- Can You Afford SALZBURG?! - The Most Expensive Austrian City. I’ve spent last 8 years travelling around Europe as a tour guide and recently I was in Salzburg Austria and I want to share with you my travel costs and latest prices to help you budget your Salzburg Travel Costs. It’s true that due to pandemic some prices have dropped, but Salzburg is still the most expensive city in Austria. Stick till the end where we will look at how expensive is Salzburg on a scale of 1 to 10.

Great video. I was just there September of 2022 and it was very reasonable. I would put it at 7 on your rating of how expensive it is. We had a great hotel room with a close location to the public transit and it wasn’t that bad. I found Vienna to be more expensive then Salzburg. I also recommend the tourist card. That saves you big time. I also recommend visiting Hanger 7 if you’re a fan of Red Bull.

I don't know who told you Salzburg would be the most expensive city in Austria but it is defenitely not.
Officially it is Innsbruck in the state Tyrol. But if small cities are also taken into consideration it is actually Feldkirch in the state Vorarlberg.

Travelling this June, can you recommend an affordable hotel near Mirabell?
There are many nice hotels in that area, especially on the Linzergasse, which may be a little quieter area being on the edge of the Kapuzine and away from the center of town.

Did your German improve? Can you still snowboard and ski in the Alps during the Summer?
Sometimes it is a problem to ski already during the Winter as there is less and less snow each year.
Expensive? You can't afford to NOT go to Salzburg at least once in your life. 😀 Just get the Salzburg card and you are good to go. And with the crash of the Euro, it's that much more affordable.
