Hey mate, good idea with the initial thoughts! That board looks like a lot of fun. I'd be interested to see how it goes with a twin + trailer fin setup. I think you'd need the trailer as it's not designed to be a twin but could combine well for that small wave, fast and loose feel.
looks mental! few questions.. 1. Can we get them in Oz ? 2. How does it paddle? like you said its a unusual combo to have a shorter board with more rocker.. does the fact that its wide and quite bouyant offset the rocker in terms of paddle power? 3. Whats the advantage of carbon wrapping and whats the weight compared with normal Pu or EPS tech. looks like a nightmare for the wax and probably warps if you leave it in the sun? guessing its extremely ding proof?
Hey mate! Let me give this response a crack: 1. Not sure - hit up Dark Arts on IG, but I know he sent surfboard empire some carbon wrapped Pyzels recently! 2. Paddles well - rocker doesn’t come into it too much when paddling and it paddles well! 3. So far it feels really lively, and it’s really light. Feels fairly durable through the deck etc. I try not to leave any boards in the sun, it really isn’t good for them! 😂
looks like a great board, I'm interested to know your body weight to the volume of the board (31litres). I personally enjoy a shorter board, but struggle to find a short board that provides the paddle power ito my weight. I therefore tend to choose larger length boards to make up the volume, but I find those boards "to big" ito length and more difficult to turn sharply. I was quite surprised to see how easy you paddle into the waves and the maneuverability on the board that is 5 inches shorter than your height. I'm an intermediate surfer and usually surf in less than ideal 1-3 ft conditions. Thank you!
Hey mate! I'm around 92kgs - but have always ridden quite low volume for my weight. This is a great board, so capable, nad really packs a bit of punch!
Yeah - it got bunched in with a few other boards, but i think it can be quite expensive. If you're interested, maybe hit me up on Instagram and I can see if a few people are keen and we can see if a batch ship would be cheaper! Justin's boards are epic, and i'm keen to try and get people onto them over here!
Hey! Search for “The Surfboard Guide” wherever you listen to podcasts! We’ve had Chilli, Britt Merrick and a whole bunch of other epic shapers on! And hopefully Justin Ternes real soon! ✌️
@@TheSurfboardGuide thank you! separately as a bigger surfer (same as myself) would you say to always go more thick and wide at your height or go more traditional dims for shortboard shape?
ConstantJive hey! I tend to go shorter and wider - I’m only 5’10.5, so you can sometimes end up on really long boards to get your volume if you don’t custom them a little!
Love this format - keep it up, yeeeww!
Thanks - yes, got a few more in the pipelines... 👍
Great work, I like the concept!
Thanks - got a few more coming!

Hey! I thought of the twin + 1, but it’s so loose and maneuverable that I don’t think it needs it... but we’ll see how we go! ✌️

Hey I like the format. Slightly off topic question but what fcs quad set up do you use?
Thanks mate!
Check out two two reviews ago, the Gerry Lopez “Squirty” as we talk through a few different quad sets! 👍
@@TheSurfboardGuide thanks. Will do.
Hi mate, how about an initial thought on the ci Sampler? :)
Haha! I think we’ve moved past that...
Epic board though if you haven’t ridden one - flat and fast! 👍
Did he send it you in Australia? was shipping expensive?
