    David, I'm just one of many who have commented this, but I wanted to reach out and thank you sincerely for all of the preparation videos you've created surrounding the PMP. Like many, I scored above target on all three areas of the PMP exam today, and I know I couldn't have done that well unless I had referenced so many of your comprehensive videos surrounding agile and waterfall projects and methodology. It was pretty challenging, but I thought of your words of encouragement throughout your videos and it really helped. Thank you so much sir for all the hard work I'm sure it took to put material like this up for us to use.

    Hi David, like many others here I am here to say my regards. I have been on project mgm study since 2007. I was preparing on and off couple of times, but felt completely not ready, when had taken practice tests. The reading of PMBOK book always puts you in hibernating state. It was you who encouraged every time that I can pass and it really works even though you don't know me. I was able to pass my exam yesterday with above target results in all domains. Your 3 videos on Agile, Waterfall and PMBOK tests are absolute treasure. There wasn't a single same question in the exam, but your explanation helped to get the principles, and technique of removing the wrong answer helped really big. Even your pace of review helped, as the biggest challenge was to keep up with the time. With hours of practice with your videos, I was able to learn the correct pace. Or was it because I watched at 1.5 speed? maybe. All in all thank you for your help!

    Hi Sir! I just stumbled upon your channel and I’m in awe as to finding the best teacher to follow through my PMP exam once I’m done with achieving the CAPM certificate. However , I was intrigued to find no videos related to securing the CAPM exam with step-by-step guide or study materials to delve in to , apart from the PMBOK 6 . Would you please recommend as to how I would be able to go about with it?

    • @davidmclachlanproject
      @davidmclachlanproject  Před rokem +1

      Good question! They are generally the same materials / information - CAPM needs Predictive, Agile, and then some Business Analysis information (which is recent/new). Predictive can come from the PMBOK 6 (now the Process Groups Practice Guide), Agile can come from the Agile Practice Guide, and the business analysis information can come from the "Scope" knowledge area in the PMBOK 6/PGPG. PMI also has a "Guide to Business Analysis" if you want extra added BA information 🙂

    Hey David!
    Firstly, many thanks for the most amazing content!
    I am a civil engineer gearing up for CAPM exam which I will take after 24th of July. However, I am finding it hard to grasp the concepts of PMBOK 7. The information presented in it overwhelms and disorients me as it feels very generic as opposed to engineering which was very technical. Could you help me in this regard by sharing your most valuable input?
    Thanks and Regards!!

    • @davidmclachlanproject
      @davidmclachlanproject  Před rokem +2

      Much respect to you! You are doing the right things.
      Start with the Process Groups Practice Guide (previously the PMBOK 6). It is a process, step by step, and outlines where everything fits together (which is why I love it the most). But it's also pretty big. Once you have a handle on that, the PMBOK 7 will make more sense 🙂

    Hey David - any advice for how to focus DURING the PMP exam? I'm planning to take it from my computer, but am already having a hard time focusing for long periods of time with the practice tests. Help!

    • @davidmclachlanproject
      @davidmclachlanproject  Před 4 měsíci +1

      Excellent question 🙂 I've done both at home and at a test center. I personally preferred the test center for that reason.
      I would recommend sitting at home and listening to the sounds for a bit - I had a really loud clock (that I didn't notice until I had to concentrate!) that put me off 🤣
      Apart from that, practice a few things:
      Long practice exams, to get used to it, and;
      Meditation. Try counting your breaths at home, up to 10, then restarting (or restarting if you lose count). 10 minutes a day is usually enough.
      In your exam, focus on your breaths (or take three deep breaths) if your mind starts to wander.
      During the exam if you lose focus, flag the question and move on to the next question. Don't get stuck. You can always come back to it, but remember to answer one every 1 minute and 15 seconds if you can.
      Superstitions also work (there's science behind this, but more than a comment can elaborate on) if you have an outfit or something that "makes you a focus superstar", wear that on the day 🙂
      Remember, YOU CAN DO IT! I believe in you.

      @user-ii8qf6mc4m Před 4 měsíci

      @@davidmclachlanproject Wow! Thank you so much for responding quickly! I work from home, so am used to the sounds. I'll definitely take your advice on flagging questions and not getting stuck. I find that sometimes on the practice tests I re-read the same question several times and still have no idea what it says! I'll flag and keep going to maintain pace and help with focus. I also didn't even think of what to wear! Thank you for always being so positive and encouraging! I actually finished a full PMP course and after finding you on CZcams, I purchased yours as well and have been reviewing! You're the best!
