During "rush-hour" or other heavy traffic times, a blind-eye is turned if you use it to passed stopped traffic, but where the two-way part ends and the one-way part starts, you still would need to give way if someone would enter that lane.

Agreed. Where was the part when the truck "could have passed?" On what planet can you get a license and not learn Drive Right Pass Left, Slower Traffic Keep Right. There are signs posted to remind us, and they apply all the time, not just near the sign. In most states it's illegal to pass on the right. People who complain about tailgaters and won't do the Right Thing and yield to faster traffic baffle me. Wouldn't it be better if everyone just went on their way without the theater and mock outrage? Any detective worth their salt should be able to find it as long as their state has an identifier in their registration system to distinguish between the regular and flareside beds. Camping, as they call it in some areas, is one of my biggest pet-peeves. At least here, passing in the "driving lane" isn't illegal like some places. No one pays attention to the "Slower traffic keep right" signs randomly posted all over our city.

I had something similar happen a couple years ago. Someone stopped in another lane to let someone else turn, I was going straight in another lane, lady pulls out and hits me. She immediately said I pulled out in front of her, and at the bottom of her portion of the police report she wrote "IT WAS NOT MY FAULT!!!"
I never allow these things to occur. I will block side roads and business entrances when a red light backs traffic up in front of it. Leaving a hole to invite people through when they should already be yielding causes these situations. Yes its the drivers fault technically for not checking for traffic but ive seen way too many of these and if they get hit you are the first one in the line of fire to take collateral damage since the other lane flows towards you.

Despite the urge, never brake check another vehicle or motorcycle. Its dangerous and you can kill someone. Its also illegal and you can suffer serious consequences if you are caught. I used to brake check and didn’t think much of it until I read an article about someone who sent a motorcyclist over a bridge and killed him by brake checking. I realized how stupid what I was doing was and I would never want to kill someone over traffic nonsense. Stop driving like a-holes people, the road doesn’t belong to you.
I've never brake checked someone (I rode a motorcycle so I wonder if that has something to do with it) but I can and do let off the gas until they pass me. I don't think speeding up to "scrape" them off your tail can ever work. You can go 95 mph and they'll still tailgate you, and such speeds are pointless and dangerous (in my opinion).
@@langhamp8912 truth. in my experience most motorcyclists, especially older riders, are very safety conscious and level headed on the road. I learned a lot from a friend about misconceptions that I had towards motorcyclist behavior, like riding close to a car on one side as a way to enhance your visibility to others and not to tailgate like some might think.

Since drivers spend most of their time looking ahead and not behind, and thus cannot see a rapidly approaching rider passing them, it follows drivers are under no such illusion.

The reality is that 2 wrongs don't make a right, and any complaints people have about someone being in the left lane can't really be taken seriously when the complainer is themselves breaking other traffic laws. If you want people to actually obey the law and stay out of the left lane except when passing, then you have to obey the other traffic laws and cannot speed, change lanes without signaling, etc. If you fault the left-lane "camper" but think it's OK for you to speed, it comes off as pure entitlement and no one will take you seriously.

Also, even if you are doing the speed limit in the left lane, some states have laws that state that you must move over to let the traffic behind you continue through, even if they are exceeding the speed limit. It's called impeding the flow of traffic, and some states will actually ticket you for it.

From my experience, brake checkers typically assume the person behind them will stop in time. That way the brake checker gets “revenge” for their perceived wrong and the other person gets held up. I have a dash cam because once I almost didn’t stop in time and wouldn’t have had any evidence of the brake check.

Yeah, if you’re using your vehicle for Uber or DoorDash, you have to let your insurance company know so they can charge extra for a commercial endorsement.
He isn't at fault, his insurance isn't paying the claim unless the other driver is uninsured. He can still pursue a claim against the other driver and their insurer, he just isn't going to get the backing of his insurer.

yes, the merging vehicle has to make sure there is room and can't just barge in, but he would have had room had the cammer not accelerated to block.
Cammer was doing 8mph at the start of the clip and accelerated to 21 to "block" the merging vehicle. I guess this guy has "big truck energy" and letting ONE car in would totally derail his entire day.

4:39 - Why are people like this? You all know that the lanes are merging ahead. Is it going to ruin your entire life, or cost you more than 1 second to let another driver merge into your lane? And we all wonder why people drive so aggressively. Because they have to deal with people like this. Why do people ride 1,000 miles in the fast lane? Because they know that someone will crowd them out when they want to make a lane change, or tailgate like idiots, or worse.
