The stretched hair in the front may be caused by tension damage. Remember our hair has elasticity like a rubberband. The front part is usually looser than the back because we tend to stretch it more especially when we pull our hair back into ponytails and buns.
Another thing to factor is as our hair dries... it shrinks. So imagine what happens to our stretched out strands that are drying in a stretched state.... the same exact thing as a rubberband that dried while stretched out.... the elasticity breaks down.... this is why moisturizing and deep conditioning our hair is important. To bring back the juice.
What I tend to do for the front of my hair now since Im military and wear buns all day... I moisturize the part I pull back daily with water, some sort of hair lotion... then gel it down... I dont go for tge sleek look anymore... it be wavy. For my ends and the part thats held by the hairtie... i drench it with water & hair lotion and either bun it up or let it hang.
In short... I do not allow my hair to get too dry. The outermost layer may dry during the day ... but its ok because I redo it again the next day. Its helped tremendously with my curls.
Lastly, since no one wants to be a greaseball... the key is to find products that will moisturize your hair without having you look like your soul is glowing (coming to america jheri curl reference😂).
M Darden yes coconut oil , water and aloe Vera holds us down for a while
For me the middle front section is a loosest texture on my head, the front sides are 4c , the back is 4b and my nape is like 4a. It looks like she just has multi textured hair. Even when I was relaxed this texture always blended easily with my weaves but my hair on the side, when I did a side part needed more work.
M Darden, thank you Battle sis the struggle from wearing them cover daily does dry out my hair. An when I do oil my hair my hat gets oily fast...lol yes we rock them buns daily...(AF battle)
@M Darden this is too long but kinda helps
Thank you
Makes sense
Just want to say thank you. I always thought that the hair gene skipped me because my hair never grew down my back like my sister and brother. Then I did your aloe vera oil and detangler, in addition to going back to using products that I know work for my hair instead of trying every old product endorsed by low porosity hair CZcamsrs (my fault for not learning about my hair type, porosity, density, etc). I also sleep with a cap at night which I never knew was important. I'm now a believer because my hair grew a whole inch in 2 weeks. It's softer, stronger and healthier. I got 2 other people started on this aloe vera oil and they got the same result. For reference, I have fine 3a-3b high porosity hair, I wash my hair 2-3 times a week, my shampoo/conditioner/leave in/deep conditioner are from Garnier whole blends and I also use pink Luster's Moisturizer. I deep condition every time only 1 minute and do the LOC method or I guess the LO method because I don't really use creams because my hair is so fine. My hair does not like castor oil, argan oil, amla, fenugreek, or shea butter so if that's you too, you're not crazy or doing it wrong, just stop using them. Rice water I only leave on my head for 15 minutes as a pre-poo and I have to deep condition after otherwise my hair gets hard so I've done away with that. I soak my aloe vera leaf in water for 30 minutes before use to remove the latex. I want to add that I make more oil than mercy and just leave it out. So far, it's working well and hasn't gone bad for the past 2 weeks. Good luck to everyone on their natural hair journey. Don't give up. It's easier to do these natural treatments than you think.
I have aloe in my back yard and want even using it! Started recently and sis my life has Changed. No joke.
I have aloe in my yard too and entrance to the house. Do you use it as a pre poo/detangler, leave in or deep conditioner? Did you make the aloe oil?
I see my hair growing by only watching your videos and following the steps..... thanks alot my notifications always on
Mercy this is perfect timing. Just got my Aloe earlier today and wanted to use it as a detangler. Can’t wait to try this! Thank you
Rep,ies😊
After watching your videos i started my Aloe Vera journey and this is my second week.
Love the result am getting 👌🏾❤.
Thank you so much 👏🏾
Mercy you have absolutely inspired me I started with my natural hair treatment only 3 weeks ago just by watching your videos, haven't noticed any growth yet but like u said I have to be patient
Thank u very much for the inspiration hope I can get the same growth as you
Please continue making these videos they help a lot
Any more tips on growing edges I absolutely killed my edges
Lots of love
Same here I am on my second week.
