Ha. Thanks to this series, I know now that it happened during clone wars. When I read the books, I didn't think much about it and just thought that it was all an elaborate hoax to enslave them.
I cannot wait to hear the words, "Consort of the Lady Vader", uttered to Han's disdain.
I still hold that up as one of the funniest scenes in Star Wars.
@@jaffarebellion292 Right! I think Zahn captured the continuity of the OT characters really well; there are times I have to remind myself that Han running down a hall while screaming with a blaster in hand was from "A New Hope" and not from being called the Consort one too many times by Khabarakh.
@@wilfred_ho To date, Khabarack is one of my all-time favorite Star Wars characters. I can't wait for Dark Force Rising to start getting animated.
Can we just appreciate the fact that Leia, despite having two children in her womb, was able to fight and survive against high-level assassins? Without a doubt, she was much more bada*s in this scene than in the entire Sequel Trilogy.
Yeah, Dave’s most important job for his movie, is to have the OG trio all together on screen, HTTE style, unlike the sequels.
@@ncard00 Filoni can't write. He couldn't write Thrawn if he took the pills from Limitless. Thrawn isn't even on the posters of Ajoka. Abandon all hope that Disney SW will ever yield anything that's anywhere near the genius of Timothy Zahn, the creator of Thrawn.

You've been watching Ahsoka? Ooof. The Thrawn Trilogy is my favorite SW series. By far. And hearing Ahsoka say the whole "Thrawn is returning as Heir to the Empire", obviously trying to shoehorn in this trilogy to sell D+ subs... Makes 'I don't like sand' sound beautiful and eloquent.

Amazing seeing a Venator and a clone wars battle in a book that predates the existence of either.
Good chapter. I like how you actually animated the devastation of Honoghr in the Clone Wars
Now THAT is the Leia I grew up with. This is her best scene in the book, imho.
Once all the chapters have been released, I can’t wait to see them all combined into a true full-length movie down the road.
A great chapter, as usual. Extra kudos for the Clone Wars era ships in the battle over Honoghr! I had always imagined them being early Imperial vs early Rebel ships, but this makes much more sense. Thanks for what you do!
Remember, it had to be the Clone wars. Leia realised this later once the older Noghri woman explained how much time had passed
@@SJHFoto That's right. I forgot about that. Still, I read this book for the first time when it first came out. Back then, we had no real concept of what the Clone Wars era really looked like, so my brain had to fill in the gaps.

I remember seeing it in 1991, and forking over the money for a hardcover volume (something I didn't do often in those days) I think I actually got this in '92. I believe I bought the hardcover of Dark Force Rising and this just came out in paperback

@SJHFoto Millenial here (jumping in uninvited). I love the EU books, and the Thrawn trilogy is definitely among the best. I probably read them 10-12 years after they came out.
Leia’s characterization is so cool in the Thrawn trilogy. I love how her experience in politics and intergalactic relations gives her an edge in working with the Noghri. And she inherited that confidence and quick wit from both her parents. Love to see the Skywalker-Amidala legacy radiating through her. Oh and yeah, she can blow up an enemy ship through stealth lightsaber attacks, too 😎
Kudos on that lightsaber swing scene :) Oh! And the battle above Honaghr!!!!

Incredible work! I felt more excitement watching this than Ahsoka episode 3.
Every episode gets worse. 3 was terrible in just about every relevant aspect.
This is far better than anything Disney has put out other than Rogue One, and Andor.
Yay a new chapter! Every time I see one of these I have mixed emotions: excited you're bringing life into a beloved trilogy and anger/sadness that this trilogy was not episodes 7-9. I really wish Lucas would've considered these books for episodes 7-9 back in the early 90s.
It's too late for them, my son. The Darth Angelus will show you the true nature of the sequels! He is your Master (of all things Star Wars) now! Hehe!
Thrawn is in Rebels, in Ashoka, and the beginning of Luke's Jedi Academy in the Book of Boba Fett ... I have a feeling Disney considers this Canon now and maybe we will have a live action version eventually ^_^ Even so Thank you DarthAngelus for animating the book!!!
Now that I've seen it, I must say I am even more impressed! Kudos for the flashback with the Trade Federation cruiser fighting to Venator Star Destroyers. I always took it as Anakin truly being concerned and landing, and then later as Darth Vader enlisting the Noghri. It makes sense as Anakin wasn't Vader yet during the Clone Wars, and also makes sense that he would have landed as the Noghri can smell Leia's heritage. If Vader was in the suit, no scent would have come to them
I could UHM ACKSHUALLY and say that the fight over Honogrh was techicaally just Acclamators i9n the Republic fleet but that was just a limitation of the Republic comics not knowing about the Venator and ARC fighters.
If Jon Favreau only noticed star wars content creators talents on CZcams , may be Favreau could start a Projekt fan film studios for those willing to continue they legacy of Canon and Legends materials .
Hope some day these creators with potential will be recognized to get the fundings and to collaborate all so extended the time stamp for 15 to 20 minuten episodes .
This is just a concept nothing more .
Still better than anything Disney's put out.

