Reba is so much nicer to Brock and Barbara Jean than most people would be in similar circumstances. When Barbara Jean is upset Reba tries to make her feel better as she did in Cheyenne's birthday episode and the ghost episode. She doesn't allow Kyra to disrespect Barbara Jean. She let Brock stay at her house when he had kidney stones. She didn't tell Brock about Barbara Jean's past affairs when she could have done so and possibly broken them up. She bought their house so they could still live in it. A few insults are minor compared to all the good things she has done for them.

I don't agree with Reba about letting a baby cry. I never did and my children were all able to eventually fall asleep on their own. They were very secure. I'm glad she finally changed her mind and realized that advice was not right for Cheyenne.

According to Texas laws Brock would have had to pay child support to Reba. However that amount would have decreased once Cheyenne married. It might have further decreased when Kyra moved in with him. ( I don't think that Brock would have made her pay child support to him. ) She also got 20% of his earnings from his dental practice as alimony. In reality that may not have covered all of her expenses. She would have to pay for at least her own medical insurance. She had to pay for gasoline and car maintenance, food, cleaning supplies, hygiene supplies, heat and electricity, credit card payments, clothing etc so it might not be unrealistic that she was low on money. She probably tended to overspend on things too.

I have never like Kyra. Her sarcasm was annoying in episode 1. Seven years later it is even worse.

She is sometimes very disrespectful to her mother. A good example is in the episode when Reba wanted to take her roller blading.

I don't like Reba Hart. The show and theme song make her sound all loving and caring, but you know, Brock should really report her for physicaI abu se. It defines her as a person.
