Hey, you should check out the format of ranked roulette that harstem a large StarCraft creator does. Playing against someone and talking shit really plays up the drama and makes for better content.
Next time you do this, you should score it like golf in the sense that you earn a point for each rank you are away from the right answer! The lower the better!
I began guessing with two ranks instead of 1. Like "bronze or silver" or "bronze or iron" for example. It sort of makes "bronze" more than just "bronze" which could be good too I think
I myself only scored 7/20. It was seriously hard. I half-jokingly said that the first clip was Faker, but ultimately said Masters. Turns out it was actually Faker. A shame cause I am pretty sure I recently watched this game too
I love the idea of guessing the rank. I think that instead of random clips, people should submit clips from their own gameplay, that would be more interesting. Honestly though, GothamChess has a series of Guess the ELO that i like the format of. Could get some inspiration from that. Maybe watching a replay of entire games and pointing out key points or something that can give you a better idea of the accuracy of the rank.
I like it but sneaking in a few more pro clips would be fun. Or have whoever compiled them throw in some of your own clips so you have to guess when it was you
One division between ranks is consistency, which makes this challenge difficult. Sometimes a silver or below player will have the game of their life, sometimes a GM just isn't on it that day and runs it down. Compensating for days where you're not your best, and capitalizing on games where you are is a sort of x-factor that helps people rank up a lot.
Another huge factor is seeing mouse clicks and if he could see team CS as well would be a great hint. Its funny because I don't even remember bronze players trying to tower dive super hard back in the day but so much has changed
@@pyrojkl100% I am better than some of my friends at PvP but worse at CS'ing 3-4 times , it's not that I can't hit CS , I would rather just run it down for kills , this happens in BR's as well but there I can't really see the enemies on the map so the best next thing is to loot 😂😂😂 , majority of players will always like to learn the flashy stuff like combos tower diving , 1vs5 ing and then they don't even bother learning the macro and cs part of the game and then I realised Eternal Return has everything I ever wanted from LoL
The challenge is really easy if you cheat a bit by looking at the rest of the map + complete gamestate, instead of the play itself. For example, at 11:03 he guessed masters, but it was pretty obviously low elo from how Gragas was RECALLING instead of looking to make any sort of counterplay after seeing Jarvan bot, and Twitch also had 5 cs/min as an ADC, which is just awful. You can also see Darius relieving pressure for the Gangplank to... drop a ward? When he already sees Jarvan die bot lane?
Little late to the party, but on the first clip my thought was like "in what soloQ rank a random gank would evolve into a 5 man teamfight on the top lane (with 2 tps being used a the same time)?". I don't think I'ever seen something like that happen in a solo queue game lol.
You have ALWAYS been my favorite league player. Even through your worst. You were a go getter and pushed through your family trauma and issues. Always really admired your drive and passion. Thanks for the entertainment throughout the years and in the future to come. Much love bro
In clip 17 it says its me on Vayne LOL preciate the support. But I don't have an account with that name loool so idk if they messed up or wha but still crazy to see my name in ur vid BIG fan DL. ❤
Our perception of rank is significantly skewed since we started playing for more than a decade. Diamond player mechanics back then aren't as good as the diamond today. Some gold players probably have the same old diamond skill ceiling. A good example is watching old championships from season 1 until probably season 10. Then comparing it to today's standards. Even a flash + ability was considered "godlike" back in the day. Nowadays it's just normal.
Love to hear the insights in this, it would be cool to see an all ADC version, I feel like you have a keen eye for those mechanics in particular and are well articulated in your description/reasoning
What I learnt from this video: 1. Emerald is an invented rank to make Diamond feel better than they are 2. Master is the rank where Bronzes and Challengers collide 3. The last video where he guess gold and were challengers, he could know just by looking at the farm when the Nautilus pressed the tab (something they do all the time)
To be fair to liftlift, from that chart at the end of clip 3, it looks like with the rank distribution changes, an old high gold player would be in emerald now, so putting that Aatrox in gold would be spot on with the old model.
**spoilers** The first clip being Faker was so good. Also, Double chose a tough time to do this after Emerald has been added which would warp his feel for the ranks.
this seems like a super fun idea for videos. youtube just now recommending it a week late tho, hope u do more this is super hard to guess with these 20s clips. I did about as well as you did, i keep forgetting iron and emerald exist too
as a diamond player sometimes bronze players or silver will actually have good mechanics, but what keeps them in their elo is they have no idea on how to end games.
14:39 last I played ranked I was Bronze and when I play Naut I hook the far target as long as my main target is in line with them so yea your impression of low elo based on knowledge needs to go up cause so many more resources exist now. Also for context I watch pro more than I play so idk if that has any effect
something DL wasnt looking at was the CC stacking in the first clip. I'm not that good at league but you can see all the timing of cc esp the lulu that should have spoken high level play. also players who take calculated risks like re-engaging with low hp but having a goal as well as an exit plan
Challenger/pro players guessing elo are like billionaires guessing grocery prices. “I don’t think bronze players can spam the e that fast” yeah dude most bronze players probably aren’t capable of spam clicking a key
Bronze: Bottom 7.24% to Iron... Top 18.68% to Silver Silver: Top 54% to Gold... Gold: Top 86.67% to Plat+ (75.45% to plat; 11.21% to Emerald) 7.965%% of emerald is former gold Plat: Top 100% to Emerald+ (86.95% to Emerald; 13.05% to Diamond) Dia: Top 14.754% to Higher Ranks
Trust me there's gold players with really good mechanics. Most people just don't get more elo because of decision making or macro. But mechanic wise, how to space use spells or land skill shots they are good.
It would be more interesting to have multiple choice, for example you could have a clip of a mid laner playing in a funny way and you'd have to guess if it's a silver mid main or a GM jg onetrick off-role. Just guessing ranks isn't really possible, as even the best players will make boosted plays and lower-rank players aren't necessarily awful mechanically. Or you could have clips from pro streams mixed in with lower-rank plays and you have to guess if it's a pro or amateur.
i play normals with my friends who are roughly bronze-gold and most of them minus one really have quite good mechanics they just have 0 decision making ability and die to obvious ganks as well as taking fights they clearly shouldnt constantly. but sometimes they accident their way into a good situation and general play it well. its very hard to guess just naked looking at plays often. also usually legit 0 map awareness.
Watching this pretty much proves that the skill disparity between diamond + and everything else is night and day, basically iron thru emerald is garbage
I play loldle and rankdle quite often and i only got 5/20 lol, this is hard for sure. If there's a next episode of this, i will be submitting my own clips for sure
very first video react, there is a 3v3 bait top with both teleports coming in and the 5v5 front to back clean team fighting with all 10 players clicks per second at max dpi he says bronze. Oh chat thats faler? I was done with his guesses already lol
You can't really guess these 100% unless you watch the entire gameplay. Some are good mechanically with their mains because of playing thousands of games with those champs,it's just that they lack macro generally.

