It’s better to cut it so it can be way healthier and fuller
My heat damage reverted back to normal with out cutting in a few months and so did my mom she said it's because we have fine hair 3b-4a

The trick seems to be using a thin comb to work it into the hair. Also doing the swoop in layers, that’s what I never did. I’m def gonna try this 🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽😅
