Few things about the new Transport rules: its 2 units( totaling up to 12 models) for the transport capacity. So you cannot transport like a unit of 6 skywardens, a unit of 3 skywardens, and an Admiral (10 models, but 3 units).
But more importantly, and more Spicy, is the Transport Skyfarers rule doesn't care if the units to be picked up are in combat. So you could redeploy a Frigate and take your two 6 man units of Skywardens out of combat. You just have to deploy them OUT of combat after you transport. So for a 1" redeploy, you could move a Skywarden 16" inches. (Wholly with 6", plus the 4.5" base of the Frigate, plus the redeploy, plus the wholly with 6" disembark)
Also does not care about counter charges with frigate pulling guys out from combat
I don't mind them being in the boats or not. I just hate the amount of work that goes into building, painting, *storing* and *transporting* the boats to a venue for a game...
Just battle foam them.
Precut trays
A-case is your friend. Is a bit expensive, but ever since i started using A-case I've never felt like my models weren't safe or easy to transport. I happily take my Sylvaneth (with wyldwoods) anywhere now even on bike.
I got put down / then I set up again / you'll never gonna keep me down!
Hey Rob! Please don't skip Cities of Sigmar! I'm thinking about playing them in AoS 4 and I value your opinion.
i was just uploading as i go, thanks for the support czcams.com/video/Z2Xc5vp6Ac8/video.html
Pretty sure he will go over literally every reveal, he's pretty psyched for all of this.
Thanks for covering all the faction focus so quickly
Thunderer rifles still wounding on a 4+ feels weird when every random throw weapon that has half a decent punch wounds on 3+
But overall lets hope the points are balanced with what all of the units have lost from last edition.
KO player here. Im fine with the transport change except that it means i will be constantly having to pick everything up every time i move the boats and re set them up. Just adds more time to movement phase. The artefacts are.... Fine.... But i dont love only "once per battle" options. Lame.. also the subfaction i find incredibly boring because i don't love the artefacts. No code representation at all, the battletraits only come into play if you have boats. Im still totally "wait and see" but so i far im quite underwhelmed by almost everything here
What Ko armie does not use the boats. They are really cool and have been the center of the army for ages. Frigates as charge enablers are really cool in aos 3.0 . I think they will be even cooler in 4.0 cause these rules are so lose that you can do all kinds of complete nonsense whit them now
@@koenvandiepen7651 Oh I'm actually with you on this and this is why I'm still "wait and see" on the whole thing. My issue is that, even if you have boats, the actual battle traits really only apply if you are right next to the boats. So if I have an ironclad or a frigate in the list, still probably half of my army isn't going to be near that boat, so literally no battle traits apply to them. I like the boats being fun to play near, but you still have to play the game in which not everything is going to specifically wholly within 6" of the boats.
@@Dorkenmore Well it's still beter then gitz battle trait right something that does not apply to you army most of the time is random an isn't even that helpfull except for trolls.
@@koenvandiepen7651 I'm actually with you on that, but I've never been a fan of how the moon works in that army either.
@@Dorkenmore Me neither still i have both armies cause they are cool
for the artifact that's -1 dice on charge, combat phase might be cause in the shooting phase you werent within 12"
thanks for all the work in releasing videos while being live on twitch!!
The whole army plays like the last Subfaction that came out in Dawnbringers.
i like seeing the reduced shooting damage. makes the dorfs more fun to play against, and gives them more oppertunities to play more in melee for a mixed army.
me too, but i'm a bit worried about the fact they nerfed Skywardens damages (-1 attacks where this unit needed to be buffed in the V3...)
The problem is I'm not seeing anything that actually improves their melee capability. If they don't get any that just means they have less chance to do anything at all.
I’m realllly hope this quashes the KO infamy for being not fun to play against😅
The transport thing seems interesting i kind of like the way they’re doing it. Especially for opponents i get to see exactly whats in there rather than having to remember
Must say I'm a bit sad about what I'm seeing ATM with the sky dorfs but hopefully it will get better with the book. Awesome job on editing and uploading vid whilst streaming!
But everyone thinks this on theire Faction. It just get down scaled alot.
We will find out, after playing some games.
@@Serra7racon it's more about loosing rules that make them unique, balloon boys being able to hitch a ride on the ships without effecting transport capacity. But totally agree about seeing how they play out, although it's not a faction I play but play against.
Great work on getting this out so quickly. But dang if I still don’t like what I’m hearing
Great review. Don't know how I feel about these new simplified rules though
Super fair. That's how I feel
Been waiting for this preview! Great to see models on the table and not on the side any more.
Really looking forward to converting these stunties into the Much-Great Sky-kill Air Armada
Wow Short Kings on table not on a boat now.
Drakk Hobbler and the Mag Bolas opened for The Max Rebo Band at the Bespin Rocks Cloud Festival.
CLOUD SEEDING THIS VIDEO TO THE TOP!!!!
