10:18 There's a great sword in the graveyard by firelink shrine, by a big ass gravestone. The Guts Greatsword is at an NPC shop after a really hard parlour jump, or by a painting in Anor Londo.
Oh my god, i love this game, it is glorious, especially the heaviness of the movement and the interconnected world. So happy to see you play it FINALLY. If you manage to run through drake of the bridge, claymore is sitting there, best of the best. Also I made artorias's greatshield on my first playthrough and it was magical to tank literally everyone with no effort (if you are up to experiments). They definitely made ds3 easier and much more convenient with bonfires and etc. The amount to repeated running through areas to the boss you have to do here can drive you insane.
Gargoyles gave me a rough time my first time through as well and I had to take some time to walk away and come back again. Before I eventually came back to it. You can restore your humanity and summon solair to help you in the fight and make it an even 2 on 2. But if you still want to keep it solo, you can kill the undead outside of the church/across from the black smith bonfire to farm some titanite to get at least a +2 weapon and that should definitely help with things as well as maybe help put a few levels on yourself. I loved your DS3 videos, and I'm looking forward to your DS1 play through! Good luck gamer, and don't go hollow out there
Dude, i just finished your BB playlist and i loved it. Now i'm watching this before ds3 to be syncronized with the publishing. I got the platinum trophy in ds1 like 2 weeks ago 😂
It's cool to see you play DS1 since I'm replaying it right now so I can give some useful tips. We're using the same starting class so the first thing I'd recommend is don't level up Vitality anymore for a little bit 20 is good until you get towards the end of Blighttown. Don't level up more than 3 stats for this game because you only need 3. Your Vitality for HP, Endurance for Stamina and Equip Load, and your offense stat. If you wanna do Dex which is what I'm running then farm the Balder Knights in the Undead Burg for the Balder Side Sword it's good offensively and has a reliable moveset that'll serve you the entire game. There's more early options for Strength weapons tho, and the 2 I recommend is either Zweihander that you can grab from the graveyard or the Claymore right infront of the Hellkite Dragon. Now Claymores got a super good moveset and you can use it the entire game, but it does perform a little bit better with a Quality build, and you can't respecc in this game so I personally would use it for Strength. So if you wanna do a simple and effective Strength build Zweihander may be the way to go. Any boss with a tail can have it cut off for a cool weapon, and that's also true for every dragon in the game that you see. Unlike in other Souls games Bows are actually useful to have here so having either the short or long bow is a good tool for your kit even more so if you do Dex build like me. You won't be able to warp from bonfires until you get much farther in the game either so carry as many Homeward Bones as you can it'll save you some time in the long run. That number in the circle next to your name represents the amount of Active Humanity you have, the more of it you get the higher your item discovery will get meaning more drops, but if you die you lose it. Using Humanity or farming certain enemies can give it to you and you use active humanity to reverse your hollowing and to kindle your bonfires so they give you more healing flasks. There was more I wanted to say, but my mind kinda went blank. Regardless I hope these tips help you on your journey. Good luck man!
One of my favorite strength weapons in this game is the great club. you can get it somewhat early on in the game and it has good strength scaling and a fun move set . classic strength weapon too as it’s an oversized bonk stick.
bro be fr why are u doing this in the exact same order like me i love u really just started dark soul remasterd before a week after finishing dark souls 3
Bro, literally the best bro hinter/guider in the begginning . Honestly, you did him favour for killing him because he really wanted to die but just to afraid to commit suicide .
Wow killing the crest fallen knight at fire link first thing. I’ve seen so many people soft lock their first play through doing that. Congrats you got over it, and good job picking up on parry. You don’t need it but if you can master it makes the game a walk in the park.
