@@emptyfueltank Yeah, even in the translation from Spain they just call him Lobo (Wolf) instead of Garou lol, I suposse is somwhat of a correct translation, but Garou is a name, and I think names aren't supossed to be translated.
Idk why, but translators from Spain do this a lot, they get out of their way to change titles and names, and a lot of times they don't make sense or are hilarious.
We people from Latin america always make fun of them bc of that lol.

I love Metal Bat. The anime doesn't do this battle justice with the animation unfortunately, but the battle in the manga is AMAZING. The artwork is glorious. Read it after the battle and you'll get to really appreciate what sort of a monster Metal Bat is. Such a great character.

I'm seriously hoping they'll watch Mob Psycho 100 after this. It's by One, the same person who made One Punch Man, so the art style will be pretty recognizable. Mob Psycho is actually finished though, so they won't have to wait who knows how long for new seasons lol
Me too! Mob psycho is one of my top 3 favorite shows of all time for animation, I absolutely love the animation style!! I’ve got a tattoo of Mob!! It’s hilarious I love it!!

@@zekie106Mob Psycho 100 is definitely better written. It was supposed to be ONE's "serious" manga while OPM was just a webcomic he was drawing "for fun", before Murata picked it up and it blew up.

OPM was made by a guy nicknamed One and was born as a webcomic, the guy can't draw but had this cool idea for Saitama, then Yusuke Murata, one of the best mangaka around, saw it and proposed to make a sort of remake and make it a real manga, he draw it basically in the same style of season 1 and expanded the story, he's great at chara desing
This is why the first episodes are almost the same, big strong monster appears ---> people fight it ---> monster wins ---> Saitama shows up and kills the monster with one punch, good dose of comedy and Saitama depressed because he can't find a decent rival
One started it with this basic idea, then he saw the popularity rising and was basically forced to continue so already in the second part of the season 1 we see the story getting more complex, in season 2 we see the product getting more story oriented

I'm glad the guys who haven't seen the show before are enjoying season 2 so far and that Brig is feeling some vindication. Honestly, when I first watched this show a few years back, I loved both seasons and didn't find out about the hate for season 2 until after. 🤷🏽♀️
if season 3 only has 12 episodes, we're not gonna get alot of saitama and we're getting a very little with genos. but going foward the other side characters, villians are really cool too so it wouldn't be that big of a deal
Yeah, dont expect tons of Saitama & Genos in season 3, they play there parts but only really take part at the end
And that’s fine. I hate when so many characters are introduced, but not fleshed out. MHA is an example. I really don’t care about 80% of the characters in that show. lol

Metal Bat's a caricature of Japanese "Yankees", which are their punks. Usually high school bullies in shows and anime. Kuabara in Yu-Yu Hakusho is a great example, but so is Josuke from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Part 4.

Metal bat is like a super sayan . The more he fights and gets beaten, the stronger he gets.
Garou might not be the deepest or best written character ever but it is pretty unique. The fact that the hero is the one who's at his peak and we go through the journey of surpassing oneself to defeat the stronger opponent with the villain instead of the hero is what makes it pretty unique. The comparison to Toji is especially crazy because he's nothing like that. And it came from the one who supposedly has already watched the show of all people. Good thing you're rewatching it xD

I think the reason why there is a Gap for One Punch Man in terms of animation green lights are either, To help boost the sale for the Manga and help the Author create enough content for the animation and those who want to read the materials or it's just that the Art style in the Manga made by Murata that it's very hard for Studios to live up to the Mangas art and Season 1s success.
But I personally think it's the first reason, because for example the Overlord Anime is way ahead in the source material compared to the Manga, the current Manga has noy yet still catch up to current season of the Anime that I feel like the author/publication dropped the series entirely and focused on the sale of the Light Novel because the story already ended on that.
its not to help boost the manga sales lol, at the point where season 2 was being animated we were barely half way into the monster association arc, its because there was not enough material to work with or a proper place to end a season,
Season 3 was announced right after the chapter Monster Association arc ended
To boost the manga sale the anime has to do well for people to be actually interested in the manga, season 2 failed to do that

As many others have said, I think Mob Psycho 100 would be a great show to go through as well. It got great characters and a fun concept.

The animation is what killed it for a lot of people, and many did not like the metal CGI. They trashed it simply for that. I like the greater story of season 2.
the metal isn't cgi. they are hand drawn but just have unfinished compositing. J.C.Staff had a really bad schedule (literally like 6 months) when making this. I'm surprised it didn't end up like record of ragnarok.

The hate for season 2 has to do with the drop in quality (animation, sound design, etc.). The story itself is great and for a lot of people an improvement over the first season.

The English pronunciation of words like garou sounds very funny. In Japanese, vowels are pronounced clearly.
I knew McKay would start to enjoy the show when it actually started to get into the storyline. Season 1 is an introduction imo, season 2 is the start of the storyline and season 3 will be where the story goings into hyperdrive!!! I like season 2, I never had any major problems with the animation! I get why some ppl complain about it but it’s still good and has its moments where your like “that’s awesome!!!” and that’s all that matters imo.
Ohhhhh trust me Cannon season 3 will NOT disappoint on the demon cyborg or on the caped baldy action!!!!!!!!!!! It’s not all about them, the other hero’s get moments(even king believe it or not) but our two main guys steal the show!!!

to be fair, apart from the animation, s2 anime moving/fight scenes just feels like moving manga panels and not much fluidity,choreography and creativity. s1 was indeed a once in a lifetime collaboration that contributed to its success, but s2 gets hate simply for how high the manga sets its visual standard

It's interesting that the creators showed most of the heroes as assholes who care only about a place in the top or fame, but the metal bat deserves to be in S. He cares about his family (+Toretto's respect ), does his job honestly and rly strong, while the King sits at home playing games and loots salary. It's unfair that he has more screen time and 7th place in the class while bat is 15 >:(

Saitama has no aura. Aura is the presence that exudes of someone. People treat saitama like a nobody despite the power within. Thats not an aura. King has more aura funny enough.
Season 2 is better than 1... season 3 is confirmed and I believe will be better again.

Saitama is my fav character too. I like Garou tho, but he still kinda in line with the typical shonen mc traits. While Saitama, on the other hand, is a completely different mc, out of the tradition.
I think people who like Garou more are those who like entertainment and "edgyness" more than idea and messages. Which I understand.

First
It's not just the animation... it's the pacing. Season 1 would rapid fire ridiculous stuff at us that we just didn't think a show would do. It was constantly satirical and clever. Season 2 definitely has some of that... maybe we just got used to it a little, too. I just feels more like a typical anime, set in the One Punch Man season 1 universe, coasting off its success. I'd say Season 2 is also somewhat of a slow build, and doesn't feel like we get too far by the end of it. But everything has ups and downs. I still like it and will be stoked for Season 3.