Bummer. Nice of them to combine thunderer shooting profiles. Mabey, their army of renown is good. Would have liked to see better warscrolls for the loss of protection in boats and loss of base shoot in combat.
Your thumbnail sums up my feelings nicely.
I really want to paint the spearhead for these.
Interesting that the mag-bolas is effective until the start of your next turn
More boats please
New KO faction terrain: Clouds. Players can only descend from GW cloud models. ;)
Jumping back in after a 5ish year hiatus. Im between Fyreslayers and KO. Never played dwarves in any tabletop game so ive decided its time. What should i go with?! All incite welcome
Thanks for your content!
Great video
Chittering gibbon approved.
Confirmed
I hope these simplified rules are just for the indexing.
Also, I’ll be upset if all artefacts are once per game 😢
In a Vacuum it seems like a big nerf and nothing about the code?
It seems like a bit of a nerf internally, but we do need to keep in mind that every faction across the board is getting some kind of nerf so it may not feel bad as far as external balance. As a KO enjoyer, i'm not a big fan of the boat changes and losing the cover being in the boats. That was nice for keeping the fragile units we have alive
@kennypalmer8971 ko didn't have any fragile units, they all had amazing saves 😂
@@jtowensbyiii6018 A 4+ save (sometimes 3+) with no ward and 2 wounds per model is fragile. They're fast and hit pretty hard. They're not durable whatsoever. The only other factions that are more fragile are the elf factions, and even then Lumineth pays less per wound than KO.
@@kennypalmer8971 And this is a good thing cause no other army can push as hards as KO can. The ammount of dammage KO can put out before ever getting hit back is about the best in the game. So if they where also tough then ther would be no fair fights against them. And they are also on of the best at picking the time to fight. They need to be expensive per wound or it is broken.
@@koenvandiepen7651I think that was true in 3.0. In 4.0, they basically have a worse version of SCE's ability (one boat and units versus half your total units), and can't fly high again. KO were really buoyed by easy tactics in 3.0 and their ability to zip around the board for a CP with one boat each round.
Basically with each edition GW has nerfed KO's movement. Think this might be too far. But will wait and see
If I'm honest, I must say that I like how this whole 4th edition tastes: simple, streamlined, modular, fast, furious, spicy, and so narrative! My imagination jumps up and down thinking about how evocative all these +1 to add, all these dice to roll are, and how the stories that comes out of it are unique and stimulating.
I see you
I feel like KO will be truly hated. The game will be a giant slog of moving boats. Measuring putting guys on the table. Doing this every turn. Super slow.
Ppl hated them already in 3.0...
@@WarpstoneHoarderProbably not for being a slow army to play against or with
12 man Movement trays with a boat insert that keeps units within 6. Some get to work on the file. :)
@@brentlucas731 I would buy those
Super excited to have the long range damage reduced here. Much more interactive gameplay.
I think will open a lot of fun plays:
My turn = I move endriggers/skywardens, activate "assault boat" frigate's ability to charge with endriggers/skywardens with strike first. End of my turn, afte I activate "Power through" command ability (move keyword) on Frigate to move out combat and "transport skyfarer" on endriggers/skywardens place it out too (if they're not in combat). So be carefull to kill target with baloons.
Enemy turn = Redeploy another command ability with move keyword so I can activate "transport skyfarer" on endriggers/skywardens place it again.
Beacuse baloons take the transported status only from "trasport skyfarer" and not from frigate's "assault boat"!
A lot on inches and move flexibility .
Did you miss the Cities of Sigmar Faction Focus?

@@thehonestwargamerstreams Yep I saw it a few minutes after finishing this video. Thanks!
Great flavour!
This is fun, I enjoyed this!
I kinda wanna play these guys as my order faction
Firing up my printer for these bad boys
I bought a small force of these guys to build and paint and while they are dope and super shooty they just aren’t my thing. I’m hoping this new edition will see them sold so I can start my 4th edition faction.
The thumbnail game is strong
great video, gw clouds sold separately
Awaiting the clouds
IM NEXT TO A BOAT!
I find it kinda funny people are complaining that they have to move each model now instead of just the ships and the this will make the movement phase to long... I mean... It just sounds like normal movement stuff for everyone else to me 😂
Guess what normal movement stuff is? Long
@@thehonestwargamerstreams
True but i find it funny regardless. Also don't kharadron only have units of 3 to 6 or so models? Shouldn't take that long to move. I'm sorry if I seem rude, but just seems like a minor thing to complain about
Doesn't hold this position make the Fumigator/decksweeper "shoot in combat" redundant... How would it ever come into play that I am both "in combat" and "Moved" as to take advantage of the fumigator/decksweepers ability?? So, basically, shoot in combat will only occur when I am in combat... Can't move if in combat... thus enabling the hold your position ability... Which will give ALL weapons' shoot in combat...
Yea seems so. Maybe there is a faction that lets you move while in combat. But then again why would you not use that to get out of combat?
comment for the comment gods!
Which faction is good at sitting on objectives and being hard to shift off? Trying to pick one for getting into AoS having never played before.