The only tip I have is go grab the claymore first before anything else. On that bridge with the hellkite. There is a way to make it come down you just want to be patient. Secondly grab a longbow. Run past that titanite demon which you died to and go straight kill the first enemy and immediately take a right grab the longbow and a very useful shield for use later on when you have enough endurance or Havel's Ring (same as the one in DS3 but better since only two ring slots in DSR). Zweihander is pretty good but there is one big problem with it. It bounces off a lot in closed spaces. Claymore comes off a lot quicker and two handing it saves you from the weapon bouncing off in tight spaces. moreover zweihander is slow as yuck. With Claymore you have the option to do a proper quality build and that will also help you with Longbow in the other hand with shield to alternate between.( the second weapon slot). There would be lots of situations where it is much convenient to just snipe the enemies from afar to save the extra headache. And last but not the least Andre is selling titanite shards (or farm or collect those as much as you need) to upgrade the weapon to a maxomum of +5. Even a +2 would give you enough damage to easily overpower the first gorgoyle before second one shows up or at least finish it off before it approaches you. Once you are done with gorgoyles you are all set to progress further but it is comparitively harder thsn ER and DS3. It was the first one for me so I still play it at times.
Some tips: you can cut most of the bosses limbs for weapons, always fast roll, don't lock on and you can go to the catacombs kill pinwheel for 20 estus and join nito's covenant for one of the most broken sword for strength builds
Tips: Test the lightweight roll see if you enjoy it Everything is way slower and telegraphed Actions can be "queued", so spamming buttons even if you caracter is busy in some animation will have consequences Armor and poise and shields are way more important because of this Enemies do stagger but most of the time not for a crit attack I think there's a zwei (claymore) in the high level cemitery if you search a bit that i think you would like, if i'm not mistaken there's a good weapon in the dragon bridge aswell Avoid upgrade shields and specially armors unless you have material and souls to waste, they have pretty low increases (still good tho) and you can easily "dress for the ocasion" in this game All the black knights have a chance to drop their weapons which are insane but need special material to upgrade Been human increase droprate/allow to be invaded by npc's and players and allow to summon npc's and players (you'll have a option in the bonfire) Is very hard to organically finish the npc's quest not that it matters much That boar could also be backstabbed in the unarmored butt, but he also has very high resistance to slash, but is kinda weak to fire also, weakness are very fun to use in this game Search how you enter the DLC when you want (need to be before the last boss) You can use your humanity (that can either be farmed by killing a bunch enemies or using a "humanity", it'll increase a number left of your healthbar) if you kindle your bonfire it increase the number of flaks you have when you sit there Stamina managment is way more important, two attacks or three attacks can easily take all your stamina, and recovery is slow especially if you dont stop using it until it charges, because of that a slower approach more methodical is morw suited, and because those reasons and that endurance increases weigh it's a pretty good status The upgrade weapon system is insane unless you want the basic normal upgrade, if you want anything else search it (which you kinda have a few choices, all interessing) Hollow happens when those undying have no more purpouse and lack any will anymore to keep going with no object anymore, many go hollow when they achieve their goals because they lose their purpouse Every build is quite viable, str/dex/int/faith Good luck my man, some stuffs are a bit outdated but still a great as fuck game
the gargoyles have extra spawns on ds2... but its an optional boss and its harder than all the other base game bosses not through being a challenge but just from being cheesy, its a dps race basically and you will understand what that means when you reach the 4 kings in ds1. Anyway, if you want a good great sword early on then get the claymore on the dragon bridge, that will easily carry you for a good chunk of the game cause its strong attack is a thrust attack, perfect for the many narrow spaces in ds1.
also there is an item named humanity its much like the ember but u need to make use of it u can use it regular and get full hp but also when having a number in the upper left that is the amount of humanity u got and u can reverse ur hollow in the price of humanity when u reversed hollow u get physical defense and almost all types of defense and u can summon the phantoms like solair that u could spawned him on the gargoyles boss and u when ur on human mode u also can kindle at a bonfire also in the cost of 1 humanity and every time u sit in the bonfire u kindled u will get ur estus back and extra 5 flasks u got ten u can kindle every bonfire at max of 10 without the item called rite of kindling can be found in the bottom ofthe catacombs the graveyard where u can find one of the best strenght wepons in the game on the start of the graveyard on a huge tomb
I would suggest using free-cam. Then you can roll in any direction you want (Idk why they did not add omnidirectional rolling while locked on in the remaster but that's a long story).
