Believe it or not, this story is based on the director‘s first romance when he was a boy in France. So yes, there are actually people living this in real life. I know. I‘m just as jealous and mad at the universe as you.

I bought this movie on iTunes, absolutely worth it watching.
To everyone saying it's unoriginal: it's actually based on a book (dance on my grave) which was pubished in 1982 (quite scandalous at the time! A ya novel depicting homosexuality! Somebody think of the children!), so it probably existed before most of the other stories that were turned into movies before this one
um so this movie broke me so warning anyone who wants to watch this movie don’t watch past 50:09 you’ll regret it and spend sleepless nights dying over it

Just finished watching this movie. It was great actually. The only part I didn’t really like was that Alex was being blamed for what happened to David but it was his own doing.

A beautiful film. Truly remarkable to see young men finding themselves whilst also falling for one another in the process. You can see how deeply flawed they are. But despite that, they will do whatever it takes to overcome the harshest critiques homosexuals face in modern day society. Nothing's too perfect in love stories. It's a journey worth seeing and investing your emotions into.

I was also in pain as Alex at the confrontation at the shop. Why David has to ruin Alex's dreams for both of them?? But I wish there should've been more time of them together!😔😔

Ho appena finito di leggere il romanzo di Chambers e l'ho trovato abbastanza buono come romanzo di formazione, niente scene particolari ma tante emozioni raccontante con scorrevole drammaticità.

Great movie, a touching sad love story. But the trailer almost makes it look like a murder mystery, a crime chase story where the girl divides the two and one kills the other out of jealousy or anger from being abandoned, when it isn’t that at all.

Well your expectations are far away from what the film is.
Probably, yeah. I’m not saying it IS or WILL BE a “Ripley” rip-off (heh). I’m just saying that, to me, that trailer seems to be portraying the story that way.
fun fact : The Talented Mr. Ripley was itself a remake of "Plein Soleil", a french-italian movie starring Alain Delon.
