Yeah, totally agree on that Mundus was his reason for fighting, that's why he doesn't hace a lot of money now. Since he killed mundus, he really has no reason to still fight demons
well this is actually quite interesting because mundus is his reason, after all he sent the demons to kill his mother and that's what made him want to get more powerful and kill as many demons as he can but why is V saying that his brother is his real reason ? well I have my theory: Vergil felt abandoned and powerless when the demons attacked him while he was playing outside the house so he wanted nothing but more power to become an ultimate demon warrior and not need to count on anyone's help..and so he saw human emotions as a weakness whereas Dante fights to become more powerful to protect what he loves and for revenge ..you can say he's fighting out of humanity. so with that said Mundus might be Dante's motivation but his real reason is to be a part of a balance between those who think that demons are pure evil and must be eradicated, and those who see them as a great source of power (and it makes sense that the demonic philosophy is needed in such an imperfect human world)
He was about to say "V(ergil)" then go to "U(rizen)" Edit: my bad guys, he actually said "VERGIL" (the teeth closing together is clearly a "G" sound) Sorry and thank you... For "righting my wrong" P. S: I ABSOLUTELY LOVE V ♥️
But the manga also changes their facial expressions shown in this scene. Dante in the manga looks very uninterested when asking for the demon’s name whereas here ha actually leans forward to hear the name. V is also supposed to look very laidback in this scene when he says the “your reason” part
DMC 5 Developers: Let's respect the other parts of the franchise by declaring the anime canon. Also, let's make one of the white characters in the anime black now.
Tbh Morrison is a side character who's only role is to give Dante the monster of the week. Also the series has been loose with it's continuity forever.
@@mushroomhead3619 "Don't say it!" - cause we might get a continuation of that story, hopefully og Dante travels to their world and slaps Donte a new one (or Nero cause he does that now).
If you don't want spoilers, don't read this comment. You have been warned. The thing is, Dante knew about it being Vergil from the beginning. V told Nero the demon was named Urizen, and probably told Dante that was the name Vergil was using as a demon, but Dante knew it was his brother for the entire game. That's why you can clearly see V saying "Vergil" as the cutscene fades out. And Dante probably had suspicions about who V was the whole time too, considering he didn't seem terribly shocked by V and Urizen merging back together (Yes he ran over when V was about to stab Urizen but maybe he thought V's intent was to kill him and since V was already dying himself Dante probably assumed he'd lose his brother for a 3rd time). The guy is smarter than people give him credit for, lol.
@goodtoby07 I mean the game hints at it pretty strongly with some of the lines. Dante says "I guess I get to see for myself if it really is you" (also directly addresses Urizen as "brother" in at least one cutscene) and tells Nero that V "went back to himself." Not to mention when Trish tries to tell him about Urizen he cuts her off and leaves her with V, where you then find out who he is. I also felt like V's "I'm glad to see you so well" to Lady was partly referencing the last time they met in DMC3 as well as him having seen her a month ago.
@@Amayawolf_01 in the Visions of V manga you do see what happens after the fadeout of the cutscene, and yes, V tells Dante that Vergil's back, Urizen is a name they came up with so that Trish and Lady (and i assume Nero) don't worry.

Is anyone else just happy that DMC is one of the very few franchises that makes the games and anime all canon? Seeing Morrison and hearing Patty is a delight after seeing the anime....which really should have had a second season.
2 detail I notice in this scene:
- Dante looked so empty inside (not happy yet not sad either, you can tell his heart is a 'void') until Morrison tell him he have a job, he instantly shift from "empty inside" into feeling looking forward for it
- when Dante looked at V for the first time, his expression look like he feels like he is very familliar with V despite never seen him before

However, this valorous visitation of a bygone vexation stands vivivied and has vowed to vanquish these venal and vittelin vermin vanguarding vice and vouch-safing the violently vicious and verocious violation of volition. The only verdict is vengeance, a vendetta, held as a votive not in vain, for the valua and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous ( V laughs). Verily , this vicious suaze of verbage veers most verbose. So let me simply add that it is my very good honor to meet you and you may call me V"

When V said "Your reason for fighting" I thought it was Mundus because Mundus is Dante's reason for fighting
Well there were times of demons saying they were "powerful." Even a demon going "wolf in sheep's clothing" in a church.
Yeah, totally agree on that
Mundus was his reason for fighting, that's why he doesn't hace a lot of money now. Since he killed mundus, he really has no reason to still fight demons
well this is actually quite interesting because mundus is his reason, after all he sent the demons to kill his mother and that's what made him want to get more powerful and kill as many demons as he can
but why is V saying that his brother is his real reason ?
well I have my theory:
Vergil felt abandoned and powerless when the demons attacked him while he was playing outside the house so he wanted nothing but more power to become an ultimate demon warrior and not need to count on anyone's help..and so he saw human emotions as a weakness
whereas Dante fights to become more powerful to protect what he loves and for revenge ..you can say he's fighting out of humanity.
so with that said Mundus might be Dante's motivation but his real reason is to be a part of a balance between those who think that demons are pure evil and must be eradicated, and those who see them as a great source of power (and it makes sense that the demonic philosophy is needed in such an imperfect human world)

If Marvel can get away with making Nick Fury change ethnicity every few years then DMC can too.
