    When he switches hand, his stroke carries different characteristics of spin and speed. That’s why it confuses his opponents and causes them to mishandle..

    • @ajtatosmano2
      @ajtatosmano2 Před 3 lety +5

      nope, just good placement and against ma long it was a pretty dead ball instead of the usual high topspin.

    • @leonawroth2516
      @leonawroth2516 Před 2 lety +4

      @@ajtatosmano2 Pretty sure that's what Xinzhong meant. There was way less top spin in the ball, that's why Ma Long put it in the net, anticipating more kick than the ball actually delivered.

    • @z0uLess
      @z0uLess Před 2 lety +3

      it is also sometimes efficient just because you get a longer reach, so you switch when anticipating that the opponent will take advantage of you being out of position, which increases your arsenal and makes it harder to outplay on position.

    • @KAF128
      @KAF128 Před rokem +2

      Absolutely agree with these folks. I can do this to a certain extent (not as well as the awesome TB !) as a right-hander who also coaches, and occasionally has to be able to demonstrate the 4 basic strokes to a young (left handed) beginner. It's a useful skill to have and wins me an extra 3 or 4 points a season in league matches, as the ball goes through a bit flatter than my regular strokes, as well as the general surprise element !