Yoooo!! Welcome back! I'll be a lot lighter on the lore this time around. I didn't know until the end of ds3 you were planning on doing this game, and SO MUCH of this games story is needed for context of the sequel that you already know most of the story lol. I legit don't think there's anything in this first episode you wouldn't know lol, so instead, here's a combat tip! You've already noticed your can only roll in cardinal directions (forwards, backwards, right and left). Try learning to play with an unlocked camera. It'll take a bit to get used to, but when unlocked you can roll in any direction you want Also, ladder slides are done by double tapping the button instead of holding it in this game Hollowing is losing your dark soul by dying repeatedly and giving up on what gives you purpose. By contrast, if you never die and have a strong Sense of purpose, you can become functional immortal by becoming undead and just never hollowing. Andre is one such person. Tough ass dude who just loves being a blacksmith so much he never loses his purpose, hence him being in both games
Thanks so much for letting me in on these tips brother. I legit don’t know about the ladder one yet. And yep, when I was going through pretty much all of this episode, I was like “my lore master has told me about this” and it genuinely felt great since I understand wtf is going on now lol. Thanks again my guy.
Pro tip three weapons you can get is the claymore or the zweihander or the sword know as the noob weapon dont remember what it's called, but it's really good for early game up to the second bell. Also dont waste your time upgrading it isnt worth it. If you want the sword you got snipe the dragons tail off with a bow. Claymore the bridge with the dragon and then zweihander grave yard I would find these or you could test your luck with black knight sword or great sword there are two in your level in the there is a down side before the run up to demon Taurus tower hes their and black knights great sword tower where the end of where the rats are there another tower with a black knight
you can cut off the gorgoyle or the dragons tail, you have to bait the dragon first by waiting for him beside the wall to come down and then you can run at that bonfire.you need humanity for summons and to use reverse hollow after this, solaire's sign is near the entrance.you need to summon npcs to continue their quest line.andre was in this one and 2 is trash and they bringed him again in the 3rd lol,not the first familiar npc you will see
You question what is the event that finish the transformation into hollow, and that will be your lack of hope. When the force to continue is over, a cursed one become completely hollow. Mechanicaly, you can think that your character became hollow if you get frustrated and left the game in the middle
I don't know if anyone's said it but in this one, you have to level up each bonfire individually. So choose wisely which ones you do, late game it shouldn't be too much of a worry. Also kicking is good for guard breaking in the beginning, once you get a big sword or hammer or whatever then you don't have to worry anymore lmao.