Just my 2 cents, really nice video. It was fun trying to guess ranks with you. I'm all for this kind of content!! I only guessed 2 out of 20 haha.
I myself only scored 7/20. It was seriously hard. I half-jokingly said that the first clip was Faker, but ultimately said Masters. Turns out it was actually Faker. A shame cause I am pretty sure I recently watched this game too
That was like 0.003 cents
if you guys want more let me know!
Anything you'd want changed?
aye if double is done with pro play, tell him to get on the variety grind PLEASE.

Very nice idea! Please keep them coming this was very fun. I also second the maybe sneak in your clip here and there and try to guess it
MORE. so fun to watch

a clip of 10 seconds doesnt change the matter that you are pisslow

Haha true
this was actually pretty funny.. more ad clips maybe. and in game records to see it live, not after the game would be pretty cool.

his brother has good kda irl

14:25 "Challanger" Lol.

LMAO
didn't expect to see the real fireware in the comments wtf im a big fan
I did a double take when I saw that thought it was about to be a crazy crossover

With how the LNG and WBG went, if you saw any of those games in a vacuum nameplates off, i dont think anyone would guess a professional player.
Rly fun video, keep it up!
Such a cool video DL, so funny to watch, please bring more of these!!
Please randomly shuffle doublelifts own play in this!!
Love to hear the insights in this, it would be cool to see an all ADC version, I feel like you have a keen eye for those mechanics in particular and are well articulated in your description/reasoning

Loved this content. It was hilarious. Loved the first clip.
No way my man is using Miles Davis - So What as the intro music. Song is a mega classic, thanks for all the amazing videos man!
And this is when we all realize that all of the ranks below Diamond are essentially the same and you're climb is 85% based on what team you get LOL
Someone's on a loss streak
More like the difference between Diamond and lower ranks probably has more to do with macro decisions and consistency than micro or reactions
That doesnt make any sense
Then how come as a Diamond player I can go bronze to plat with maybe 6 losses at most lol
@michaelb5632 yeah thats why he said 85% lol
these videos are fun! didn't pop up on my youtube feed though so it took me 6 days to add 1 to the view count
my dads UW professor an old Chinese man once said "partial credit!? partial credit?????? you miss minus sign space shuttle blow up!"
this seems like a super fun idea for videos. youtube just now recommending it a week late tho, hope u do more
this is super hard to guess with these 20s clips. I did about as well as you did, i keep forgetting iron and emerald exist too
LOL I liked this xD I like hearing you analyze what they do too and I never thought about the clicks ppl do
Thank you for including me in the video! I was surprised he actually got my rank :D

