This animated video is aimed at giving a logical explanation on the working of centrifugal pumps. The importance of priming, cavitation & NPSH and commonly used impeller types are also illustrated in this video. Centrifugal pumps are the most preferred home water pumps. Depending upon the fluid viscosity different impeller types such as open, semi-open and shrouded are used. Mechanical design aspects of centrifugal pump such as water sealing arrangement and bearing housing are also well explained here.

u don't seem that busy so... lols anyway it seems to me that when explaining something its best to give as many details as to why something works the way it does as possible so if you get stuck on any step you potentially have the information to go back and fix it.

@@ionutalex7347 I thumbed up Shaun's post because video was strange in English, way we speak English different to video. video ok, but "if" you did not notice, it appears to be short on words that are naturally known to be implied.
Biggest one you may notice is the word "the"
How many times was that word mentioned in the video ?

It sounds like this was constructed by somebody using English as a second language. I understood what he was saying and overall I thought the audio was intelligent and carefully thought out. Proof reading by an English speaking person would have helped but in the end it's all about comprehension. In Europe people switch between languages all the time, and the same kind of unusual syntax is the norm. No matter, they are understood fine.

So I learned about pumps and STE(Simplified Technical English) today.
Without having prior knowledge of STE, I was just watching the video thinking "Grug want rock" and "Grug want impeller", mainly just because I noticed the lack of articles and stuff. Then I read some comments and now I truly understand the purpose of STE.
Not gonna lie though, the lack of articles and such made me pay more attention to the information mainly because I was so because I was so focused on listening out for the article "the"

Video is nicely done to explain working of Centrifugal Pump. Confusion is created in direction of rotation. In this video, when impeller alone is rotating, it is rotating in counter clockwise direction. When the same impeller goes in the casing, it is rotating in clockwise direction. Please remove this anomaly. Direction of rotation is very very important in Centrifugal Pumps. Pump casing shown here is with counter clock wise rotation seen from driving end. Kirloskar Brothers Pumps are with clock wise direction of rotation seen from driving end.