before the garegoyls is an elevator that brings you down if you time your jump corectly you can jump down on a roof platform from there on the right will be a group of chest on the ground , also there is a pilölar of a structure looking like a roof that goes over the water place in firelink climb the roof and gop to the crows nest an ballup inside it and stay balled up for 1 minute youll be transported somewhere else pick up a peculiar "toy"there and remember it later when you see a painting i the holy land, have fun and praise the sun \[T]/
if u go under the bridge u can cut off the dragons tale for a heavy sword. use bow and arrow to shoot the tale off of the dragon. and if u cut the gargoyle tale off u get a axe aalso
Phase two strat: It could be easier if you keep the fight in far ends of arena. their fire attacks go in one direction when you do that but don't get yourself cornered
Use your shield my guy! The claymore is one of the best weapons in the game and you can get it from bridge with the dragon and itll rake you through the whole game. The Black Knight weapons, especially the halberd are all OP and even come with a +20% damage bonus to demons
zwrihander is one of the best weapons in the game and can be obtained from the graveyard, and if you're lucky enough to get a black knight weapon you're set for the rest of the game
So glad you kept on playing Dark Souls! Here are some tips: Here in dark Souls, the knight is quite heavy in Rowling , it’s better if u start with less armor (I recommend the helmet and the gloves cause once they are out your faster at Rowling) or you can travel along the map to find more items and go to the merchant (one of them is close to the bonfire before the Taurus demon) About the gargoyles, you can use electric pine Wich is takes massive life to them and also summon solaire, to summon him you have to use the humanity and reverse the hallow on the bonfire, his summon will be close to the fog door. Lastly I wanted to recommend you that BEFORE YOU GO TO THE GARGOYLES! There is a golden guy in that same area and floor. You must free him and kill him IMMEDIATELY cause if he stays alive you won’t be able to use the bonfire in the firelink shrine. Even if you don’t free him, he will free himself and he will be found close to the firekeer in the shrine and he will kill her, if he does, no bonfire neither upgrading your estus. Do comment if you need anything else
@@TrueSquareFace basically on your way to the gargoyles, you have another door on your left. There is gonna be one of those rapier soldiers and more upfront you have a semi broken door brake it and u have some stairs that will take you to the golden guy. Only saying this cause it is very important and with him alive the game might become a bit harder
When it comes to DSR, just think of it as physics matter. If the boss is right handed and holding his weapon in his right hand, if you dodge in the opposite direction, you’re less likely to take the damage. Also, dodging doesn’t make you immortal to damage, like in Elden Ring. You can’t phase through their weapon like you can in the newer titles. So you have to anticipate them swinging which is why the “long wind up times” are kind of a blessing. These mechanics is what makes the older titles “harder”.
12:20 that's a stagger. A stagger is when they flinch for a bit. A stance break is for crit. Crit is called riposte btw. Rainbow emoji The more you knoe
You need multiple weapons in this game for different situations. There are ghost that can only be hit with cursed weapons and some skeletons can only be killed permanently with holy weapons. There are work around for all this stuff but to me it's a lot easier to have different weapons.
The black knight weapons are all op but zweihander and the dragon sword great sword are 2 good ones. Early game the claymore or the drake sword are probably the best. You can cheese the dragon on the bride by shooting his tail with a bow. (For the drake sword so very early game). Also any boss with a tail has a tail cut weapon kinda like monster hunter.
Crestfallen dude is annoying but he is usually there for lore dumping at the beginning. Wont affect your playthrough but he is the gossip guy. he kinda relays little tid bits and changes that occur around firelink shrine
aight, so, there generally are 4 weapons that most first timers end up using for the entire run. Thers the Zweihander, ultra greatsword, closest thing u gonna get to yout guts greatsword, can be found jn the graveyard you went to in the start The Claymore, little brother of the Zwei, not quite as long, not quite as powerfull but faster with a very nice moveset, can be found on the dragon bridge The Halberd, bit wierd moveset to get into but pretty darn strong and the attack range can be a game changer, found on the staires just behind the armored boar and lastly the Uchigatana, Katana, bleed, dex weapon, dmg kinda underwhelming but lotta fun to play, droped after killing a merchant in undead burg, near the first bonfire Also, if you ever kill a Black Knight and get his weapon droped (20% chance, tgey are non respawning), pls do yourself a favor and DONT use em, even if u think they look sick and u like tgeir moveset. those wepons are insanely broken in dark souls 1 and will take away some of the best moments just by making the game too easy also, gratz square for winning the dark souls initiation rite, 95% of all first timers attck the NPC in firelink coz hes a douche, more then half of those cant deal with him and start a new character immedeantly. i know you have the prior experience backing u up but still congratulations for joining the cool kids club
Ok, I'll try not to be too much of a back seat gamer, so i'll give a much more vague advice. First off, you are going to need to upgrade the estus flask. To do this, you need fire keeper souls, then give them to the fire keeper under the fire link shrine. The first fire keeper soul is in the undead chapel where you fought the big iron knight with the mace and shield. Start farming titanite shards, the baulder knights drop them along with the hollow soldiers (the more armored ones). Going strength, get the zweihander. Going dex, I don't know the best, but the merchant drops a pretty good katana. You can summon solaire if you are human to help fight the bell gargoyles. To be human to a bonfire and select "become human" option, however you will need humanity consumables, the black sprite. When you consume the sprite, the big circle on the left of the health bar. The humanity you have the greater item discover you also have.
