    I just got a board from Jay, and he spent a lot of time helping me find the right high-volume board. It's awesome to receive so much help from a bodyboarding legend. He was spot on, and I couldn't be happier with my new board. Jay and his team are true professionals.

    Great Vid! You helped me out a lot on my previous board purchase @ 6' 225lbs. Ended up on the Chief Flex 43.5" and couldn't be happier. Hitting only WA and SC in SoCal so far, water temps on the cooler side and the board is dialed in. Just ordered the MS Style Loaded HV board for a trip coming up in Jan w/ warmer water temps, hoping it's a good match as well. Either way Jay and Vicki, ebodyboarding is awesome, really appreciate all you put into helping out when needed either in person @ the shop or online! Keep charging!

    Bought a big boy board from Jay and dang what a difference. They are heavier as well you almost have to laugh when looking at entry level boards by comparison. If you have the weight buy the right right board it changes the game.

    I just ordered a chief flex bat tail. I used to ride an empire 42. About 10 years ago or more trying to get back into it this summer. Got a Costco (Scott burke ) board for the kids, tried it out and I couldn't catch anything at Sunset Beach. Im 5 '10 240. Learned to catch waves on the empire. About same weight give or take back them.
    Hoping this board will make it fun again at 51 year old. Only downside is the one color option!

      Trust me, it will make a huge difference over a cheap entry-level Costco board which isn't designed for your height/weight!

    If we're to buy a board at my size now 6 ft 280 I would definitely buy the Chief flex . Probably the 43+ . Even though I don't fit in that category , I grew up hunting down the biggest BZs they made. I got to the ride with you at the wedge in the early 90s.

    Love my HV boards. What would a HV board for Shaq look like?

      50 in BOARD with a 26 in wide point 17 inches down tapered to 21. Thick as phuck!

      @@minxlabrada I couldn't imagine. He's a giant. I'm 6 ft 280 , not the 20 year old charging the wedge anymore. I always bought the biggest BZ I found. They were around 44 long, 23 wide and I weighed 220.back then. mach 77 was tiny for me, and I could fold them in half

      The Tanker 48".

    I feel the top deck should be a little concave in HV boards. Due to my round beer belly, there is not much contact and even with a lot of wax, I still tend to slip off when paddling hard.
    Edit: Or this might be get a 2 inch too long board due not finding a HV board locally here in South Africa.

    • @krusher74
      @krusher74 Před 20 dny

      you should be on the inside rail making contact with the elbow and hip not in the center on your belly.

    • @leppie
      @leppie Před 19 dny

      @@krusher74 That is fine while taking the wave. But just general paddling is the problem with a really round belly :( Just rotating, there is a good chance to slip. The contact area is just too little (yes, loosing weight will solve this).

    Jay,
    36M 5'11" currently 220lbs on 2021 custom x1 43" (54mm thick) PP (1.9pcf i believe) double stringer. east coast NC waves with yearly trips to Rincon, PR: experience 20 years intermediate rider. Will the chief PP 42" give me more float but sacrifice some maneuverability? Would a HV board like the chief PP also be better for smaller days because of float?
    Thanks, Mike

    • @JayReale
      @JayReale Před 10 dny +1

      You are DEFINITELY a candidate for a Chief PP 42"! 60mm thick, so way more float, more glide/speed while on the wave, etc.

    Nice video. And for skinny guys? There aren't too many options. I know Tanner s board is thin and PLC. Any other options?

    • @eBodyboardingcom
      @eBodyboardingcom  Před 21 dnem +1

      Pretty much any other board. Bodyboards are thin nowadays compared to what we rode in the 80s/90s.

    I wonder if the biggest board would ride like a Beater Board make it a twin fin and forget the flippers

    • @eBodyboardingcom
      @eBodyboardingcom  Před 17 dny +1

      The Tanker would ride nothing like a Beater. The Beaters have a super-narrow tail and a weird rounded nose.
