    This is the moment, one step for aquariophil a giant leap for corals :D. It's been so long before I start adding some corals in that aquarium.
    I really wanted to show all the processes I go through so this slow me down a lot for this competition but I hope you enjoy those episodes of nano reefing.
    Testing water parameter before adding is important, I know it might take some times, but the beginning of an aquarium is often critical, it get easier when the saltwater tank mature over time.
    I often use natural method to control some of my parameter, Chaetormorpha and Mussels/Oyster/Clam are a great example, I find it much easier that way and more economical also, but things like Alk, Cal, Mag, and other major trace elements need to be added with products to keep the balance of the aquarium.
    For Flatworm, you can use a damsel Springeri and wrasse in nano aquarium (mine might be too small)
    Otherwise, you can use a product like Salifert Flatworm Exit
    My review about it: • Salifert Flatwhorm eXi...

    The corals I added during this video are:

    Neon Green Finger Leather - Sinularia sp.
    Orange and Orange/Green Clove Polyp - Clavularia sp.

    Great additive choice! I used Carbo Calcium mixed with their bio magnesium and trace A- and K+ to create a do it yourself all for reef! You can gets kits from Bulk Reef supply or at least get the recipe from them.

    • @AquaSplendor
      @AquaSplendor  Před 4 lety +2

      Yes, thank you for the suggestion, I actually send a bunch of question to a representative from Tropic Marin, there's little thing I wonder about the carbo calcium, I might go with their all for reef. or maybe not... I don't know, because I do water change so i'm not sure if I need to, all the trace elements are replenished and I only really need Alkalinity I think (and a bit of calcium).
      At the very beginning I added some Alkalinity from Red sea (Didn't film), I don't have access easily to Tropic Marin tropic in my sector

    • @tylerjaax4917
      @tylerjaax4917 Před 4 lety +1

      Just know it is much cheaper to mix your own All for Reef if you do end up using that later. 😊
      Yeah, if your salt has elevated trace minerals it can help replace them when you do a big water change. But say if your potassium goes down to 350ppm and your salt has the parameter you want of 400ppm, even a 50% water change will only bring it back up to 375ppm.

    • @AquaSplendor
      @AquaSplendor  Před 4 lety +1

      @@tylerjaax4917 Yeah your right! Maybe I could try that famous recipe, maybe its worth it since its a small aquarium and quantity last longer.
      Yeah I usually on a the aggressive side of water change, just yesterday I made 60% water change, its huge, but its for the reason you mention.
      Perhaps a combination of both could be better, dosing All-For-Reef and cutting water change % to maybe like 33%.
      Every time I do big water change it makes me nervous for the corals and fish.

    • @AquaSplendor
      @AquaSplendor  Před 4 lety +1

      A little thing to add to this, I think we need to be really careful with the amount of dosing the trace elements to not precipitate them, positive and negative ion. And lets not forget the Bio magnesium also in that discussion :P
