The Safemoon Scam Is A Perfect Ponzi Scheme

So we need to talk about Safemoon.
In case you haven’t heard, Safemoon is a new cryptocurrency that was launched on 8 March 2021 - just a few weeks ago.
And as I am recording this video, Safemoon has a market cap of $2.8 BILLION. That’s more than Lending Club and IMAX combined.
And yes - unfortunately this is a giant Ponzi scheme that is designed to attract young people who have not seen how giant Ponzi schemes work before so I thought I’d talk about it before the inevitable happens.
I am fully aware of the number of "believers" in Safemoon out there with hundreds of thousands of people being "invested" so I know I am going to get a huge amount of hate and dislikes on this video.
But I hope that at least some people who actually want to understand how it works and what the system behind is will find this useful because this is a car crash in the making.
In case you are too young to have witnessed the unfolding of huge ponzi schemes in the past, it's not much fun.
A few people early on in the process will make some money, but the vast majority will then go on to lose a lot more money.
The design of Safemoon is almost literally the dictionary definition of a Ponzi scheme.
You can ONLY earn money from it while new people are joining the bandwagon and thereby increasing the price and quite literally "PAYING" you through the fee distribution system.
There is zero utility to the product - the 10% fee means it serves no purpose other than to be held while waiting for more people to join.
If I help at least one person avoid this game of musical chairs, I'll be happy despite the inevitable amount of negativity I am going to receive.

I’m fairly new to all this but this comments section is crazy. It seems to me, those taking the ‘get in the Ponzi scheme early and get out’ philosophy will only shorten the timeframe in which the future Safemoons will collapse. The practise will eat itself.
It is pretty incredible, right? I have to give it to them though - they were incredibly effective at building a cult that was blind to anything that pointed out the obvious. Super effective cult building skills right there!
I would rather lose 100-200 bucks then miss out on over 100k.

@@SashaYanshin but you didn’t mention their certik audit, the transparency of the owners, or any of the fact that if it turns out to be a scam that the creator and everyone involved will be in jail, pretty weird for a scam to put out their public ids addresses and intentions. I used to think it was a scam , until I did my research, and if it flops oh well I lose 200 bucks, if they pull a Bitcoin move or even make it to 1 cent after the burns I’ll be rich, you also forgot to mention how a % of each of those transactions burns the coin, how they’re creating their own exchange to compete with coinbase and Binance and kraken etc you skipped a lot of key parts man. The first rule of investing is that you need to be able to understand the intrinsic value of what you're investing in. I do wonder what proportion of Safemoon "investors" have any actual view on this other than "to the moon".

@@hv1817 I agree. The problem is some of them will reach $1 (possibly doge, though I don't see the utility) which makes them feel as if they all will skyrocket, but the majority of them will fail. I just watched James Jani's new video on BTC, and he said the majority of the altcoins were in the negative from their initial position. The way you stated it was perfect ("200k ppl will lose 200 to give 200 ppl 200k") because thats exactly whats happening and they don't even know it. I feel as if a lot of new entrants in the market have very little financial background and no understanding of economics, but when the market crashes, they will learn their lesson.

I haven't invested in Safemoon (yet!) but I couldn't keep a straight face watching this video that's suppose to dissuade me. How is all this so complex and confusing? I've only started investing a few months ago and even I understand the process by spending just an hour doing research. And how is Sasha 100% sure this was the creator's intent to confuse people so they will not do research? I mean goddamn what? Who makes a blank argument like that and make it sound like it's definitive? A million other things are waaaay more complex than this, was it also their creator's intent?
For instance building a PC, setting up appropriate drivers, OC and whatnot. Was this also by design? Was it intended by the creators to be this confusing to stop them from doing research? There’s a reason some people can make a living day-trading, there’s a reason people can retire early making smart investments as well. Investing overall is definitely not gambling. Some market trajectories are very predictable.

Remember with the 10 percent buy and sell fees it has to increase by 20 percent for you to break even. Its a scam, maybe you could make a bit of you got lucky but probably not and fuck this scam anyway. Why not invest in something with some actual value

Personally, I really like its tokenomics AND the safemoon exchange/wallet/blockchain will bring tokenomics to all coins/tokens. Imagine earning Bitcoin & Ethereum and Dogecoin by just holding it.
Instead of putting money on DeFi (where hackers are stealing money via flash loan attacks etc...), I would rather store my money in my own wallet and earn/yield on trading volume. I think its a great/revolutionary idea 🤔.
My personal target for this bull-run is at least $2 million. Now, I'm not comfortable to put in on DeFi and earn interest, instead, I would rather put it in my wallet and earn interest on trading volume while I have full custody of my own private keys.
DeFi is still new and I choose tokenomics (Cryptonomics on SafeMoon blockchain) over DeFi. I want full custody of my money, while also earning interest on trading volume on every asset in my wallet.
Dogecoin trading volume today is $1,2 billion, and its been dropping for the last few weeks, but, its still above $1B, so, if it was safemoon, thats $30 free money in my pocket.

This is the dotcom bubble all over again. And like with the dotcom bubble, in where only companies that were actually useful survived (like Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Apple, etc...), here only useful projects will survive.... (in case cryptomarket survives the next bear market, which I am positive about it yet not blind optimistic).
And of course Safemoon, DOGE, safemars, etc... are not the ones who will survive very well a bear market at all.

I like the ecosystem on eth and bsc has a lot of nice functions also (one provides safemoon a way to generate liquidity. Is this coin going to be useful in 20 years? I feel most of the folks jumping in on this are more interested in the volatility crypto provides, and that's cool, but in structure it suggests there will be bag holders and that makes me a bit sad. Also the people memeing and being all "have fun being poor lol" are a bit obnoxious and make going through my feed slightly unpleasant

People are free to buy what they want. For the moment there is a lot of news and hype for Safemoon, but it was the same for many of the good coins (now), as they did not have a functional product at launch, but promises. We'll live and see. Nobody knows. :)

Yea that certik audit only took 3 weeks for a normally 2 day process and they still scored around the 50% range.The fact that the devs weren’t able to even write their own blockchain makes it very hard to believe they are capable to create an exchange.

I am soooo looking forward to the card and the implementation - because EITHER you have to move Safemoon to the card and therefore take a 10% hit in the first place so that that particular wallet can then have the fee disabled OR there has to be a manual mechanism to shift the wallet itself across which means those people will have no fees on other transactions too.
Oh and the fact that the "video" they made about their development progress is an exact copy from a stock video website really adds extra credibility... 😂

So it is kinda like the US Dollar. I currently pay 30% on every dollar when I make it and then pay another 6% for every dollar when I spend it but it's the difference when holding Safemoon is the token grows. You can kindly set on the sideline if you choose but I personally have lost any faith in the US Dollar and is consistently loosing value all the time. Thanks for your review

Very untrue, actually you literally just described every other crypto/stock out there. If no one bought a crypto/stock ever again the price would stay the same, or people would panic and sell. Every investment requires other people to get in buy to boost the price for you to make gains. Also it wouldnt need to have a 556 trillion marketcap, since the burn rate is so high.
The only difference is some cryptos have utility and stocks are you buying a business. So there's value.
