Ruth C; You will have to drill holes or find cracks in the wall to put wires at 3 ft and 5 ft to run the grapes on! You will have to prune them back to two stems on each side for fruit and two stems on each side for next year, you plant them firteen feet apart and they will not put very much weight on the wall . You prune them to six feet tall and your neighbors will never know you have grapevines there unless you want to share with them! Good luck with your farm!
Ruth; you are missing a good chance to raise another good chance to grow good fruit on your farm!! That long wall beside your farm would grow many, many kilos of grapes! They will only need to have extra water the first year- you can start with one vine and the second year you can start taking many cuttings for friends or sale, just like your Passion fruit vines! Grapes are a much tougher plant than passion fruit! The wall will give water runoff and the roots will run along underneath the wall. In three or four years you will have a good source of food!! Give it somethought maybe? Good luck with your farm!