Nurgle, or any death faction is good to look into for that
Full on nurgle or slaves to darkness with nurgle too?
The thunderers hold the position seems like a non event, if you are in combat then you havent moved anyway.. Unless there is a move ability or something we havent been shown yet
So ready for 4th ed sky pirates!
hey i have noticed that you have been very positive about all the changes in aos4, is this to be more reassuring to potentially new players or do you genuinely think all of the changes have been positive?
I'll make a video about that at some point
Did GW actually nerf shooting, as promised, for this faction? Hard to tell as I’m not that familiar with the sky pirates.
Yes. The boats shoot less, if the Frigate is representative. Thunderers still wound on 4s and nothing was revealed here that shows how that might be improved.
I love the changes. Having the models on the game table instead of somewhere to the sides stops a lot of confusion for both me and my opponent. And having the ability to put a ship in the sky and drop it down rally gives you that awe and thunder moment of Kharadron just smashing down from the skies!
Do we know how many factions are being revealed for AoS 4? Cause if its everyone when do you think the hedonites will be shown?
Relatively soon there are only so many chaos factions to go through. I think probably next week or week after
Seraphon! Seraphon! Seraphon! Seraphon! Seraphon! Seraphon!
Amazing all guns go
Sky Dwarves!
Like if you think Rob’s only sponsorship is Manscaped
Rob, these videos are great! Keep 'em coming! My only wish is that you made a clip from the league for the 'Flying High' battle trait 😂
"To The Cloud!"

Where's the faction focus for bonesplitterz and beasts? I'm super excited to hear about their future in AoS. Lmao
HAHAHAHA
As a KO player, I'm not enthused. Maybe there will be more utility spelled out in the unreleased content, but this gives up so much more than it gains. It seems they want to push the units into combat, but their defense is awful. I suspect it will be very easy to tie up units in combat and that'll be game.
Bought the Spearhead because you talked it up in your Spearhead ranking video. Rob is very bad for my wallet.
Oh really?? KO has got cool lore
The transport rules are very disappointing
Hay Rob, love you, from Rob
This looks terrible! They really messed this one up.
There are some shenanigans that can be done, the rules looks simple at first but they combine giving the army an amazing mobility and can be hard to deal with..
New sky vessel rules are terrible. What was so bad about how they previously played? I now have zero desire to play my KO army. Thanks GW!
It was insanely stupidity overpowered, no other army gets a built in -1 to be hit and +1 save AND teleports AND already has great built in saves AND is a ranged unit to boot
So far they do feel the most nerfed but maybe points are cheaper 😅
I mean I'm pretty happy with the transport changes and nerfs to long range damage, because it actually makes KO a somewhat interactive army now. Rather than their current "lol I'm gonna put all of my stuff in big ships, blast your army to pieces and then teleport away kthxbai".
Not going to lie but that thunderers profile is pretty stupid. Cause nobody is going to use the aethershot rifels on annything except the champion. A model that is ironicly not armed whit a aetershot rifle. (well i gues it is now since his double barrel has been removed from rules reality)
Where CoS? :c
Word
czcams.com/video/Z2Xc5vp6Ac8/video.html
Hmm what's that smell??? Oh yeah, it's FUG!!!

Coming up later today!
He was psyching himself up for it

@@thehonestwargamerstreams thank you sir! I’d rather hear you talk about it than read it for myself :D
youtube thugs represent
Haha oh man, you've got a ton more of these to do Rob. You'll have to do a condensed video after they're all out where we watch you go from hopeful optimism in the first reveal to full send sarcasm in the last video.
I'm past full send
While I understand the reason why I am kinda disappointed your privateers don't stay in the boats
Cities of sigmar? :(
czcams.com/video/Z2Xc5vp6Ac8/video.html
ngl, not thrilled with ANY of this. Looks like to KO are going into the box for a while.
Ko player here. Like the transport change, when I spend hour painting minis, I like having them actually on the board. Like the streamlining of weapon profile, it was really tiresome during shooting. Don't like the battle formation at all, just another artifact is not interesting for me.
Where cities of sigmar 😮
czcams.com/video/Z2Xc5vp6Ac8/video.html
@@thehonestwargamerstreams my mannnn
I wanted to see my models on the table but... Not like this. This feels awful.
Painted models spending time ON THE TABLE, and not sitting on a shelf... shooting and being killed without EVER touching the table... what a silly idea that was from GW in hindsight. I'm glad that has changed.
This is terrible! No more casually floating around and blowing away units while scoring for nothing. I'm gonna have to learn how to actually play AOS!
Warhammer: We are gonna streamline Weaponprofiles!
Checks Skywadens. So that was a lie...
Deadpan sarcasm. Actually painful.
RIPin pieces garrison rules you wont be missed
Honestly, steam punk sky dwarves is a pretty cool pitch, don't care who you are. Add a little bit of piracy in the mix, and there's a lot to love in KO...
Great video
