- In this video we'll be tackling the axis cube, a shape mod of the 3x3. I'll be using the same method and algorithms I use to solve the 3x3, so if you are already familiar with that, you are well on your way to solving the axis cube!
Tried about 4 other tutorials before I found yours and all the others were so hard, thanks for helping me out. You're the best
So glad to hear it!
I finally did it after 2 years I gotta say this tutorial was a bit confusing at some points but I did it and I owe it to you so, thanks.
Glad you finally got it! The axis cube can be a beast to get the hang of, but it's worth it when it finally clicks!
@@daniellee560can you make a tutorial for the stickerless version
@@tirubachiniechetty51 I don't currently own a stickerless version, but I'm sure you would solve it the same way unless the colors were different.

I got one of these, from a company called Inverse Beyond the Cube. It's called a Stratosfear, but it is the same color (sky blue) on every side. I didn't know it is an axis cube. Now that I finally figured that out I might have some hope of solving the thing! 👍
tysm for the tutorial i couldnt find any other for axis cube
sadly a piece popped before i could complete it
I tried every tutorial and finally got it with this one. I watched the video probably 20 times but once i got it, it makes complete sense. It was confusing how you were holding the cube at some points but if i just compared it to a 3x3 and always kept the top layer up, it did the trick. Thanks so much. I feel on top of the world!!
So glad to hear you figured it out; that's why I do these videos - for people like you! Thanks for watching, and keep solving!
Thank you for the tutorial. I tried to learn this from many more videos but this tutorial was the best.😊
This man is going on my will
I never thought i could solve this cube but this man just proved me wrong
You are one of the best CZcamsrs To teach how to solve weird puzles. this is a very good channel, And your tutorials are so easy to understand!
Thank you; I appreciate that!
Thanks for the tutorial! Had issues with my second row centers being rotated as I wasn’t setting them up with the first cross. Also feel like there is a move at the end here I don’t use with my normal 3x3 but your walk though got me through it. Thanks!
Bro Exellent no other tutorial helped me but your one did. I subscribed and liked and very very much thx
That's great to hear; thanks!
Same!!!
Hey man this was awesome. Learned a new algorithm for the second row. I was using something else. That was awesome. Your last few steps might need a bit more explosion for different orientations. A bit of fiddling around between a couple of the algorithms for me there in the end. Thanks a lot
Glad to hear it helped you out; I appreciate the kind words!
The 3rd layer is not comprehendable at all
Glad I’m not the only one
Yeah. The algorithms for 3x3 don’t seem to work right. Not sure why.
Thank. This helped me to finally solve the cube
Used your tutorial to finally solve my Mirror axis cube 😅 thank you
Glad you figured it out!
Guys, if you get your center twisted on the last layer, do this algorithm, R, U, R', U. Do that 5 times and it should fix it.
Thank you for this! Watched a few videos and I found this one to be the most well explained.
You're welcome; thanks for watching!
I still need a slight tutorial on orientation on this thing but I got most of it thanks to this video. The perspective is a little confusing but after several rewinds and slow downs I got this
Finally figured it out! Thanks!
Solid tutorial to follow! Took me a good 3 days cuz I kept messing up, but I finally got it! Thank you!
You're welcome!
Thank you the only part that I still struggled with was F, U, R, U', R', F' but after I practice a lil bit I got the hang of it
thank you very much! i've finelly did it. your tutorial is the best one i've seen
Glad to hear it!
Thank you! Took a few months, but I did it!
Glad to hear it!
Thanks Daniel! I finally solved it thanks to this video, again thank you 🙏
Good job; keep it up!
Thank you sir. This is one of the most frustrating cubes I’ve solved.
I’ve always used F R U R’ U’ F’ to get the last layer cross on a regular 3x3. Then R U R’ U R U2 R’ (sometimes ending with another U) to position the cross pieces correctly. Not sure if I learned differently or changed something myself along the way. Regardless, it doesn’t seem to work well on the Axis.
This cube can be frustrating for sure. This is just the method I use; I'm sure there are other methods out there, but you're right, the last layer takes a little trial and error sometimes, but it always works for me.
@@daniellee560 It did work for me also. I had to do the algorithms more times, but once you get the cross in the last layer it’s pretty easy to finish.
thank you soooooooooo sooooooo much i finally did it but the only thing is i had trouble making the yellow cross can u help me with that
The yellow cross can be difficult; sometimes you just need to do the edge swap algorithm a couple of times until you see one of the situations that I show in the video. After you get the hang of what to look for, it gets easier.
I made the cube with your tutorial.
So thank you so much
You're very welcome!
My mind... officially boggled because of centers
They can be a pain at first, but once it clicks, you'll be like Neo seeing the code in the Matrix for the first time!