@squareface8572 you are welcome. Also, I should clarify that it is liquid humanity and being human that affect item discovery. Liquid humanity is the numbers in the circle, while being human has the circle glow white. Being human also lets you talk to the guy at fire link who gave you the coin
I think this is just gonna confuse them lol. First off that’s not true cause that’s not what determines the ending. And secondly it’s doubtful a player on a blind play through would end up being able to have that choice.
There are a lot of people out there who say that u should experience your first dark souls run blind, not knowing anything about the game or its content. I think otherwise, the game should come with an instruction guide. I know so many people who got stuck at some point and gave up because of that and that's sad because it's a great game and one of my all times favourites.
My friend use the tips you get here in the comments you will notice that many bosses become easier when you have a summon with you like the gargoyles turn you self human by burning a Humanity at the bonfire and work you way up to the boss am solaris sign will be there and use that because it will help alot but quick tip on the bridge with the dragon you have claymore and another tip you can go under the bridge with the dragon and use a Bow and shoot the tail after a while you will cut it off and reward for that is a pretty good sword early game peace out
The heavier your armor - easier the game. Bigger weapons - same. Bigger shields - same. Magic - same. DEX weapons pool have -1 size compared to STR, there are no ultragreat biggest weapons in DEX weapons, but there are DAGGERS. Choose your destiny. Since poise and defense are god in this game you pretty much may touch yourself with it, make rolls obsolete, if you want. Also you can dodge most attack just by footwork ) There is something wrong if you can only roll in 4-ways. Boss weapons from boss souls are kinda tricky here. You need a lvl +10 specific item and ascend it by using boss souls at blacksmith in Anor-Londo. For instance Quelaag soul is for katana and curved sword.
Something I forgot to mention; if it has a tail, you can cut the tail off for a weapon.
I loved this mechanic, wish it had been implemented in at least a few bosses in ds3
Except for Capra Demon 🤓☝️

10:18 There's a great sword in the graveyard by firelink shrine, by a big ass gravestone. The Guts Greatsword is at an NPC shop after a really hard parlour jump, or by a painting in Anor Londo.
I believe in Zweihander supremacy
14:38 Fun Fact: you can PARRY that boar.
And backstab
ds1 is one of my fave games of all time. hope you'll be having a blast with it, will wait for more vids!
Worth the wait love ur vids brother
The Claymore is great in the game. It's probably the best claymore in the series. It's good until you find some greatswords
dude I love u so much! Few weeks ago watched ur whole bloodborne playthrough. Best wishes bro
Thank you so much for the support my guy!
Gargoyle struggling 🤣🤣 i love it subscribed you
Gargoyles gave me a rough time my first time through as well and I had to take some time to walk away and come back again.
Pro tip, always light roll if your plan is not try to tank all the damage
Love your vids dude keep going with DS1 i also started your bloodborne vids they are also pure Entertainment like always 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
Absolutely love watching someone play my favorite game for the first time
You should try the black Knight great sword its a badass weapon
Holy, thanks so much for the information my guy! They’re really helpful, I’ll get to the grind then… btw, no respec is rough tho
That duel with Harry was epic😂
Another great video my guy! DS1 is a lot harder. I would recommend playing it blindly. It would make for a great video series!
