@Taylor Anderson I am doubtful . I talked to Goose regarding rickys old 250 rm bike (05 supercross) 60 hp at the wheel with unobtanium parts. 125 twos trokes 44 hp at the rear wheel hmm. 40-42 maybe. But i can be wrong but it seems like a exaggeration
@Taylor Anderson I`ll ask Albrecht tomorrow and see what they scored on James old 125 kx in 04.
Who does this guy think he is. How tf is anyone supposed to compete with this
So basically it's a 1 off bike that can't be built by average Joe racers.......lame
You can? If you want to spend the money. Definitly not lame, its a piece of art and one should hail someone that is a fan of the sport and a weekend warrior for building such a beautiful machine.
