    I love your videos Steve! I went to Malta last year after seeing your great videos.
    After seeing this one with the fountain now im curious. Can you do a video on where does Malta get its fresh water from?

    • @EnglishmaninMalta
      @EnglishmaninMalta Před 5 měsíci +2

      Sounds great! I did a few videos of our water supply, walking in different areas, We do not have much fresh water we have ground water which is obtained with a well which many farmers use, But the main water supply Since 1982, Malta has been 'producing' water through desalination of seawater. Around 20 million cubic meters of this water is produced at the three reverse osmosis plants in Pembroke, Ċirkewwa, and Għar Lapsi.

    That fountain looks so familiar, I doubt that I have seen it in person, I have looked at many pictures, videos (VHS and the internet), and books about Malta, I most likely have seen it one of those places. It's the fish on the fountain that looks so familiar.
    Living in Malta alone does not make a person fluently speak Maltese. The Maltese language is similar to Italian, to Spanish and to Arabic. Further more that's mean of that person to expect a person with an English accent, to replace their accent with another one.
    Some people spend way too much time acting superior over other people.

    Hi. Mr Englishman. You know what, each time I came to Malta and Went shopping there, I would speak Maltese to the assistants, but they would answer me in English. I mean, after 65 years in Australia, (68) now, I can still speak Maltese, but the Maltese seem to be forgetting their own language, which is sooo sad. Are they just showing off? 🥺

    • @EnglishmaninMalta
      @EnglishmaninMalta Před 5 měsíci

      Interesting! depends where you are shopping lol ( sliema maybe ) ? I dont think showing off, But maybe they notice you pronounced some words different and to make it easy they talk to you in English, it happens to me many times and makes my brain idle
