Man, you are a smart young dude! Imagine if a guy fired up his fresh motor without doing that, GRONK...I've been riding these bikes for decades and learned more from your videos than I can believe.
A full-time job and four kids, I tip my hat to you.
I'm a liked and subscribed old guy and I'll pay for your well done videos if I get brave enough to try this myself.

It would probably develop pressure very quickly since it would be spinning much faster than with the starter. The oil pump is pretty simple, not a lot to go wrong with it.

Matt, the bike is looking great, when people take their time things turn out so much better, never understood people working on things in a hurry (unless for emergency reasons), something always turns out wrong, thanks for the new video also, always enjoy your videos.

Matt, you have to fill the oil pressure hose for the gauge with oil because as you know air is compressible.
    Greetings Bernhard

I have never filled an oil pressure gauge hose with oil and have done this test many times on automotive engines. I think filling the hose would just make more mess.

      Red
The instruction in my pressure transducer manual state that if there is air in the hose or instrument the measurement is inaccurate.
Also, like Matt, you will have a delayed pressure indication since the air will compress first.
      Try it next time.

How about taking the oil pump gear from a junk unit and chucking it up?

  • @worldcollections2839

I think we need to measure the gaps of the inner rotor and oil pump body and all measurements like that so we can judge if the pump is working well or damaged ..

    Thanks for share!
For an one cylinder engine, do you know what is the average time that oil line gets operation oil pressure after engine starts? (not oil drained, not pump replaced, just cold start)
    thank to you!

That poor starter. Were you concerned you might burn it out with all that cranking? Another helpful video, Matt. Thanks!

    • @HTMR
      @HTMR  Před 4 lety +1

No. No spark plugs installed so load was low, therefore low current draw.
