Too. He wrote this song as almost of all.
I think you completely missed the meaning of this song. James struggled with addiction and mental health problems and this is him saying he’s fighting to recover from in “in my recovery I’m a soldier at war”, that’s why he’s got his head down at times and the set flashes almost chaotically and that’s why he ends the song the way he does. He’s in a battle to recover.

This is one of my favourites from his first album!
Another point that hasn't been noted is the fact that he had a bad childhood. Volunteered himself into foster care to get away from his parents who hadn't spoken in like 20 years until he auditioned for the X Factor. Which he only did because his power was cut off and his mom said she would pay the bill only if he went to audition. Recovery isn't always drink and drugs. Unfortunately it can be from toxic family members or memories. Just saying.

Along with everyone else's explanations, let me add this. The breakdown right before the last chorus, or dubstep as you put it, represents the chaos in his head. A bit of research would be appreciated next time. Also, how could you call his vocal in Say You Won't Let Go "monotone"? James has never done anything monotone. There is raw emotion in everything he sings. Ridiculous