You can still get your edges back, I chopped my hair of 3 weeks ago and I can say that my edges are really coming back. The first thing you need to know is to understand your hair type. Then you look at treatment that works for you, note it is not all the treatment you see that works for your hair type. Then you need to free your edges by doing protective styles. You need to be consistent in your treatment and patient like you say. And most importantly you need to eat healthy, eats fruits and good food. That is what have been doing and am still shocked with the way my hair is growing. Also avoid hash chemicals on your hair. Treat your hair like a baby
Just get some jamaican black castor oil and pass it on your edges like 3 times a week for growth because black castor oil is really good for hair growth
Im sooo inspired too... I've always had natural hair but wasnt really caring it a long time ago
I'm so glad I found this! I am trying this on me and my girls. I had two leaves left from a detox and now I going to use tbem! Thanks for being so thorough
Glad to hear you say that you have different textures of hair in different parts of your head. Now I know that's normal. My daughter's hair since infancy has displayed 3 VERY different textures and curl patterns-- nearly straight around the sides & and back (big curls), super curly in the top & middle. Thanks for confirming...& thanks for all of your detailed help in your videos!
Just saw your video last week and tried this a couple of days ago. OMG! This was wonderful. I also added black castor oil after the wash and my hair is incredibly soft. Thank you.
Thank you for this video. It helped me so much. It's been about a year since I have washed my hair. I merely just parted my hair with my fingers & massaged Sea Breeze on the scalp.
I followed the Sea Breeze routine every 3 mos. as my form of cleaning the scalp. I then put my hair in 4 braids.
My hair is so fricking thick and past my shoulders, so it tangles badly. Your Aloe Vera advice helped my hair to detangle before washing. I mixed a TB of moringa powder & an avocado w/my Aloe Vera in a blender. I kept it in my hair for maybe 20 mins and then used my Aphogee Shampoo--braided hair again in 4 braids. I think by SAT, I might flat iron it.
I lost a lot of hair because I became impatient with detangling hair, but trust me my hair was almost fused together B4 the Aloe Vera.
This remedy will now allow me to wash My hair once a month. I struggle with hair because I haven't gone to a salon since this pandemic. I had 2 strokes in 2015, so although I regained maybe 80-85% of my strength, it's challenging to deal with hair. I no longer use hair relaxers since SEP 2018. I'm now all natural. 😪 I do miss that!
Again, thanks for the Aloe Vera tip!
CELESTE, in the ATL 🌼
Just came back from Walmart I have every ingredient that you have I'm ready! to go also I ve been applying aloe vera under my eyes to remove dark circles from under my eyes! Thanks Mercy! You rock!
It's great as a face mask
I think all hair has it's own little characteristics that makes it unique. For me, the backside of my hair always grows longer than any part of my hair. I have cut it many times so it can be even with the rest of my hair, but it just grows back. Your hair is pretty just the way it is sis.
Exactly.
I also have my back hair more curler than the front section, it annoys me a lot too 🤣🤣🤦♀️ I tried cutting it as well but it grew back the same 🤷♀️
My hair does that too! The front doesn’t curl as well as the back or sides. :( just found your channel! Love it!
Love your videos! You natural hair is my goals!! You’re classy, beautiful , and informative! Keep making great videos!
Can I spray the aloe Vera under my crochet braids (on to my scalp and real hair) ?
Thanks for all the advice with the Aloe Vera. I bought my Aloe Vera from Stockton Aloe 1. It was pretty expensive but i needed a lot of Aloe. They freeze it and quick ship it to you. You don't have to go through any of those steps. You get two jugs of pure aloe. I will be using it for multiple uses including drinking a small amount daily. But i do wanna thank you. I knew about Aloe but for some reason you woke the idea up again and i took it and ran with it if that makes sense. Also you do have older guys like myself watching your videos for ideas. Shalom !
Love this video! I have scalp psoriasis and I'm going to try and use this for it. Also, my hair has different patterns as well with no damage at all. That's just how it grows.
Lauren Ballard-Coleman Hey Lauren, how does the aloe work for you scalp psoriasis? 🤔 just curious on the benefits? Do you see any improvements? Please share thx.
Same do you see anything I need to try it for my psoriasis
Mercy I love your videos and I am at this moment trying this on my hair as well as my son whose hair is thinning from wearing hats. So here goes and I'll definitely let you know how it worked out..
Hey Mercy. My daughter and I just got the aloe, and we gonna use it tonight. We love your channel. Love & Hugs from South Africa❤
I'm also from S.A. and there are so many aloe Plants which 1 are u using
Im in SA too. I bought aloe ferrox and I will see today how similar it seems.
