Yeonarang was the best Hwoarang of T7, Edge is better in Tekken 8, although I think Yeonarang will get better as the season progresses.

Yeonarang : Personal Favorite. Fun to watch. Dominates, but drops combo sometimes.
Edge: Currently has the best understanding of TK8 Hwoarang. relatively weaker defense.
Rest (휴ㅋ/Rest1997): Combo optimization/wall combo god.
Service (서비스/tekken8service): Funniest streamer IMO. Good mind games.
SuperHwoarang : Very tempo based. Rolls opponents down or gets rolled.
Macroya (매크로야/macroyatv): Godfather of aspiring Hwoarang mains. Hit his 40s and still rocking. Prefers Offensive/ Pressure plays.

tge1x: Combo optimization and wall combo expert. Innovative and quick with combo adjustment in any given situation for maximum damage. Creative and very stylish, unorthodox hwoarang player with a unique approach to the character.

I keep thinking about why it is stated that edge is better than yeo. Is it not apparent how dominant of a player yeonarang is? I can't help but wonder about where the community bases their assumptions from when it comes to these two. It is clear as day to me who the better player is regardless of 'rank', 'prowess', or placement in the world. Respect and hats off to both players, I'm not disregarding edge.
There are a lot of inactive players that are in the background of the scene, in ALL of the showings of Yeonarang, dating all the way back from T7 up to now in T8, he is simply better. We can't really crown edge since he hasn't really proved how capable he truly is at the international level. I am not satisfied with in-game leaderboard data.

No, on the contrary, he is a defensive style. he is the type to defend his opponent's attack with good physical and then attack back. That's why he is struggling with tekken 8, but I think he can be the best again if he adapts.
