- You may have had steamed buns before, but have you had salapao? This Bangkok street food classic uses a dough made from sweet potatoes and has a delightful pork and salted egg filling. These delicious pork buns are a Thai street food famously served from a little hole-in-the-wall stall in Bangkok’s Chinatown and no visit to the city is complete without trying them. But, if you can’t get on a plane anytime soon, here’s how to recreate my version at home.

Thank you for the wonderful video of the must-see Bangkok street food👍
Nice recipe! The Bangkok salapao shop in the video is Ku Long Pao (กู่ หลง เปา) on Charoen Krung Rd in Samphantawong District, and has been in business over a century. Along with the salted egg/pork version mentioned in the video, they also offer buns with taro, bean & white sesame paste, and BBQ pork fillings, plus plain buns (mantou) and toasted buns.
Wow, so amazing! Big greetings and respect from Bonsai Kitchen team. 🍴🔥🧑🍳
❤🤍💙 all your video's #MARION👍

In thailand its salapao, in the philippines its siopao normally seen in 7 eleven or chowking and if bangkok has yaowarat then manila has binondo theyre both old and lots of food as well they have each other in common

Hello Marion, I am one of your big fan, I always follow your recipe and my dream is to one day meet you so we can cook together ❤
Marion can you tell us where you got those condiments containers with the handle from that you’ve had in a couple of your videos?
I can’t find a listing for it in products you sell either.
I neeeeeed it. ☺️

Hi Marion! Love your videos. It is pronounced "hicama" not ji-cama😂!
We also called them ice potatoes when I was 18 & living in Chiang Mai with my folks. It was one of the few crunchy things to snack on. I'd never seen it before but it's common in the grocery stores now.
Awesome vlog mam, please show torimeshi recipe japanese and honetsukidori recipe japanese, please 🥺 please please please
I might try something similar to this for SOO next week.❤. Queenslander! 😂👍
What's an alternative to salted egg yolks? There's no Asian market nearby for me to get salted eggs from.
Have you tried with local sweet potato, pumpkin, beet so you can make colourful salapao bun?
Do you have a name or an address for the place you went to? 😍😍
Please can I have t he rest
Bun is yellow