Part of it is that Bronze was worse when they were bad and new. Much worse.
That Owen Wilson WOOOOW in the 1st clip 🤣🤣
That ashe being plat is kinda crazy, i've been hardstuck emerald and was screaming silver the whole time
I didn't do much better. Biggest surprise for me was Clip 5. I really felt like all 3 on the red team were iron diving with no HP or wave.
I love watching Jay3 do this for overwatch too. Think its a fun Vid idea. You could do similar to Jay3 and make a poll for chat and compete with them?
I find it easier to watch the adc in every clip. Missing skillshots happens in any elo, but spacing universally improves pretty consistently.
Bronze: Bottom 7.24% to Iron... Top 18.68% to Silver
Silver: Top 54% to Gold...
Gold: Top 86.67% to Plat+ (75.45% to plat; 11.21% to Emerald)

Does anyone know the music playing in clip 7 it sounds so familiar
Keep this going
Loved this video, might have to try playing summoners rift again to submit a clip for the next one
This video just proves how varied the emerald rank is 😂 so many inters and some pop offs
This is kind of entertaining video, I would watch similar videos like that again. Also I was try guess it too while you guessing so it pretty fun.
The oblivion music in the background kills me
Trust me there's gold players with really good mechanics. Most people just don't get more elo because of decision making or macro. But mechanic wise, how to space use spells or land skill shots they are good.
Anyone noticed the first clip's name is Faker's real name "Lee Sang-Hyeok" ~> Koeyhgnas
It would be more interesting to have multiple choice, for example you could have a clip of a mid laner playing in a funny way and you'd have to guess if it's a silver mid main or a GM jg onetrick off-role. this is pretty good we need more videos like this great work
Interesting how excited he was to see Obama was an "NRG" Fan. Excited to have you back home at ex-clg Mr. Lift
When you hover this video it says "Hey guys deft here" which is funny ifykyk
good one. not a format i would watch every day but every now and then, sure!
I had a lot of fun watching this video. Very nice.
Number one thing to look for is locked vs unlocked camera. If they are playing unlocked they are almost instantly plat or higher
Love this video where could you send clips at?
Love this kind of content. Thanks
That challenger from clip 7 plays in my silver games
i play normals with my friends who are roughly bronze-gold and most of them minus one really have quite good mechanics they just have 0 decision making ability and die to obvious ganks as well as taking fights they clearly shouldnt constantly. but sometimes they accident their way into a good situation and general play it well. its very hard to guess just naked looking at plays often. also usually legit 0 map awareness.
Clip 6 was like: "yeah an aatrox abuser, silver mechanics so probably emerald" This champ is soooo elo inflating
Waiting for the day that Dlift reacts to those high elo super server ADCs.
Watching this pretty much proves that the skill disparity between diamond + and everything else is night and day, basically iron thru emerald is garbage
sick vid, love the pobelter era! c9 fan for a long time, imt as well!
hit the stride about half way through lol
"I'm actually going to minimize my chat so they don't influence me"
*Calls Faker diamond*
"IT WAS CHAT'S FAULT!"
I think the only thing this demonstrates is that everything below diamond is just depending on how much they play
This with Sneaky/Jankos would be hilarious
I’m over here like rooting for DL when he gets one right LOL so entertaining!!
The time he doesn't guess Diamond, it's diamond 😂😂😂
this was fun, you should do it again
Hope this does well. I'd love to see more!
NGL, I guessed the first clip correctly haha. I remember that play where Faker saved his zhonya
I love the idea Quadralift! Good video!
so what for the intro was fye
clutch league clips go so hard with undertale music
these are amazing keep em' coming!
More of this!
This was a good one
Great video, i knew that first clip was Faker 😂
need more of these
The reason why it's a lot easier to get the low elo clips wrong is because they're sending in their best clips, not their average clips.
Man i straight guess almost exact same as doublelift lol. Im that i affirm myself that emerald is a enigma, idk wtf goes on there
Love this! Please do more
I play loldle and rankdle quite often and i only got 5/20 lol, this is hard for sure. If there's a next episode of this, i will be submitting my own clips for sure
Loved this style of content! Would like to know if and where we could submit clips to? I have an older one I’d like to see if liftlift could guess 😅
Yup, I like this content. Good stuff
kind of blue in the background...good call bro
actually really fun piece of content!
Fantastic video! Loved it
Last guy is fiction on his Smurf account, he’s a challenger player who hit rank 13 NA
very first video react, there is a 3v3 bait top with both teleports coming in and the 5v5 front to back clean team fighting with all 10 players clicks per second at max dpi he says bronze. Oh chat thats faler? I was done with his guesses already lol
Fam, keep them coming
You should ask for lane phase clips because its basically impossible to tell when people send highlights/lowlights
the first clip i immediately knew it was faker. watched that game live it was nuts
great video, love the creative league content
clip 19 is fiction
You can't really guess these 100% unless you watch the entire gameplay. Some are good mechanically with their mains because of playing thousands of games with those champs,it's just that they lack macro generally.
I love how DL says he was getting influenced by chat on the first one even though the first 2 people said "pro LCK" and "its faker" lmao
back in my day bronze played like actual bronze with no hands or keyboard, now they play like s3 platinum if not higher.
More of this
yo where can i upload my epic bronze(diamond) outplays
