    in ARC packet it says to roll the patient towards you when positioning that patient, but in your video you rolled the patient away ?? What should I do, I'm confused, I'm taking my exam next week with ARC in MA. PLEASE see below instructions :
    10 Position yourself on the side of the bed to which the person is turning. Using proper body mechanics, place one hand on the person’s far shoulder, the other on her upper thigh. Roll the person toward you by transferring your wt from your front foot to your back foot. If able, have the client reach across and grab the side rail to assist.

      What I think is that you didn't know how to answer the question.........or your answer was wrong.
      I think the correct answer would be.........I cross legs and arms as a part of "the correct body mechanic" for both the resident and me........or in other words.......it facilitate the further movement.

    • @jaclynrodriguez6744
      @jaclynrodriguez6744 Před 8 lety +5

      +Gem Suyat You really only need to put on gloves if she is working with water or if the resident has any open cuts or sores , if you feel as if you are going to come into contact with body fluids then you may wear gloves. But for this skill you do not need them.

    • @vasjaruiz3766
      @vasjaruiz3766 Před 5 lety +3

      No, you don't. Positioning a patient in side lateral position is a clean skill unless the patient has lesions, scars, or skin irritation/rashes. That would be the time you would use gloves but if that isn't the case, gloves are not necessary.
