HDZero and HappyModel had a Mobula 7 baby and it screams! // FPV tiny whoop review // BaconNinjaFPV

  • Is it possible to fly with an HD FPV feed on a 75mm tiny whoop frame? Well it is now with the HappyModel Mobula 7 HDZero edition! This little whoop packs in a digital VTX along side plenty of flight performance, but we still need to find out if it is any good. We will take a look at all of the important specs on this baby drone, do a little flying indoors, and take it outside to see how it handles. Could this be the micro digital FPV dream you have been waiting for?

    I have found that using a thrust linear value of 25 made a NIGHT and DAY difference to low throttle instability and just general handling of wind outside. Give it a shot!

      It is pretty impressive for the size! What is even more crazy is that they have a 1.5g camera in the works which retains almost all of the image quality for use with the Whoop lite board. That thing is going to make for some insane micro builds!

    Had the same issue with the props. They crack at the hubs or shatter easily. Currently using the gemfan triblades which seem fine so far. Also going to change the canopy because I get jello when flying outside.

    I was just debating if I should put my spare HDZero whoop board in my 3" analog cinewhoop. I intend to use this whoop for some indoor commercial cinema and was concerned how well it would penetrate through walls. Looks like it does great!

    • @BaconNinjaFPV
      @BaconNinjaFPV  Před 2 lety +1

      I plan on doing the same thing with my CineRace20! I think the whoop board is perfectly fine for wall penetration at 200mw as long as those walls aren't made of fresh concrete or anything with too much moisture. For the indoor run in this video I was flying on R1 as well, so it handled wifi hopping just fine.

      @@BaconNinjaFPV Conversion done! Gotta love that digital HDZero image! I have always flown on R8, but from what I hear HDZero is better tuned for R1? Going to switch to it for HDZero. Great Info, thanks!

      @@RebelGoatFPV You sure can't beat it for the weight! I run all of my HDZ on R1 just because the Freestyle VTX does best on that channel, but I don't feel like fiddling with changing channels on different quads so I just go with it. lol

    I ordered parts to make my own moblite7.. with elrs24 400mw vtx board. when HDzero ultralight vtx comes out im add that. i picked low kV 14k so i can run 2S if i want & it will be ridiculous outside

      @BaconNinjaFPV  Před 2 lety +1

      I think i am going to have a hard time flying 1S whoops after this one. Maybe if I build something like you did on a 65mm with the 1S HDZ board I could be convinced, lol. I am in the Texas panhandle. It's all flat farm land around the city and the dirt wind combination is a daily occurrence. The town I live in is literally rated the windiest city in America, lol.

    hi,Question for you did you know if we can have a receiver that conect to a computer for the digital i know about the analog one
    im on my way to buy a new Drone and i want it digital but im not ready for the headset itself...

    • @BaconNinjaFPV
      @BaconNinjaFPV  Před 2 lety +1

      So there are a few ways to look at this when it comes to digital FPV. If you are talking about HDZero, then you would want to connect the VRX to a monitor capable of HDMI input and that should get you going. There are some other options for digital out there though, and they do offer some features like USB out to HDMI or to your phone. In those instances, I think there may be too much latency to fly with but they do exist.

    Hello sir,
    Can I use my emax goggles to fly this hdzero quad or do I need hd capable googles to fly this quad??

    • @BaconNinjaFPV
      @BaconNinjaFPV  Před 2 lety +1

      Unfortunately no, those won't work :( you will need goggles with an HDMI in port which support 720p resolution minimum. Once you have that, you will also need an HDZero VRX which attaches to your goggles and accepts the digital feed. HDZero will be coming out with their own goggles before the end of the year which have everything you need built in and can be made to accept analog quads as well. Waiting might be the best option unfortunately since right now is a tough time for goggle upgrades due to all of the new options coming out.

    My impression from the spec was the fc is 4s capable, its just the motors that can only go to 3s?

    • @BaconNinjaFPV
      @BaconNinjaFPV  Před 2 lety

      Yes, I believe that is indeed the case. Other than the motors limiting the voltage, I would say that the ability to actually carry the battery is the next largest limitation. I can't think of any 4s packs that would fit on this frame, and even if you could get one in there somehow, the weight would really impact the flight performance. If I were looking to go 4s for mostly park or yard flying, I would take a hard look at the Crux3 HDZero and probably go that direction if I wanted to stick to a bind and fly.

    • @dirtymcstinky1656
      @dirtymcstinky1656 Před 2 lety +1

      @@BaconNinjaFPV Thanks for confirming. I love mine but I am thinking about putting the fc and vtx in a 4" frame and swap the motors out with something more suited. I guess it would essentially be the crux35 tho! Im justing holding out for the whoop vtx!

    • @BaconNinjaFPV
      @BaconNinjaFPV  Před 2 lety

      @@dirtymcstinky1656 it would be a nice little build for sure! I am not a huge fan of the Crux frame since it is a single bottom plate...so building it yourself would at least give you some options there. I can't wait for the new VTX either. So many builds with it on my mind lately.
