Good video.. I'm glad you caught the Houston METRO Neoplan Artic's when you were in Houston last year, they are NOW all off roster & will soon be replaced by NOVA artic's similar to configuration used in NYC MTA..
Well you will only get that verity on the south side, on the HRT only operates low floors. BTW, other some Chance mini buses, HRT has an all Gillig fleet. They still have a fleet of Phantoms, but other than the 1800 and 1700 series, the Phantoms days are numbered. They have 30 foot BRTs, for shuttle service. The MAX is pretty much motorcoaches in a transit bus body. MAX buses are express buses.
The Novabus LFSs that HRT aquired. Were they built specifically as HRT units or were they rejects from another transit? I noticed that the seats may be different on the Novabus' then the Gilligs from looking online and I have noticed the Novas have USSC Q Series driver seats as the Gilligs have Recaro Ergo Metro. So I hope HRT didnt downgrade to USSC on newer buses.
Does Virginia have certain EPA regulations? I noticed HRT mostly had Cummins ISC engines on buses from 99-03 and ISL on diesels from 04 and up. And GRTC had C8.3s in the late 90s and started getting ISL sometime around 2001. So I wonder if there are regulations causing VA to be against Detroit Diesel Series 50 in the late 90s early 2000s. I know the Series 50 was discontinued in 2004 due to emissions standards.