I'm not a female... but watched the video anyways. I like to see such thorough well done videoooooo. Nice one jue.
You have sooooo much hair! 😍Not sure of your hair texture but I'm thinking between a 3b/4a? Also, to test the porosity of your hair, take a few strands of clean hair (either a few days after you have freshly washed your hair or just apply some shampoo to the hair you've taken, wash and rinse it) and a bowl of room temperature water. Place the hair in the container of water. If the hair quickly sinks to the bottom, you have high porosity (your hair absorbs water very fast). If it sinks somewhat but stays in the middle, you have normal/medium porosity. And if it stays afloat, you have low porosity (meaning your hair does not absorb water quickly). Nice video!
Yes! My crown and closer to the front of my hair, has a completely different curl pattern. Thanks for this videos! Going to be trying it today
Mercy you are a blessing. Your video just popped up on my screen and I decided to watch it. Just seeing your hair, I immediately made a decision to cut my hair. Its been three days now. My hair is naturally a kinky one so am a bit scared if I will be able to manage it with the natural products. Wish me luck.
Remember sis have alot of patience and take time to get to know your hair to figure out what products work best. 💘
your videos make me speechless me and my mom watch u in the morning till night so I have shoulder length hair and I'm going to do aloe Vera tomorrow please reply and make many more videos on hair bc there r a lot of people loving u including me
I agree with you...I love love love aloe vera!!!! it really grows my hair and it grows it FAST!!!! I spray my hair almost EVERY DAY with it and I purchase my aloe vera from walmart in that big jug they sale for 6.98 (nothing fancy or work) like cutting the aloe vera plant....Try it ladies and be faithful with using it and you will really see growth and how healthy it makes your hair.
Hi kede. After reading ur post on aloe vera. Can u please tell me wat the bottle looks like would like to try the aloe vera you mentioned...thanx
My hair is exactly like yours, where the front is looser curl pattern than the back. When I first transitioned, I cut the front so much more than needed because I thought it still had relaxer on it
Girl we need you to make a lenght check video you hair has grown sooo much 🤗🤗🤗
I'm not a "3A-4C" type, but I love watching your videos. So satisfying. I wanna transition but I'm nervous. I'm not good with taking good care of hair.
Go for it. You wont regret it!
Caramel Goddess I’m not either but trust me once you see the growth after the transition period, you fall in love with yourself all over again and you’re gonna be motivated to care for and maintain your hair.
Thanks to you, I didn’t have to drive across town to Sprouts or Whole Foods! I have a Mexican meat market 3 minutes away from me! Thank you! I wouldn’t have ever thought to check there!
I love watching your videos on how to care for your hair. Thank you
I've used it for a couple of times. Arganrain Argan oil does make those softer. I apply on my hair except for the scalp and leave it for 15 minutes.
Great video. I did it this morning. It is an amazing detangler and super moisturizing.
Going to try this on my hair tomorrow and record it for my channel too. Just removed my knotless braids today and need to detangle. Thanks for sharing, hair twin 😉🤗.
your hair is indeed 4c but it has a mixture of 4b in there. My hair is starting to look like yours as it grows longer. My texture has changed tremendously over the years, i still cant tell if its because of the products i use or my hormones changing. But i used to have those really really tightly curls... now.. alot of it is looser.
It can be the reasons you mentioned, but also as we get older, our hair texture can also naturally change as well...at least it has for me and several people I know.
YOU ARE DEFINITELY 4B AND NOT 4C💯
OUR 4C HAIR IS MUCH NAPIER, CURLIER AND MUCH HARDER TO DEAL WITH THAN YOURS LBVS🤷🤣🤣
Hi Mercy. I just started watching your videos. I'm so jelly of your long and full hair. Q: what products do you use to grow your hair? My hair is just about 4 inches since i had my big chop in 2017 and decided to only go natural. Now i only want to use all natural hair growing products. Thanks.
Can I apply the aloe Vera for my hair every day or once in a week
Hi Mercy, I have been following you for a while now. Thank you for showing us how to keep our hair but I’m in Ghana and I do not know if there’s any quality natural hair products here in Ghana. Please let me know if you have any product name in mind.
Hi Mercy! Thanks for the wonderful info! How much hair do you lose while using this method to detangle your hair?
