Yup, I resolved to only use it with Rhino, and while jumping away from the target. Iron skin saved me from any screw ups with that plan. I never actually killed myself with it, but I came close more than a few times.
The fact that this was one of my starting weapons..... makes me feel awkward

Anyone else remember when DE significantly lowered all launcher secondaries base ammo count? I do. Edit: Repeat history.
Update 22.12 (February 9th, 2018) Lowered Max ammo to 18, from 30.
Update 32 (September 7th, 2022) Lowered Ammo Pickup to 3, from 20.
Gotta love how so many old, gimmicky weapons continuously get beat down over time into mediocrity. Before update 32, you would pick up 20 ammo and waste 17, but you could probably always expect be topped off. Now, you can hardly use it.

Nah dude. Angstrum is the worst. Coz you can pretend that you have a snowball gun and have fun being a 5 year old with the stug. You will only knock yourself over with the angstrum.
I remember leveling it and the Prisma version before the self-damage changes and dubbed both the Suicide weapons.
The Prisma Angstrum have better crit, and a faster charge and reload time.
Still awkward to use, but the damage are very high.
I remember using this when it came out to spam some defense missions back when enemies couldn't get to higher ground to you. I would just climb up somewhere and shoot rockets down.
Angstrum is the Secondary I have used most. It has massive damage if you mod it right and while the self-stagger (previously self-damage) radius is huge, I have rarely been hit by it and I only killed myself with it twice when self-damage was a thing. That being said, I am the exact sort of person who would use the Angstrum and Prisma Angstrum and manage to make it work beautifully.
And the most cursed thing about the Angstrums is that it uses sniper ammo, and the 21 round reserve also applies to your primary if you have one equipped that uses sniper ammo. So you have 21 rounds of reserve ammo for your primary special and secondary combined.
I wish the angstrums had more options or tweaks. Something as simple as a "preloaded" firemode where you are limited to single rounds but they fire instantly and a lockon with either an augment or a firemode where you hold down the firebutton to select as many targets as you have rounds in the magazine and just let it do it's thing.

I think angstrum should have more impactful sound as well as more explosion radius maybe, just a bit. Also the firing is akward as you said so maybe instead if you want to shoot one " rocket " you click once and if you want to charge it you charge the shot and the more you charge it the more ammo of magazine gets drained, the more rockets you shoot at the end, when you stop the charge and let it all out(or give it higher mag size and give it 3.0 multishot at base) that would also mean it would need more ammo reserves in general, but I think it would be really good for it. The prisma version has pretty nice stats and high riven dispo, just would be nice if it would be more convient and fun to use.
Yes It could kill you when firing. It used to be used with cold and nock-down from explosive damage to CC when low on energy. Now from the damage rework got nurfed into nothing.
I've used it against corpus on occasion. I kinda enjoy it.
This might be a bug but I think the stat screen shows the stats of when you shoot your whole magazine, hence why it feels underwhelming in practice.
Normal may be bad but the prisma variant is great. Got way too many forma on mine but for anything in normal starchart I can clear the whole room with one shot.
Use this on Zephyr. Specifically, the Prisma variant, with a Riven.
Using it's crazy spread when blasting from the air is fun.

I remember the days when self-damage was a thing. This gun killed me more times than the enemies because i just so happen to smack 1 rocket into the ground near me, or the enemy simply ran too close to me when i fired it. Those were the days. XD
I used to really love this weapon until I got an AkStiletto. Then the Catchmoon Kitgun came out and blew them both away. Even the Kulstar and Prisma Angstrum couldn't beat the nerfed Catchmoon. Finally the Kuva Nukor appeared and stole everything's thunder. Even still... I have a soft spot in my heart for the Angstrums. Especially the Prisma one
The only weapon in the game that benefits from magazine capacity mods so you can load up more rockets

I would honestly like at least the prisma angastrum more if its accuracy wasn't the equivalent of trying to snipe with a sawn-off shotgun and if the damage was consistent enough to kill things above 30-40. Only reason why I skill use it is because of the hilarious amount of multishot I have on my riven. Which is about 300%, with the 180% you get from other mods is about 480% multishot and it's pretty fun to use. About as useful as a wet noodle past star chart but firing 12 rockets with a chance of a 13th is pretty amusing. I just wish it was more accurate, or at least maybe some kind of homing feature. I mean just with the standard multishot mods it shoots close to 7 rockets on charge. If they were homing accuracy wouldn't matter as much. Not to mention if they actually hit things at range with enough boom there would be many not shooting at you since they are too busy trying not to go spat.

How can you say this is one of the worst weapons in the game when the Plinx and the STUG exist?!
Plinx is okay-ish, and Stug is surprisingly okay, with the right amount of investment. But the Stug just looks bad, sounds bad, and feels clunky. The Plinx at least looks cool and sounds cool.
If I might make a counterpoint to this: Try slamming as high of a magazine size and multishot as you can, and grab your Mirage. You can nuke *entire rooms* with this.
I got the Angstrum when I was MR2, or shortly thereafter when I was able to get it. I upgraded it toe Prisma which fixed every minor issue I had with it, and every now and then I still bring it out even though I'm now MR 22.
Pretty much the only thing this weapon is good for is Mastery Rank fodder.

This is my favorite weapon. Forma the weapon as many times as you are able, get a good riven mod, at least 5 rounds in the magazine, lots of multi-shot, viral damage, max crit chance, high crit damage, and increased projectile velocity.
Use mirage with her extra 4 copies and have 5 Prisma Angstrums and it's a lot of fun. Everyone knows what the worst weapon in Warframe is and this ain't it.
The Riven Disposition is 5, making it have some of the most lethal riven mods in existence with high stat rolls. That will never change because people like you that hate weapons like this.
Get a riven mod and try it. If you hate the reload speed, you can always wait for a reload speed on a reroll of a riven mod.
My Prisms Angstrum would one-shot you if you have 700 shields with 700 health. If you have 1,000/1,000 it will 2 shot, and mine isn't even done yet.
With Mirage I one shot everything except max level bosses.