Love your vids. You also explain it very well❤❤❤Edit: all because of you I can average about 15 to 16 seconds I’m telling all my friends to subscribe to you
Thank you; I'm glad I can help!
Can you make a tutorial of 5x5
Ty
At the last part where you only need to orient the pieces you were lucky to have two already in place but what if you have 4 pieces all not in the right place? I did the first two then after wards idk how to continue since you didnt mentioned that in the video
You can use the same method to do 1, 2, 3, or all 4 corners. Just orient a corner, moves the next one into place and orient it, then the next, then the next. It will all work out in the end as long as you do the moves correctly.
Thanks for the tutorial man
THANK S MAN,,,WONDERFULL EXPLANATION
I AM THE 1000TH LIKE I HAVE ALL THE POWER
now this is tutorial. hat off mister
You helped me SOOOOO much cause my cube has been mixed for 2 YEARS
Glad to hear it!
Very nice now I need to buy one it looks hard but the way you explain it much easier. I have a ghost cube but can't solve it do you have one?
I actually do have a ghost cube but have never learned to solve it. I will get to it eventually but it seems pretty involved so it might be a while before I have that much time to devote to it.
@@daniellee560 I will wait you will explain better and make it easier.
How do you move around the center pieces if they arent where they belong?
For this cube, I don't think you can do that; you'll need to start with the centers and build everything around them.
Tip: solve it in shapes well if it helps
At 14:54, what if the red piece is flipped
With the second last step, whta if it's one the other side of the cube? I tried doing it and it didn't work
If you mean making the cross, some of it is just trial and error. The method I show here works for me every time, but 8f you're having trouble, maybe check out another video and see if there is another method that makes sense. I've found that there are usually many ways to solve a cube!
I haven't watched the video yet, but smashed the like button anyway! 😁
This is definitely what I will be doing after work tomorrow. I've been struggling to learn the turning logic on this one. I think I'm about halfway there on my own, but some guidance would be just the thing 👍

Yvw!
Yea, so the thing with my situation is that the axis cube was already mixed up and I have no idea hoe to solve it since its the first time I've ever seen it
I finished the 2nd layer but the orange yellow edge is flipped. Help
You probably need to kick that piece out by inserting another piece into its place, then reinsert the yellow/orange piece correctly.
@@daniellee560 how do you kick out a center? It isnt an edge.
@@Jacknoham you can't with a center; you'll have to start over and rebuild that side.
@@daniellee560 ok
What if your edge is in the right place but it is swapped?
👍
Friendly suggestion-instead if saying just do this create a video and explain what is the face up downright left movements in comparison to a 3x3
I have no idea what side is what. You could make five or six videos 10 minutes long each breaking this down.
Doing the d r d’ r’ algorithm means nothing if it don’t know d or t are
Do you focus on the trapozoid😊
Sorry if it was unclear; I compared it to a 3x3 at the beginning and showed how the different axis move compared to each other. Keep trying and you'll get it.
The last layer cross algorith isn't working.what am i supposed to do?
Try doing an edge switch algorithm, then look again and see if you get what I had in the video. There are lots of different situations that are possible.
Can you add timestamps in the description?
The tutorial is great but I need timestamps
Yeah, I'll try to remember to do that in the future.
What do I do if two of the center pieces on the second layer are flipped?
I always orient the centers at the beginning when I am solving the cross. That way, you don't have to worry about them being rotated.
@@daniellee560 ok I figured it out thanks
When doing the yellow cross, no matter what I do 2 of the edges are flipped but in the correct spot. What do I do?
It sounds like that would be the "L" shape, where two are correct, and two are incorrect. I have that situation at 19:45 in the video.
Thank you I learned it.@@daniellee560
I just got an offbrand one with no colors for christmas, and got stuck trying to line up the cross with the centers of the second layer. How am I meant to do this???
I've never solved one of those. Maybe since there are no colors, you only need to do the algorithm randomly until you get the cross pieces lined up smoothly. Then, I would think you'd do each corner piece until they line up smoothly with the rest. Let me know if that works out or not.
@@daniellee560 As far as I've been able to find out, if this happens you just need to start over from a different center because you can't exactly slot a new one in
@@Brass319 that may be the case. I've never solved one like that, so I couldn't say for sure.
Where you try to get the yellow cross I just keep getting the L and then one point over and over
Try doing the edge switch algorithm, then see if you are able to get what I had in the video. That yellow cross can be tricky sometimes.
What is the left algorithm?
U', L', U, L, U, F, U', F'
@@daniellee560 Thanks.
These shape mods make my head hurt. I've yet to solve the first piece.
Stay with it and follow to steps closely and you'll get it.
Can you say how to solve it when there is one corner left?
R', D', R, D until the corner is oriented should fix it. I explain this toward the end of the video.
is mine corner twisted my top later cross wont work
It could be that yours is different; I'm not sure. Try to pause the video at some point and make sure yours is like mine; if it is, this method always works for me so it should for you as well. Good luck!
The algorithm at 18:24 is not working for me
Never mind it worked thx
Thx this is the only vid that helped out of all of the axis vids
good tutorial, don't listen to those mf in the comments
For some reason, on the last layer two of the corners are flipped. Only 2 of them. The cube is solved (like its back in square formation) but two of the inside triangles are flipped. I dont know what happened😭
It sounds like you just need to do the corner orientation on the two that are flipped. R', D', R, D until the first one gets fixed, then fix the second one the same way.
Every time time I get to the last part it always scrambles the cube
You may want to check out my 3x3 tutorial and watch the last step which is orienting the yellow corners. It's the same process on the axis cube; maybe it can help you see the step a little more clearly.
@@daniellee560 I have gan and I practice the turns on it but when I replicate it to the cube it doesn’t but I’ll try
I don't know what am I doing wrong, I do the exact thing you do and it works for you but not for me
The last layer can be tricky; you have to be very careful with the rotations and algorithms. Don't give up; you'll get it!
@@daniellee560 thank's I do everything in the video but none of theese tutorials work, don't worry I'm not gonna give up
Trying to solve the cube for 2 days until i realized it had on side turned so it can never be solved. 10 hours of starting from scratch it time it came to the last detail moment
Keep practicing and you'll be able to solve it in just a few minutes. Glad you didn't give up!
@@daniellee560 if only i wasn’t that stubborn that twisted piece would have stopped me from solving
I can't get passed 15:00
I always mess it up and have to start over.
will update when I get passed
I made it to 17:33
I am too scared to touch it,
don't want to lose all the progress.
now I solved it.
finally got it back in the box
help the cebter is rotaged 90 degrees
I always orient my centers at the beginning. You can try an edge swap on the face with the rotated center, then redo that last layer. If that doesn't work, you may need to start over.

