शंकु का आयतन बेलन के आयतन का एक तिहाई होता है यदि समान आधार और ऊंचाई का एक बेलनाकार बर्तन और एक एक शंक्वाकार बर्तन लें अब शंक्वाकार बर्तन से बेलनाकार बर्तन में पानी भरें तो आप देखेंगे कि बेलनाकार बर्तन को पूरा पूरा भरने के लिए तीन बार शंक्वाकार बर्तन से पानी भरना पड़ेगा इस तरह से यह निष्कर्ष निकलता है कि बेलन का आयतन शंकु के आयतन के 3 गुना होता है अर्थात शंकु का आयतन बेलन के आयतन का एक तिहाई होता है।
उदाहरण- एक शंकु के आधार की त्रिज्या 7 सेमी और ऊंचाई 9 सेमी है। शंकु का आयतन ज्ञात कीजिए।

If take a cylindrical vessel and a conical vessel of equal base and height, now fill water from the conical vessel to the cylindrical vessel, you will see that the cylindrical vessel is filled thrice to fill it completely. Water has to be filled from the vessel, in this way it can be concluded that the volume of the cylinder is 3 times the volume of the cone i.e. the volume of the cone is one third of the volume of the cylinder.
Example- The radius of the base of a cone is 7 cm and height is 9 cm. Find the volume of the cone.
