This animated video is aimed at giving a logical explanation on the working of centrifugal pumps. The importance of priming, cavitation & NPSH and commonly used impeller types are also illustrated in this video. Centrifugal pumps are the most preferred home water pumps. Depending upon the fluid viscosity different impeller types such as open, semi-open and shrouded are used. Mechanical design aspects of centrifugal pump such as water sealing arrangement and bearing housing are also well explained here.

"Why waste time say lot word when few word do trick?" -Kevin from The Office
u don't seem that busy so... lols anyway it seems to me that when explaining something its best to give as many details as to why something works the way it does as possible so if you get stuck on any step you potentially have the information to go back and fix it.
@@ionutalex7347 I thumbed up Shaun's post because video was strange in English, way we speak English different to video. video ok, but "if" you did not notice, it appears to be short on words that are naturally known to be implied.
Biggest one you may notice is the word "the"
How many times was that word mentioned in the video ?
;)
@@brycering5989 Nice mansplain.
@@brycering5989 Kirloskar Brothers is an Indian company so it's possible that they provided part of the transcript for the video. There is no word for "the" in Hindi, the most common language in India which is why many English speakers in India don't fully understand when to use the word "the".

Engineers don't need articles. Great video. I feel very informed.
Amen to that.
All the negative comments were placed first, getting on the narratives language. Engineers sometimes need things processed and explained differently and others will focus on grammatical errors. We're the Nazis successful in their endeavors? Why would grammar Nazis?
Efficiency, efficiency, efficiency.

As a retired Pattern Maker of 41 years, I Totally approve of this video. Thanks for posting.
what kind of patterns does a pattern maker do? I only now that term in the context of sewing.
Laterally I found you one of the best teacher in my life and helps me alot in learning engineering practically
a very helpful video, I just pulled apart my pump for maintenence and found this informative. thanks.
Great video and animation! Such a good cause to help with visual education in such difficult subjects.
Wonderfully Explained.
Thanks to Learn Engineering & Kirloskar Group.
Watching few hours before the exam...and it was really very useful....
His hard work is really an inspiration.
Keep working hard
Thank you. This was the most helpful video on centrifugal pumps I found on CZcams 🙏🙏
Thank you Learn Engineering you make learning simple.

What a great training. Awesome images and great explanations.
I didn't notice the lack of the word 'the' (strangely), and thoroughly enjoyed (the) video; graphics and explanation were both simple. :D
Val Cronin what do you mean? he uses the word "the" often..
It sounds like this was constructed by somebody using English as a second language. I understood what he was saying and overall I thought the audio was intelligent and carefully thought out. Proof reading by an English speaking person would have helped but in the end it's all about comprehension. In Europe people switch between languages all the time, and the same kind of unusual syntax is the norm. No matter, they are understood fine.
He said it at 2:53
Because he thinks impeller is person

Best explanation about centrifugal pump. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks, straight to the point and informative, just how i like it, most explanations are too bloody long for something as relatively simple as this.
원심펌프 잘 봤습니다. thanks for giving me centrifugal pump work
Brilliant. Thanks for this video.
9 years and still helpful.
science, engineering, tech don't require beautiful grammar and sentences. Love the video and i got what i was looking for. thanks
This really helps. Thank you so much! :)
What software is used to create these animations? You should include that in the descriptions of the videos. And keep up the great work!
Best explanation process. Thank u
God bless you people ! Thank you so much for such easy , comprehensive, clear and schematic videos.
Why u need this video
Thank you team for sharing this valuable and important information through excellent animation👌. Please do continue this good work 🍫💐😄 !!!
Excellent video. I've shown it to 2 of my apprentices.
As a aspiring process engineer this is a blessing 🙌
Great animation! Very helpful!
In Technical explanation the main objective is to explain the phenomena. Also its not an English class, the person has done a great job...
This is really cool!! It's kind of funny how the narrator doesn't use articles haha

Note 1: Prime pump with open impeller and consideration of suction lift to prevent cavitation. Note 2: semi-open is better, due to relative efficiency.
Thanks for the awesome video and great illustration.
amazing video, has so much trouble in understanding this topic but this video cleared my vision. thanks!
video was quite enjoyable by me, I learned lot
though it felt like I was having a stroke
wow great video .........
it helps me in my exam
please provide sum more videos for mechanical engineers
So I learned about pumps and STE(Simplified Technical English) today.
Without having prior knowledge of STE, I was just watching the video thinking "Grug want rock" and "Grug want impeller", mainly just because I noticed the lack of articles and stuff. Then I read some comments and now I truly understand the purpose of STE.
Not gonna lie though, the lack of articles and such made me pay more attention to the information mainly because I was so because I was so focused on listening out for the article "the"
Thank you. Great explanation! with clear animation
He really doens't like the word "the".
Anyhow, good video
love this animation i just understand everything
Thank God, no ads! 😎👍
Excellent, informative and concise video! Thanks for posting it!

Very informative and useful, thanks 😊😊
Wonderfully Explained!
Fluid mechanics was probably one of the most complicated courses I've learned in University 😭
Heat and Mass Transfer would like to have word with you
I thought so, until i met course called flexibility and strength
Rotational mechanics- Hold my hand then

Good job Kirloskar , Proud to be an India ❤️
Texmo taro also awesome in India giving 2 years warranty
Is it cool being an India? What is it like being an India? I've always thought about what it would be like to be an India. Maybe you can help give me some pointers so I can be an India just like you.
ഒരേ പൊളി 🤞
It's 10 o clock and I'm watching this. I really need to stop procrastinating
This is great video. It is simple and easy to understand.

The video was so informative ............ It clear my concept about positive pressure and negative and its reasons. help us with more such kinds of videos.
Learn Engineering needs to team up with Learn English to form the ultimate super team.
The amount of forgotten "the" is scary.
Great video for those who do not have luxury to see centrifugal pumps in reality.
So, beautiful. Thanks for making this video.

great video, thanks for this
Very useful video!! Need working and maintenance of compressor
Thanks for sharing this informative video. It will be very helpful for us to apply in our world of Engineering.!!!
it is just treasure of knowledge thanks to le
Video is nicely done to explain working of Centrifugal Pump. Confusion is created in direction of rotation. In this video, when impeller alone is rotating, it is rotating in counter clockwise direction. When the same impeller goes in the casing, it is rotating in clockwise direction. Please remove this anomaly. Direction of rotation is very very important in Centrifugal Pumps. Pump casing shown here is with counter clock wise rotation seen from driving end. Kirloskar Brothers Pumps are with clock wise direction of rotation seen from driving end.
Respected sir, I am happy to say that your videos really helpful during my study. I am requesting you that will you try to describe the animated video for Mumbai's local trains engine? I want to study that how an engine works in this train.
I hope you will try to teaching the video to me.
Thanking you!....
All very elucidating, but I prefer to use definite article in communication. And I like it when others do, it facilitates flow of exchange of ideas ...
very good nice video
the graphics and the narration both are good
keep making such videos
Nice video, good explanation and illustration. And since I am not a moron, I had no problem filling in the words left out of the narration.
Great video
nice video 90% percent of the population is not english mother speaker, this guy made a good video

Thanks for your informative video
THANK YOU SO MUCH!
As a physics major, I roll my eyes every time he says "centrifugal force."
openskies11 uhh
and why is that may i ask?
@@h4rder10 late but its because centrifugal forces dont actually exist, but are a product of the tangential velocity of circular motion
@@drcgaming4195 cheers, might look it up later.
Well explanation and animation is too good👍
nyc explaination...awesome!!
The word "the" is extremely under utilised in this video.
