Buying it later today. I’ve LOVED how infinite’s multiplayer runs on my steamdeck and somehow I only just learned that MCC is on steam. This video made it clear that it’s a good investment so I’m absolutely set on buying this in a couple hours!!!
Fun facts 🤓: ODST was release after Halo 3 and it was suppose to be an expansion (and it was going to be called Halo 3 Recon) but at the eleventh hour they decided to release it as a standalone game, with a 2nd disc that includes all DLC map packs for Halo 3 and most of the people bought to get into Halo Reach beta back in the 360 days (including me) Excellent video, I don't know if have it done yet but I hope you can test the Silent Hill franchise on the Steam Deck or ROG Ally soon
Silent Hill 1, Origins, and Shattered Memories never had a native PC release, but emulation works flawlessly. SH2 and 3 have a community remaster that are amazing, and SH4 The Room from GOG also is pretty flawless on Deck. SH Homecoming is okay, runs well, but the game is just garbage; and we don't bother acknowledging Downpour (which also didn't release on PC, but can be emulated via RPCS3).
I played all the _HMCC_ campaigns on the Deck at max (Enhanced) graphics and never got below 60 fps @8W TDP (6W for 1 and 2 with OG graphics), or the drops were just totally hard to notice. It can steadily maintain 90 fps, but I was aiming for battery life as the collection was my "travel game" at the time. Btw, if you're done playing a specific Halo title within the collection, remember to uncheck that specific "DLC" on Steam or in-game. It'll save you space. Multiplayer (per game) is also not tied to the campaign files, so that's good too.
Yup, I enjoyed all of them, with Halo 3 being the best one for me. That was my reason as well. I've played the first two games without the updated graphics. Tremendously helped with battery life and performance as well.
I was just searching this on youtube! Glad you just made it. I have the xbox one s halo collection but I feel dizzy because it is locked at 30fps. I’m getting old I guess. I am planing to buy this for the steam deck when it will be on sale for $12
I got a steam deck just for this game. I enjoy every second of it. And when I get bored, steam has mod support so I can just load up a custom campaign and expand the life of the games!
This video was a genuine treat to watch! My favorite game on my favorite piece of hardware :D. Also, Halo 2 Remastered Graphics can get quite CPU Limited on the following level and others! Such as Metropolis, Delta Halo, and Regret. I personally run 40hz on those levels but other than that the collection is perfect for the deck!

Thanks for the video! I have been wanting to see how Halo works on Steam Deck for a while now. Curious to see if there is a performance difference in games when using Valve Proton vs. Proton-GE. I've also noticed that some games have a smoother frametime when using the in-game frame limiter or vsync, and some when using the Steam OS frame limiter.
I'm playing halo 2 right now and it does not run too well. I played it docked and was getting massive frame drops out of nowhere I even turned the resolution down to 720p and it made no difference. I pulled it off the dock and put it back at 800p and it runs a lot better but still drops into the 40fps range
Complete newb but loved these on Xbox and Xbox 360. What happens when you lock the frame rate at like 30? Does it look like garbage? Or what are the benefits or drawbacks?
Hello Santiago. May i ask in a scale of 10, how much is the difficulty to mod games on steam deck since generally mods are based on windows ecosystem while steam deck is based on linux?
I know I'm not Santiago but it depends on what game you are trying to mod. If the game has steam workshop mods then its just as easy as modding them on windows. Other games vary. I have videos on my channel on how to mod Lethal Company and Content Warning on Deck but checking with the Steam Deck Reddit is always a good place to start

Emulation, not too crazy hard to get a 360 emulator running on there, not sure how it runs since I haven't had a chance to try anything more demanding like GTA IV but that would be the option more than likely. There's a PS3 emulator as well but I'm going to guess the 360 one will grant overall better performance.

Tip-uninstall high res textures in Halo infinite and then low settings and you will get constant 60fps

Shouldn't be an issue if you are fine with 30 fps, you get less power, so less heat and more battery life 👍
Halo 2 anniversary can experience some really bad frame time jitters along with drops of 20fps or more in some sections. It’s a heavy game.

This and infinite are broken for me, anti cheat refuses to work and I can't play online

There's some cpu bound sections in a couple missions some people told me, most of the game should be over 60
Infinite stutters on everything. You can't really lock it. It will still stutter.