So hard solving😢
SOS i can not understand the rotation where it starts and where to stop... So confused and disappointed!!
From 2x2 to 5x5 i have no problem but this is already 2 months unsolved... 😢
I know this cube can be really confusing; remember, the centers are the small, square pieces that have two colors. Everything rotates around those. The single color triangle pieces and the tri-colored pyramid pieces are the corners. Everything else is an edge. Pick a center, and try to orient yourself to the edges and corners surrounding it. A corner never rotates while touching a center, so a rotation would be turning a side 90 degrees until the next edge lines up with the center you are looking at. Once you get used to this, it's like seeing the code in the Matrix; even with the cube mixed up, you'll be able to tell how to rotate the edges around a center. If all else fails, order a second cube and really get used to it before mixing it up; that may help you solve the first cube more easily.

Only chapter 4 not clear 🥲

We all know his solving-the-cross algorithms don't work all the time for all cases, you gonna get real stuck, regardless how many times you try the algorithms again and again, you can only then scramble up the cube and do it again, hopefully you get the case you saw in the video.
Please Daniel, don't waste people's time if you don't really know how to solve the Axis. You lied in the video too.
You guys should go check out other tutorials.
I solve it every time using this method and I talked about the different situations that can happen and what to do in each. I don't know how that means I lied in the video. Maybe if you were more specific we might could figure out what the issue is.
Bro you gotta work on your cube knowledge lol they are algorithms for a reason, they work every time. The third layer might take a couple of times using the algorithms to get it right but saying that the algorithms don't work makes you look dumb. You don't need to mess the cube back up, you just need to do it right. The only part his setup that was lucky was the middle pieces not being rotated. You can solve the cube without having the middle rotated the right way, just like a normal cube but its flat so you don't realize they rotate on the same face. Once you get to the end and all that is left is to rotate the middle pieces, use (R U R' U) 5 times and it will rotate it 180 degrees.
@@park_sapp You know what makes a mindful tutorial? You're gonna cover up all the cases. Period. He was just going along with what's going on and that's the problem.
You don't even know which part I'm talking about and you dumb brain chimed in too fast to bark sh•t. 🙄🙄🙄
I commented 3 months ago after I had learnt how to solve it.
That 5 times at the end you said, you think everybody got stuck at that easiest part? And really Parker? Just perform the algorithm at 18:17 multiple times and you're gonna receive that blue & red piece in a correct place at 18:35??????? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 🤣🤣🤣
What if all 4 edges haven't got flipped correctly yet? That algorithm at 18:17 is used to swap the edges to the correct positions, so the edges flush with the center piece. He got lucky cos 1 or 2 of the edges has been flipped correctly already, that's why we have the case shown at 18:35. If none of the edges have been flipped correctly, you perform the algorithm at 18:17 til the rest of your life and nothing will happen.
You Parker a.k.a the dumb brain better shut your mouth. You work your mouth faster than your brain that's why you make a fool out of you. And well yeah, guess you have knowledge of algorithms from a brain of a 5 year-old. 😂🤣
And for your stupid brain, "the lucky middle piece" does not exist hahahahaha. Because all the algorithms used to solve the last layer of the Axis work to rotate the edges or swap the edges but they keep the middle piece THE SAME PLACE.
Learn to spell "algorithm" before being delusional enough to apply it. 🥹🥹🥹

@@PiCyclone is that why it took you 3 months to learn how to solve a variant version of a 3x3? He made this tutorial assuming that whoever was watching had started with the first cube you should learn to solve lmao if you know how to solve a 3x3 the tutorial is just a guide to help you adjust to looking at the cube on an axis instead of a flat face. It is, down to the core, the exact same cube as a standard 3x3.. for how smart you seem to think you are, I’d assume that an R U R’ U would be common sense to rotate a center into the right spot.. this cube took 10 minutes to learn how to solve and there’s no reason for you to be going at creators throats because your dumb•ss couldn’t figure out how to solve a Rubik’s cube