Tips:
Test the lightweight roll see if you enjoy it
Everything is way slower and telegraphed
Actions can be "queued", so spamming buttons even if you caracter is busy in some animation will have consequences
Armor and poise and shields are way more important because of this
Enemies do stagger but most of the time not for a crit attack
I think there's a zwei (claymore) in the high level cemitery if you search a bit that i think you would like, if i'm not mistaken there's a good weapon in the dragon bridge aswell
Avoid upgrade shields and specially armors unless you have material and souls to waste, they have pretty low increases (still good tho) and you can easily "dress for the ocasion" in this game
All the black knights have a chance to drop their weapons which are insane but need special material to upgrade
Been human increase droprate/allow to be invaded by npc's and players and allow to summon npc's and players (you'll have a option in the bonfire)
Is very hard to organically finish the npc's quest not that it matters much
That boar could also be backstabbed in the unarmored butt, but he also has very high resistance to slash, but is kinda weak to fire also, weakness are very fun to use in this game
Search how you enter the DLC when you want (need to be before the last boss)
You can use your humanity (that can either be farmed by killing a bunch enemies or using a "humanity", it'll increase a number left of your healthbar) if you kindle your bonfire it increase the number of flaks you have when you sit there
Stamina managment is way more important, two attacks or three attacks can easily take all your stamina, and recovery is slow especially if you dont stop using it until it charges, because of that a slower approach more methodical is morw suited, and because those reasons and that endurance increases weigh it's a pretty good status
The upgrade weapon system is insane unless you want the basic normal upgrade, if you want anything else search it (which you kinda have a few choices, all interessing)
Hollow happens when those undying have no more purpouse and lack any will anymore to keep going with no object anymore, many go hollow when they achieve their goals because they lose their purpouse
Every build is quite viable, str/dex/int/faith
Good luck my man, some stuffs are a bit outdated but still a great as fuck game
the gargoyles have extra spawns on ds2... but its an optional boss and its harder than all the other base game bosses not through being a challenge but just from being cheesy, its a dps race basically and you will understand what that means when you reach the 4 kings in ds1.
The ranting at the end was great 😂😂
It'll take a bit to get used to, but when unlocked you can roll in any direction you want
Also, ladder slides are done by double tapping the button instead of holding it in this game
Hollowing is losing your dark soul by dying repeatedly and giving up on what gives you purpose.
Cant wait to watch this
Definitely go for the zweihander. It's found in the cemetery with the skeletons by Firelink Shrine.
What's the piece called playing over the intro?
Yeah booooiii looking forward to this video series!!!
This game is much easier than other souls games
you can cut off the gorgoyle or the dragons tail, you have to bait the dragon first by waiting for him beside the wall to come down and then you can run at that bonfire.you need humanity for summons and to use reverse hollow after this, solaire's sign is near the entrance.you need to summon npcs to continue their quest line.andre was in this one and 2 is trash and they bringed him again in the 3rd lol,not the first familiar npc you will see
You question what is the event that finish the transformation into hollow, and that will be your lack of hope. When the force to continue is over, a cursed one become completely hollow. Mechanicaly, you can think that your character became hollow if you get frustrated and left the game in the middle
Oh… so I technically am hollow now lol…
I don't know if anyone's said it but in this one, you have to level up each bonfire individually. So choose wisely which ones you do, late game it shouldn't be too much of a worry. Also kicking is good for guard breaking in the beginning, once you get a big sword or hammer or whatever then you don't have to worry anymore lmao.
before the garegoyls is an elevator that brings you down if you time your jump corectly you can jump down on a roof platform from there on the right will be a group of chest on the ground ,
also there is a pilölar of a structure looking like a roof that goes over the water place in firelink climb the roof and gop to the crows nest an ballup inside it and stay balled up for 1 minute youll be transported somewhere else pick up a peculiar "toy"there and remember it later when you see a painting i the holy land, have fun and praise the sun \[T]/
Thanks so much brother!
