🎤 Lyrics
I will survive without you
Don't tell me that you wanna leave
If you wanna leave
I won't beg you to stay
And if you gotta go darling
Maybe it's better that way
I'm gonna be strong
I'm gonna do fine
Don't worry about this heart of mine
Just walk out the door
See if I care
Go on and go, but
Don't turn around
'Cause you're gonna see my heart breaking
Don't turn around
I don't want you seeing me cry
Just walk away
It's tearing me apart that you're leaving
I'm letting you go
But I won't let you know
I won't let you know
I won't miss your arms around me
Holding me tight
And if you ever think about me
Just know that I'll be alright
I'm gonna be strong
I'm gonna do fine
Don't worry about this heart of mine
I will survive
I'll make it through
I'll even learn to live without you
Don't turn around
'Cause you're gonna see my heart breaking
Don't turn around
I don't want you seeing me cry
Just walk away
It's tearing me apart that you're leaving
I'm letting you go
But I won't let you know
I wish I could scream out loud
That I love you
I wish I could say to you
Don't go
As he walks away
He feels the pain getting strong
People in your life
They don't know what's going on
Too proud to turn around
He's gone
Don't turn around
'Cause you're gonna see my heart breaking
Don't turn around
I don't want you seeing me cry
Just walk away
It's tearing me apart that you're leaving
I'm letting you go
Baby don't turn around
Don't turn around
Just walk away
It's tearing me apart that you're leaving
But I'm letting you go
Don't turn around

Im so grateful I got to grow up in the 90's. The times were different. People were different. They interacted with each other instead of being glued to their cell phone. The 90's just had a certain vibe and feeling to it that can't be explained, you just had to be there. But for those of us that were there, it will never be forgotten.
TikTok is the mother of all toxicity hahahaha Thankfully i did not sell my souls to China yet hohohoho

Same. But on the same note...you can visit the past anytime you want, but nobody is there but you. Can't live there.

Здравствуйте ! Я из РОССИИ, и я тоже выросла на этих песнях, и мой ребёнок тоже их слушает, и втоком восторге, что в наше время ( 1980, и 1995,год были классные песни.
They were so ahead of their time. Still sounds fresh in 2024.
The Nineties was the last pre-internet decade. Music and videos were really appreciated back then. They had so much value in that era. The good thing about the internet and youtube is it allows people to stay connected to such a decade.
Ace of Base was a legendary pop band and this 30 year old hit reminds fans of that.

I am not nostalgic, but in this case, I would like to go back to that time even for a moment, and see my young wife next to me, my parents, my loved ones. Just a few moments, to say thank you to them for being by my side, put aside myself and live to give them my best. Just for a moment...

Please turn around back to the 90's.
Ace of Base is one of those very few bands that seems to have consistently one good song after another, even with full albums where every song is great! And they are the test of time in the fact that these songs sound better than ever and never get old! So many memories throughout the years associated with their majestic music!
I think the reason for this is that they didn't really care about making hits and money.
Artists these days only wants number one hits, and their goal is to get as much money as possible. They rely on trendy things, and they almost never put their soul into their work. They just force it, kind of. Often times they make songs that are annoying or just straight up weird. They want their song to get stuck in your head, they want you to either love or hate it so that you decide to click their music video or just google the artist so that they get more views/clicks/exposure.
Trendy things doesn't age well, neither does annoying songs etc. A joke gets old after a while you know... Also this destroys mainstream music because now other artists need to top this sh!t with something even more annoying etc. We only end up with pop songs that just tries to get your attention. Songs about shaking your butt, what an animal sounds like... what is this
Ace of Base was all about having fun, they didn't really care about trendy things, instead they did their own thing, they made their own sound and that's why it doesn't get old, it's genuine. That's why they are so good, they still make people smile, even now about 30 years later.
Same thing with Abba, Michael Jackson, Queen etc. It's rare to see artists like this. We don't have anyone like that in 2021, everything is just heavily manufactured and soulless. A pop star today is not about talent, it's more about what you look like and if you allow people to use you as a money maker. Of course you need to be able to sing too, but often times you just need to be average because they have people who can make you sound perfect by manipulating your voice etc. It's like a factory, massproduced.
@@magoria1382 Indeed! You summed it up pretty well. The most fascinating thing about Ace of Base is also how they never knew or expected where their success would lead to in all of this, so everything of their talent was completely innate. Down to even many of their styles and the ambience which gives them a signature "branding" in the Music, and this is something that has been under attack in the Music Industry and especially with what the Record companies want. The amount of different moods and when The history behind the whole deal of how their influence in America was challenged by some of the ridiculous demands of the American ways and Recording Studios here.
I respect everything so much about all of their members. In the reflections and interviews that Ulf had given about the Band’s course of history and how things evolved over time for them, I admire that he and even Jonas explain things exactly as they are, and never try to be or seem as something they aren’t. Ulf also rightly criticized how the “American Music Scene” was in comparison to the Swedish Culture of doing things, and noted very astutely about how Money-oriented everything is in America, in every sense of the word, and how ridiculous the contracts with the record companies here are. While Jealousy is a natural human emotion, there is a particular very toxic form of it that permeates the fabric of every aspect of life here, and to where it cannot accept something to the level of perfection like Ace of Base in their most natural and uninhibited form.
You can know for certain that if it was an American band, that they would try to make anything, even an exit of a member, or a disbanding of a group to seem to look “better” than the true story of what happened, or adjust everything to the likeness of “Trendy / Acceptable” Culture.
What you state is true about all the current Modern Bands. For example, even if a Modern Pop singer comes out, you will never hear some unique style of their own in singing with their vocal inflections, or an ambient masterpiece the way Ace of Base has done things, such as like in “Happy Nation”.
Swedish magic (like that other group)

By 1994 I was 38 and wasn't too much into new music but when I heard a rare awesome song on the radio I had to add it to the collection. This was definitely one of them. Love it's amazing beat and her amazing vocals. This is both an amazing song to hum to sleep and to wake up to in the morning. Linn Berggren's voice gets a hold of the heart and stays there. Firstly, I absolutely love Ace of Base. Literally the first band from my childhood that I can really remember getting absorbed into as I listened to it. But I’ve noticed that their songs are always on-the-upbeat & ska-esque in terms of the synth/percussion. Like, almost without fail.

I use to ride a bus almost daily across the bay near San Francisco on the buses back in early 2000 and the bus driver played this entire CD on repeat every time he picked me up. I started to fall in love with the words and the beat. So you should write your likes or dislikes, what memories they awaken.... Things like that. The comments are here for a reason. Why do you think a lot of videos have their comments turned off? From an era when most music didn't suck.
Preech......compared to now....some of the music today sounds like why and who in the hell gave these people a 🎤 mic, let alone a record deal
Modern music is digitally "compressed", in that each note, vocal or sound is at the same volume, so that nothing is "lost". Songs originally recorded onto a vinyl "master" (in that era) played back as recorded, with different volumes, suttle nuances, that can easily be detected by the subconscious mind. This is described as "happy music", or even an entire era of "songs that touch me". Attend a live concert, or just listen to birds sing as the sun comes up and you'll see what i mean.
For real! From pop, to rock, to dance music, hip-hop/R&B and even country...all of it was good!