To help the front of your hair regain it's natural curl pattern, while it's wet take your hand and stitch it up. It may never totally regain the initial pattern but will help get some of it back
Best method ever all the videos have been watching they blend it and after squeezing it takes a lot of time...I will try yours👍👍👍
Mercy, what do you do with all those left over chunks? I hope you dont throw them out. There is a way to get more juice. Instead of scooping out the chunks, you should scrape it. That way you have less chunks and more gel coming from it. Less wastage. Although it takes more time, it really is more effective
Got my aloe vera today & made my oil & water. I've been natural for about 5 years now but haven't had much growth and at one point had some damage. Trying to get it back to healthy state. Was on the verge of considering a texturizer when I started watching your videos. Thanks for the info! This hair care journey is tough! So many youtubers, too much products, etc to choose from. It can almost make you want to quit. Lol. You've inspired me to continue w/ the struggle. I too have many textures, get very dry & shrink like there's no tmrw. I am gonna chronicle how the aloe does. Love coconut & olive & castor oil. Had all those only needed the aloe. Thanks again!
Glad I found your channel, I will be getting an aloe vera leaf tomorrow to see what results I will get.
Now I see where I go wrong. Thank you so much I'll work on my hair.
P.S loving this
Hello Mercy. I would like to know after you complete your leave in treatment with aloe vera and add your mixer of oils what or how would you then wear your hair. I watched your twist out video so im assuming you would do this style maybe after you have completed your leave in treatment/oil mixer, or maybe a protective style?
Beautiful and blessed good morning Mercy do you leave in the Aloe juice and for how much days can it stay???
Hi, I'm very informed by this video! You're hair is beautiful and very healthy! I want to start this method for my 7 year old daughter who is natutal. Her hair is very thick but it seems to be growing slow. I have locs...how long do you us the Aloe Vera Juice? Until you see results? Once a month? And can I use it for my locs?
@Mercy Gono BSN, RN how long have you been using the aloe vera leaf before you started seeing hair growth and do you use any other products on your hair.
Beauty AND brains! Yasssssss!!!!! 💙
Hello Mercy 🤗 What do you do with your hair at night when you have a twist out? Do you wrap it or is there another technique you use? I’ve started twisting my hair and when it gets closer to wash day I would like to start taking it out and rocking it for a few days. SOS. ❤️❤️❤️
How do you keep your sheets so white? Every time I wear bonnets or go to sleep with semi damp hair, little brown spots come.
Im gonna start using the Aloe vera for the first time and i found your video so helpful. Thank you so much for the tips. I would like to ask thought if ia have to apply the juice from the aloe vera and sleep at nigh with it and next morning wash my hair? Also i want to ask about the oil from the Aloe im so confuse. Can you explain me please? also your hairs look amazing!!!
Am wondering can I just buy aloe Vera gel / water from Whole Foods for this...
I actually used to use it to coat my stomach and help with digestion problem
Hello, Hello, Hello there again. Thank you or sharing this information and I am going to try it because I know it is great for burns, itchy skin/scalp, etc. Amen
Hi thanks for sharing I can't wait to try,if am to wash it i should wash it after how many days.
Thanks dear for this simple video...🔥🔥 I will be trying this method
Yesssss thank you! Love this! IT WORKS!!!
Yes girl!! The back of my hair is mad curly!!! Like I don’t get it. I just purchased 3 aloe Vera leafs yesterday to make oil, juice and pre-poo and my hair skin and nails vitamins. I’m definitely on this hair growth journey. Thanks Mercy for all your tips 💋
Hey Ginap7 where did you purchase the leaf???
Monique Family & Lifestyle vlogs I got them at ShopRite
I love your hair tips❤️
Hi! So what do you do with the leftover aloe vera product (the non juice portion), is that thrown out or used for something else, like skin? Thank you.
Even though my aloe Vera didn’t come out as juicy as yours it’s very thick I don’t know why but I like how it makes my hair feel. I need tips on how to make my aloe Vera more into a juice so I can spray it on my hair
Gorgeous head of hair as usual..
