    I'm from Europe, and I cant believe, that in almost every church there is a digital mixer, we, in Poland have only cheap powermixers and they are set once and permanently... One of those is my wet dream since last year, but due to pandemic I can't afford it :(( I'm audio engineer, but right now our job is stopped... Thanks, Covid... Greetings to you guys ;)

    I've been using the Studiolive series since the first one came out in 2009. Great mixers. I use one weekly at my church and the school I work at. Both first generations. I've also installed 5 of them, up to the newest gen, at other churches. Super solid mixers that are easy to learn and train, sound great, and are really affordable.

      I like them also aside of that tiny screen and some times the fire wire connection causes lock up while using universal control. Universal control makes it much easier to get to your dynamics because you have it all on the pc screen and you can see it much better in an analog format to boot. the first time it locked up on my was in a the middle of a live performance. Everything just shut down. lol I instantly grabbed the fire wire cable and yanked it out of the console and instantly we were back. Obviously it through the band off and they had to restart the song. It did it to me another time in a club but before the band started.

      Hello. For how long have you owned this mixer?
      I've read quite some negative comments about the Studiolive mixers over the internet, that they can fail in the middle of a show etc.... nothing in particular regarding the Rack mixers.
      I'm wondering if these are reliable and whether they can be trusted on a long term basis...

    • @BDMcGrew
      @BDMcGrew Před 3 lety

      @@Jinaci1732 sadly, there is some accuracy to that for sure. Personally, 'I' have never had one fail during a worship set, but, I have had the system fail during a practice or fail sometime during the week and have had to cold boot everything on a Saturday morning before practice or a Sunday morning before worship. By 'fail' I mean that everything is locked up and completely unresponsive to any control surface inputs or any app inputs. I have been lucky so far, I know this, but yes, this kind of problem does exist. BTW, I've had the 32R for just about 3 years now and the console for about 2 years.

    Hello!
    I recently bought a studiolive 32sc and have 4 amplifiers, a Crown xls 1502, LD systems DEEP2 2400x, a Jam systems Q7(4 channels) and a Jam systems Q10(4 channels).
    My question is how do I connect all the amplifiers to the mixer so that each amplifier is on a separate channel, i.e. I will have 4 2x12 basses and 2 2x12 tops and 2 15 inch technical dB active speakers, and I want to separate the basses from the tops on one channel each seperately, someone told me to put the amp on xlr left/right, so how to do it and what settings to do for the whole setup? We are running an analog board. Our tracks and guitars run stereo. Maybe we're running things wrong, but, I take up 2 monitor/aux mixes. One mix for each side of the stereo spectrum. Will I need to do this on the Presonus?

    Thanks for the info. I'm looking at upgrading my old Presonus Studio Live 16.4.2. A feature I can't live without is the ability to play back a sequence in my DAW, of various virtual and real instruments, into the 16.4.2, then assign those to a stereo sub out, and simultaneously record to a track in the same sequence, to achieve a mix recording. I am hoping this is possible with the 32SC? Can you confirm it can be done? On the 16.4.2, I simply link 2 sub outs, which creates a stereo left and right, then assign my DAW's incoming tracks, that I want to mix, to that sub group. I create a stereo track on the DAW sequence, that will get it's input from the 16.4.2 on 17 & 18, which is the sub 1 and 2 on the board. Hope you'll see this and reply...thanks again.

    • @TMoneyMil
      @TMoneyMil Před 3 lety +1

      It’s plug and go. You set it as the main audio interface, put it into DAW mode and the motorized faders control the faders in Studio One and vice verse. All the software needed comes with it. I mixed 100% with this OTB and only used the mouse to save and export the song. Never have to mix ITB again. All the buttons on the mixer control everything in Studio One. It works with Cubase but the faders won’t control the faders in the program. At least I couldn’t make it work. Maybe theres a midi writeup somewhere...IMO stick to Studio One to mix using the mixer as a control surface

    • @Metalpazallteway
      @Metalpazallteway Před 3 lety

    5:18 "FAT channel", as far as I am aware, is the way that they describe a mixer channel being equivalent to a huge console which has a huge array of adjustment knobs and sliders. It's a euphemism. Because of all the knobs, the channel has to be "fat" (wide) to accommodate everything. But with Presonus it's more than that, the "FAT channel" (probably a trade mark) is a product name that specifically means it can run dedicated insert FX plugin software/firmware directly on the mixing hardware itself - and then they make an exact copy of the same effect plugins which are components of their "FAT channel" vst (and native to Studio ONE) plugin. By default, studio ONE Pro comes with basic FAT Channel modules, but you can purchase them separately. Once you have a licence, you can run it both inside the mixer hardware and on your DAW software*. When you transfer the session from the mixing console's USB/SD-Card, then all the FAT channel FX and other configurations are preserved in Studio ONE running on your Mac or PC. It's pretty cool. It's one of the reasons I went with Presonus. In reality, how you balance a mix for the room is different to how you balance it for publication, but I think it still would save you a lot of time once you get a workflow going that you like.
    So "FAT Channel" is a:
    - product name
    - euphemism for a huge mixing channel
    - firmware insert, bus and return FX (that run on the Mixer's internal DSP)
    - software plugin modules (modules that go inside their "FAT Channel" plugin.
    They are very high quality.
    shop.presonus.com/StudioLive-Series-III-Plug-ins
    * Initially you could only run FAT Channel in your DAW if your DAW was Presonus Studio ONE. But then with version 4.5 they decided to release the FAT Channel system as a generic VST plugin. Not sure if it also runs as a Pro Tools plugin but there are various ways to run VST plugins inside a Pro Tools plugin container (wrapper) that supports VSTs. In any case, you can now use FAT Channel on any DAW.

    Could you please explain again how you can have 16 mixes when you only have 10 physical outputs in the back of the mixer? How do you get the additional 6? Thank you. P.S. Great video by the way.

      6 are in Xlr, and 4 are jack Outputs

      @@pascalmerschaudio Your response unfortunately does not answer my question. The 6 XLRs and 4 Jacks equal to 10 out. How do you get 16 mixes when you only have 10 physical outs on the mixer. Do you have to use a stage box to do that?

      Emmanuel Francis, seems the answer to your question is yes, you need the stageboxes to achieve the full input and output capabilities of the mixer. I pulled this from their website:
      The scalable digital mixer.
      The StudioLive 32SC digital mixer and the complete PreSonus® StudioLive Series III ecosystem of AVB networking products allow you to create a system that is truly customized for your needs. Connect NSB-series stage boxes to add remote analog inputs and outputs wherever they’re required and complete your 32-channel, 16-bus StudioLive 32SC.

    Are those mixes stereo? Please, I need to know!!!!

      The Flex Mix outputs 1-16 are mono. They can be controlled in pairs like a stereo output - so 16 mono outputs or 8 stereo outputs or any combination.

    The only way you can help others on a mixer is explain the routings. The rest are very simple. 30mins video with no routing explanation.

    I'm hoping this works better than the StudioLive 32. My church has owned a Presonus StudioLive since they were first introduced. We have NEVER been able to get ANY effects to work. There is something we are missing. I have followed the confusion owner's manual and still cannot get an effect to work. We are very disappointed with this product and have found the very availability of BASIC settings VERY lacking. We will not be buying anymore products from Prosonus and will never recommend them to any other church. Great hardware. Poor interface. Worse documentation.
