Cheers Folks, was nice to get a few to the net! 👊🏼👊🏼
Beatiful last Grayling of the day. A fish I've never tried to fish for yet. Glad to see you back. Loved the special effects with the drone footage half way through the video guys. 😀👍
Neil mate good to hear from you! Hope all is well your side!
Defiantly worth having a go for grayling... can be incredibly rewards but equally challenging! A full fly box is a must 😂 appreciate the support as always mate! 👊🏼👊🏼👊🏼
@@thecastawaycrew23 no problem. Thanks for the great videos 👍 We are all doing well here thanks. Hope all is with you guys too.
Good to see another vid up boys, those grayling are stunning fish and it must be hard work trying to find them in that coloured water.look forward to another episode soon 👍
Cheers Randall, was a tough day for sure but persistence paid off! Thank you for the support and tight lines! 👊🏼
nice video mate , well done on your PB ,keep it up .
Great one!
We've got some beasts in the Calder, way over 2lb! I've had some right fights with them haha
Awesome video, mate! Well done on that bar at the end! Gorgeous fish! I’ll watch a couple more videos now. Just subscribed! 🥳
Apex, absolute pleasure mate! Glad you enjoyed it, was tough but good day out! Typical of English winter fishing! Just subbed to your channel... awesome content fella! 👊🏼
Just found your channel, I caught my first Grayling about 4 weeks ago after watching IB and Andy vids aswell I was absolutely buzzing, I was shaking and my heart was racing it was great, had about 8 altogether since then aswell
Richard!!! Cheers for reaching out! There such a phenomenal fish to catch! Top stuff on your first grayling! Here’s to many more 🍻
@@thecastawaycrew23 took a long time to catch one as they're quite tricky, caught them all down deep on nymphs, initially I thought it was a brownie as that's what I always catch where I normally go then I saw a silver flash and presumed it was a rainbow then I saw the big fin come out the water and that's when I realized what I had and just kept saying stay on stay on, my favourite looking fish I love the fins and tail
Sick channel man!! Great stuff 💪✌👍
Cheers M Col !!!! Chuffed your enjoying the contact!!! Tight lines matey
nice looking fish great spot
Thanks mate! Was a tough but rewarding day! 👊🏼👊🏼
Fun session! Love the drone shots!
Thank you buddy! Appreciate it! Was quite scary getting it up with the sporadic rain 😬
@@thecastawaycrew23 You are one hell of a pilot then!! Respect!
Hahaha blind luck I would call it! 😜👊🏼
Loved that last fish. Nice fin and grin. Recently subscribed. Keep up the great work, and best of success with the new job! Tight lines
Hi Rob, thank you for the support and subscription! The grin does say it all! Allot of work for that one 😅! Tight lines mate
awesome video guys i'll be sure to subscribe and keep an eye out for the next!
Cheers Gwilym appreciate the sub!!!! Tight lines 👍🏼
Nice river Nugs
Fished the Frome a couple of times in winter. That was good fishing with water that high, normally you need to trot to get to them that low down on the Frome. If you get the chance John Aplin's section, the Dairy House beat is pretty magical. Very pretty and is pure chalk stream. Looking forward to my own day on the Test at Testcombe in a weeks time.
It was a seriously tough ask getting the flies to get down deep enough, I was using two 4mm beads and that a hell of lot! It worked but was tough going! Actually looking at John’s section now! Might plan a day there soon! Tight lines on the test Birdy and cheers for the support!
Not sure I'd call the Frome at West Stafford "pure chalk stream". Like the stretch being fished here, I think the water source is part chalk, part rain-fed surface water, which is why it colours up (and rises in height) so quickly during/after rain.
Well done find some Grays. I still want to target them when I can get to a river that has them.
Hi Eric, yes it was quite difficult with the conditions against us! We’re country are you based in? UK? Give me a shout I may be able to help! Cheers
@@thecastawaycrew23 I live in California which are abundant with Trout. I'll need to head further north to find some Graling. If I'm ever on your side of the pond, I'll take you up on that!
Good to hear of our videos making it over the other side of the pond! Sounds like a plan buddy, maybe we can trade a day in the rain targeting grayling for a day catching trout in the sun over your way 😜👊🏼
@@thecastawaycrew23 Deal 🤝
Nice one, very professional, certainly compared to my efforts at you tube fishing vids. Its good footage when you have to struggle and work hard for the fish!! 😊
David, thanks for getting in touch!! Thank you it’s much appreciated!! It’s seems to always be a bit of a struggle in the winter haha 😂 tight lines
Yes, winter is always a challenge, especially up here in the North where we have more disruption from the weather. I've always fancied a shot at the frome, after the trout season.
I'm doing ametuer vids on various branches of fly fishing, trout, sea trout, salmon, grayling, pike etc in my local area, and recently traditional coarse fishing with centrepin etc on my channel if you care to check me out. Soul trader 57, music in there too! Cheers, tight lines
Yes I can imagine, if your down this way give us a shout!
Will check out your channel, appreciate you getting in touch matey! Tight lines 👊🏼👊🏼👊🏼
Nice video guys, we where on the Frome at the end of October, should have been for 3 days, but 50+ mile winds and none stop vertical rain, cut short the trip. Back again for 2 days later this month, hopefully with better weather
Which beat where you fishing? We fished 1&2, landed a few chunks and lost a real big lady at the net, short handled net high bank didn’t help.
Hi Peter, winter fishing can be seriously temperamental... We have been rained off several times too... hopefully get some breaks in the weather soon to get back out!
We fished beat 5-6... very fishy bit of river but just didn’t manage to target them the way we liked!
How big was the one you lost?
@@thecastawaycrew23 A pal had a 3lb 14oz 2 weeks previous out of the same spot, I estimate the one I lost was 3lb, just couldn’t stretch far enough to get it in the net. We looked at the bottom beats from Wool bridge, looks good, but the banks look more open than further up and not quite as interesting.
Bloody ell! Yeah I’m keen to try the top beats! Would you recommend us having a go at beat 1-2 ?
@@thecastawaycrew23 we’ve booked 1&2 and 3&4 for our next trip, some really nice runs and a few deep pools.
Get my Grayling fix tomorrow on the River Dove, and the Derbyshire Wye at the weekend after that elusive 3lb Peak District lady 👍
Hmmmm might have to investigate those beats next though! Think we might head down to the dairy house this weekend!
Tight likes Peter! Keep us posted on your session !
Where are you from in South Africa man?
Hi Gareth,
I’m actually from Kenya, are you South African?
@@thecastawaycrew23 im originally from SA, living in Scotland now. Really enjoying the videos man.
Ahhh good to meet a fellow from the continent! Well Scotland’s not a bad place to be if your like fly fishing aye 😂!
Thank you Gareth we’re super chuffed you do, good to hear feedback! Keep us posted on any fishing adventures!