I can try this method if my hair doesn't need further protein some call it protein sensitive
Hello Mercy thanks for showing us nice natural way of treating our hair. How do I stop my hair from breaking and I would like yo stop relaxing my hair
Hair goals💜
Hi mercy. I made the aloe vera oil with coconut oil and olive oil and I had a little left. After 2days, i noticed a gel-like residue in the mixture. Is it still useful
Also, Can the remaining aloe vera juice be stored in the refrigerator for another time or it should be discarded?
Please do not cut ur Hair Mercy, Your Hair look inspire me alot on my Natural Hair journey. I don't have much Hair like yours so I don't use the Aloe Vera as a Detangler rather just spray it on my Cornrows, massage it in the Hair and leave it to dry in it.I've noticed a great change in my Hair Texture ,thanks to you.
How do you use also on grey hair
I am new to your channel and I love your video so far! Beautiful beautiful hair!!!
Hello Mercy love your videos. My hair is braided. What should I oil my scalp with or what should I do for hair growth?
Your channel has inspired me so much to get on CZcams!
Hi Mercy. I love your videos. I’m transitioning to natural hair. Can I use the aloe vera to detangle my hair and then simply style it into a bun? Or is it compulsory to wash it out?
Oh my God.. I have alovera at back of my house.. Wow thank u girl..
Your hair is soo beautiful
Am struggling for growth
Will try this right away
I specifically went to the supermarket for aloe.. Im super ready 😂 😂 😂!
Hi Mercy! How long do you leave this in your hair before rinsing it out?
Ur not the only one who’s hair is like tht. The front of my hair isn’t as curly as the back. I cut my hair off just to see if the front will be curly like the rest and nothing changed. I’ve heard of others having different curl patterns in different sections on their hair. I’d say don’t worry about it too much unless ur hair is unhealthy
Mercy Gono BSN, RN ur most welcome love 🥰
I need to try this! Do you buy the leaf at any grocery store? Thanks for sharing 💞
I love you Sis I'm always proud of myself knowing u. I used aloe vera on my hair earlier this week too, but I left it in for about 2 days is it okay
Thank u 4 replying me 😭😭 cos I really wantu b lyk u buh I nid more dedication
Hi Mercy..I'd like to know since there are different types of aloe Vera plants can 1 use any as long as u get the gel that is needed
Another nice video I have to try this one too, I use Aloe but I usually slap it on after I slice it, Thanks
Hi, could you share a tip or create a video on how you styled your hair and how you applied the aloe Vera when your hair was short. My husband just bought me my 1st wig and I want to get out of this relaxer and go natural. Than you💕I so enjoy your channel😊
Do you get white bits in your hair after using the aloe when the hair has dried
Started doing this, your hair is literally my goal
your hair looks healthy and strong
Girl your beautiful hair makes me want to go natural. I may cut mine and go natural ❤
Hello Mercy, I am new to your channel and I am very interested in the aloe vera juice or gel. I am sure that you have some interesting information to share and I am willing to listen so that I can help my hair to get better.💗💖💓💞
I love your hair tips mercy 💖💖❤️❤️
Hello..my granddaughter had is very thick..course and dry. I'm watching your video and will start hair care your doing. Question.are you putting the alo vera in as a detangler before AND after washing the hair? Her hair tangles up so quickly after washing .
does it work for relax hair, and how often should I use it for best results
Hi Mercy
So useful video with No chemical☺️
My hair is very thin and short right am getting bald at the middle my edges is a problem am going to try this product how many hours leave in before wash .and can I used my regular shampoo and conditioner .Looking forward hearing from you .Thx
Mercy, after you spray the aloe, then What ? Do you style it or shampoo it out?
I would like to ask you mercy that if l put the aloe vera into my hair, then detangle it, is it fine if l don't wash it again like wash out the aloe vera from my hair because for me l just wanna let it be into my hair. Thanks
The front of the hair is what gets the most stress so it reacts differently. Mine is the same. But when I am stressed I lose the most in the middle
Nice hair, and a very detailed, video, thanks.
Sister mercy, question do you put the rest of the juice in the bottle in the fridge or just out in room temp?
Mine is the opposite of yours, my front is super curly and my back is looser
Omg, I’m definitely going to try this on my channel girl! It makes your hair look so healthy and moisturized!
I’m older now a senior and been wearing natural hair for 35 yrs. I colored it because of course I do not like gray. However my hair does not grow in the front or back. I don’t know how to determine my curl pattern. When I apply water and cream it waves up.
