Jeff reacted to blind resumes to decide which Guardians deserve an All-Star bid this year.
We also discussed if a bat would be more impactful for the Guardians at the trade deadline rather than a front line starting pitcher.

Flaherty should be the trade focus. Won't need to completely sell the farm and we get a proven arm to anchor the rotation. There's A LOT of baseball left - we need an arm.

Feltner and Bichette would be exceptional fits IMO. Bo has started hitting again, and his defense can be replaced late in games once the lead is secured. Feltner is just way too perfect for this org

Potentially but puk is just another reliever he failed as a starter again and struggled in general this year seems like there are better choices
How is it that arguably the hottest hitter in baseball is taking a seat 3 of 4 games for a guy with half his batting average and a hr total that matches a weekly total for the other guy? They'd be better off trading Fry rather than freezing him out of his heater and watching his value decline.
Some hyperbole here, Brennan has played well of late and everyone gets off days
@@LockedonGuardians not sure where the extreme exaggeration is at? Fry has put up at least 1 week of 3 hrs (Bo's total for the season) and Fry has right at double Bo's BA as well. They had him sitting before yesterday's game was postponed, resulting in him sitting 3 of the last 4 scheduled games. Brennan has done well, of late, but I'm referring to Bo Naylor. Fry's bat has been on fire. It's very strange they aren't riding that.
Most teams would send Bo Naylor down for batting .173 over 133 ABs but they are playing him over a guy that's batting .342 on the season and leading the MLB in OPS (minimum 140 plate appearances).
No disrespect, but you sound like you don’t know much about baseball, or WHY Fry is used how he is.
And FWIW, I don’t think there are many teams that would send a guy with less than a year service time down for hitting .177 in under 150 PAs, at least not a guy who is leading all MLB catchers in framing.
@@davidwindell I'm no baseball expert but I do understand hot streaks and rhythm. Players can fall out of rhythm quickly and sitting a guy 3 of 4 games when he's playing out of his mind is a good way to get him out of rhythm. I'm asking for someone to make sense of it, for me, not tell me I don't know much about baseball and give zilch for useful info as to why Fry is being frozen out at this time.
Is Lindor but mets eat some if not half the salary an option? Thats my favorite move for this team! I think Frankie plays way better here, again!

Neither side are likely to do that. He hasn't been good enough and has shown decline and eating that much is unheard of for that length