Tip: if a Boss In This game has a tail you can likely cut it off for extra weapons as you found out. That warped axe ain’t too shabby early on.
if u go under the bridge u can cut off the dragons tale for a heavy sword. use bow and arrow to shoot the tale off of the dragon. and if u cut the gargoyle tale off u get a axe aalso
15:18 for a strength build, stamina and strength, so you can wield heavy weapons and armor and still roll, then vitality when you can.
Bet, thanks for all the info my guy!
Love the closing "...no." *click*
Cool new video ❤
20:10 THAAAAAAAT'S RIGHT! This fight is TWO gargoyles!
Phase two strat:
It could be easier if you keep the fight in far ends of arena. their fire attacks go in one direction when you do that but don't get yourself cornered
Use your shield my guy! The claymore is one of the best weapons in the game and you can get it from bridge with the dragon and itll rake you through the whole game. The Black Knight weapons, especially the halberd are all OP and even come with a +20% damage bonus to demons
As someone who beat this game too many times, my favorite weapon has to be the electric claymore. I highly recommend it :)
😝 Told ya don't start with DS3.
If you pick Firebombs and bomb the Asylum demon first try he drops his Demon Hammer.
the zweihander and uchigatana both are amazing weapons if you wanna try them
You gonna witness immaculate level design
zwrihander is one of the best weapons in the game and can be obtained from the graveyard, and if you're lucky enough to get a black knight weapon you're set for the rest of the game
So glad you kept on playing Dark Souls!
Here are some tips:
Here in dark Souls, the knight is quite heavy in Rowling , it’s better if u start with less armor (I recommend the helmet and the gloves cause once they are out your faster at Rowling) or you can travel along the map to find more items and go to the merchant (one of them is close to the bonfire before the Taurus demon)
About the gargoyles, you can use electric pine Wich is takes massive life to them and also summon solaire, to summon him you have to use the humanity and reverse the hallow on the bonfire, his summon will be close to the fog door.
That bit about the golden guy is actually clutch tho. Thanks so much for the help my guy!
Why you guys gotta spoil this stuff damn 😭😭
@@84rinne_moo it’s just for safety
When it comes to DSR, just think of it as physics matter. If the boss is right handed and holding his weapon in his right hand, if you dodge in the opposite direction, you’re less likely to take the damage. Also, dodging doesn’t make you immortal to damage, like in Elden Ring. You can’t phase through their weapon like you can in the newer titles. So you have to anticipate them swinging which is why the “long wind up times” are kind of a blessing. These mechanics is what makes the older titles “harder”.
You can absolutely roll through attacks
YOOO WTF? This guy ain't stupid! First time playing dark souls and he know what hes doing. I be damned!
12:20 that's a stagger. A stagger is when they flinch for a bit.
A stance break is for crit. Crit is called riposte btw.
Rainbow emoji
The more you knoe
If you see a boss with a long tail youcan probobly cut it for a secret weapon, includijg the gargoyles
Don't abandon the broken sword, it may come in handy at some time.
11:36 you can, it's a different input. Hold the Run Button, IIRC
YOU CAN SLIDE DOWN LADDERS IN DS1, IT'S JUST BUGGED WITH CONTROLLERS. HOLD SPACE ON THE KEYBOARD AND IT WILL WORK. DISCOVERED THAT 2 DAYS AGO.
Thought this was a zanny video because of the thumbnail
Did you notice Solaire has the same voice actor as Alfred in Bloodborne?
DS1 is humbling after playing Elden ring, DS3 and Bloodborne. DS1 took me a hot minute to finish, but it’s so good. Beware of the run backs.
You can slide down ladders but you have to let go of movement and then either press or hold B, can't quite remember.