Another superb chapter - really appreciated the clone war flashback - of course when this trilogy (the one true sequel trilogy) first came out we had to imagine what the clone war era ships looked like since it was a decade before the prequels
Also, on a separate note, I want to thank Darth Angelus for retaining much of the cinematic style of the original trilogy. He doesn't give in and do the trendy "shaky cam" or drain the color of the image to maximize that blue/orange look made popular by transformers and has just taken over every movie since. lol thanks Darth Angelus for having cinematic integrity.

I disagree, just release them all immediately, instead of making people wait, just like the Ahsoka show, just release it all at once.
@@ncard00 He's only one man who releases them as they are completed. And it's common practice for shows with far greater numbers of people working on them to have even longer release schedules.
If only we had the Emperor's cloning chambers. We could put to work an army of Angeluses adapting the entire EU.
The flashback clone wars scene was a masterpiece

I love this. Between the Clone Wars ships in the flashback and the KotoR style Kashyyyk, this is hitting all the right buttons for me.
I hope once you have finished The Last Command you will do Dark Empire and include more of Luke's time on Byss than what was portrayed.
I bet if he does get that far, he'd go for the Hand of Thrawn Duology since that story is the sequel to this trilogy. It's a great closure point in the post-ROTJ EU as it wraps up the conflict with the New Republic and Imperial Remnant, the New Jedi Order is on solid foundation and Luke and Mara Jade get together.
I want him to do the Jedi Academy trilogy/quadrilogy next, then X-Wing, then...
Basically, Angelus needs to be put in charge of Disney and undo all the garbage they've put out, reinstate the EU and officially produce it in visual form.

one thing that may have made this chapter better was perhaps using imperial and rebels ships in the flashback, to sell the viewers why Leia felt responsible, then reveal later that the battle occurred in the clone wars
Having inaccurate flashbacks that need to be corrected later isn't really consistent with SW visual storytelling, and would probably be more confusing than helpful in the long run.
Thank God for you Darth Angelus... The REAL Heir to the Empire. Instead of the wannabe garbage they're adapting over on Disney+ to make their live action Ahsoka series.

The Clone Wars Battle Flashback Amazes me
Awesome chapter, loved the explosion sound placement! ^_^ The sniffing got a little too Biden familiar for me but hilarious! LOL Really, great story development and flashback tie in (the sound effect for the crashing ship was perfect!), I loved it! Super Job!
In Canon, most people hated Leia when they learned that she is daughter of Vader

This is your best work yet! Truly compelling and beautiful cinematography especially with the tree climbing scenes. I hope Lucasfilm utilizes your talents, there could be an entire division adapting legend stories with different art styles something akin to Star Wars Visions or even adapt the stories into RPG games. Love your work and can’t wait for more.
This is so cool. Having new cinematic Star Wars content to look forward to is something I haven't experienced since 2005. (well I had hopes for the force awakens in 2015, but that was a bust). No joke - I am excited for more of these chapter uploads than I am for anything else in my life.

Probably my fav scene you've done so far. It's exactly how I pictured it when I read it. Only thing I would change is to just have the wookiees use subtitles while grunting instead of speaking.

When HoTE was written, the details of what really happened in the Clone War was unclear. Now, with the prequels out, if HoTE was written all over again, the details of the battles in the Clone Wars could be addressed like we saw here.

Why did the second wookie speak with a accent? They don't speak as far as I know. You are improving every chapter you make the animation and story is getting better.
If you had read the novel,you would know,he has a speech impediment which makes him able to be understood by humans.

@@Hammerfall541 It’s the same novel,when they arrive, they are met by him and when he starts speaking in basic,the princess jokingly accuses Chewie of having a speech impediment. It turns out that he is the one with the speech impediment ,which made him useful to the imperials.He used that to work against them from the inside.I don’t know why they didn’t show that part in the episode.

Interesting interpretations of using a Lucrehulk as the "land defiling stuff containing" Ship. Makes sense, with only Droids.
As most decisions in this fantastically made Fanfilm.
So far only the nasal vopice acting of some of the actors, and the fact Ghent looks like a Cyberpunk M/F undecided bot, lol. Oh, and sometimes it seems the Recording quality (Best with Thrawn and Mara Jade, worst with Torv etc, not the Voice acting, though those 2 are also top, but mayhap recording equipment?).
But compared to the Disney Crabbage thats still about 81 to 19 Pro this. ^^
Since somehow Edit wont work: What I meant to say was that the QUality of t some Recordings seems to point to different (worse) equipment.
Mara Jade and Thrawn sound like made with semiprofessional Mics, Torv or Ghent and some others sound as if done with less good Stuff.
Oh, and let me repeat, I would love to be a voice actor in this.