Crestfallen dude is annoying but he is usually there for lore dumping at the beginning. Wont affect your playthrough but he is the gossip guy. he kinda relays little tid bits and changes that occur around firelink shrine
Zweihander slaps too ngl its were those skeletons were and I think it needs 18 str and 10 dex to wield
for Gargoyels I recommend big sword go bonk
Use pine resin against gargoyles, u can 4 hit them
IT HAS BEGUN!!!!
aight, so, there generally are 4 weapons that most first timers end up using for the entire run. Thers the Zweihander, ultra greatsword, closest thing u gonna get to yout guts greatsword, can be found jn the graveyard you went to in the start
The Claymore, little brother of the Zwei, not quite as long, not quite as powerfull but faster with a very nice moveset, can be found on the dragon bridge
The Halberd, bit wierd moveset to get into but pretty darn strong and the attack range can be a game changer, found on the staires just behind the armored boar
and lastly the Uchigatana, Katana, bleed, dex weapon, dmg kinda underwhelming but lotta fun to play, droped after killing a merchant in undead burg, near the first bonfire
Also, if you ever kill a Black Knight and get his weapon droped (20% chance, tgey are non respawning), pls do yourself a favor and DONT use em, even if u think they look sick and u like tgeir moveset. those wepons are insanely broken in dark souls 1 and will take away some of the best moments just by making the game too easy
also, gratz square for winning the dark souls initiation rite, 95% of all first timers attck the NPC in firelink coz hes a douche, more then half of those cant deal with him and start a new character immedeantly. i know you have the prior experience backing u up but still congratulations for joining the cool kids club
Longsword is also pretty popular for ppl who like that playstyle
Thank you my guy!
@squareface8572 you are welcome. Also, I should clarify that it is liquid humanity and being human that affect item discovery. Liquid humanity is the numbers in the circle, while being human has the circle glow white.
Being human also lets you talk to the guy at fire link who gave you the coin
If any boss has a tail keep attacking it til its cut up it give's items + weapons
If you hit a golden fog wall is a dead end until you pick a snake. The snake you pick determines the ending you get.
I think this is just gonna confuse them lol. First off that’s not true cause that’s not what determines the ending. And secondly it’s doubtful a player on a blind play through would end up being able to have that choice.
@@84rinne_mooDid bro just called the primordial serpent a snake?
@@nayyarrashid4661 lol fr 😆
There are a lot of people out there who say that u should experience your first dark souls run blind, not knowing anything about the game or its content. I think otherwise, the game should come with an instruction guide. I know so many people who got stuck at some point and gave up because of that and that's sad because it's a great game and one of my all times favourites.
why dont u go with lighter armour for better rolling as your prob not used to the heavy / med roll time in ds1
I did, but my problem is how you are limited to just rolling in 4 directions
@@TrueSquareFace the beauty of older games lol
the roll is very importat in this game.
try fast roll.
mid and fat are bad unless you put all your levels in vit and have an armor set with high poise
MY GUY IS ON DS1 🎉
zweihander is a str weapon and one of the best weapons, its even better than elden ring zweihander
Black knight great sword is a good one if you get it
Zweihander, butcher knife and dragon greatsword are good to get for strength
My friend use the tips you get here in the comments you will notice that many bosses become easier when you have a summon with you like the gargoyles turn you self human by burning a Humanity at the bonfire and work you way up to the boss am solaris sign will be there and use that because it will help alot but quick tip on the bridge with the dragon you have claymore and another tip you can go under the bridge with the dragon and use a Bow and shoot the tail after a while you will cut it off and reward for that is a pretty good sword early game peace out
Thanks for the info my guy!
Also you can dodge most attack just by footwork )
There is something wrong if you can only roll in 4-ways.
Boss weapons from boss souls are kinda tricky here. You need a lvl +10 specific item and ascend it by using boss souls at blacksmith in Anor-Londo. For instance Quelaag soul is for katana and curved sword.
my man will you play dark souls 2 aswell if you havent done so already ?
100%
Use humanity and in bonfire go on reverse hollowing and you go human when you are human you can see summen sign near fall gate
Broken sword: Best weapon in the game. Even Guts had his sword broken during the Eclipse and he didn't faze.
That’s actually a great point
