Micro Fishing for Jack Demspey Cichlids, Eastern Happy, Jaguar Guapote, and other fish in Florida

- Video of me micro fishing for Jack Dempsey cichlids, Eastern happy cichlids, Jaguar Guapote cichlids, Jewel cichlids, Mayan cichlids, and Coppernose bluegills in Florida. I used bread and mini trout magnets to catch these fish. I also caught Mozambique tilapias and other fish on this day, but I did not include them in this video. Anyone that loves colorful aquarium cichlids should try micro fishing for these beautiful fish. Florida has dozens of exotic species of fish across the state, so it is a fun challenge to catch as many species as you can for your Fishing Life List.
Jack Dempsey cichlids (Rocio octofasciata) are native to Mexico, Honduras, and other Central American countries. These fish are named after Jack Dempsey, who was a well known American professional boxer from the 1920's. Jack Dempseys are one of the most popular aquarium fish since they have beautiful colors and are easy to take care of.
Eastern happy cichlids (Astatotilapia calliptera) are also known as Thumbi East Island cichlids, Eastern Hap, Eastern river bream, Calliptera, and other names. Eastern Happy cichlids are one of the rarest of the established exotic fish in Florida. They are native to Lake Malawi and other bodies of water in Southeastern Africa.
Jaguar guapote cichlids (Parachromis managuensis) are also known as Jaguar cichlid, Managuense cichlid, Guapote tigre, and other names. They are native to Honduras, Nicaragua, and Costa Rica. Jaguar guapote are usually less than 10 inches long, and any jaguar guapote over 13 inches is a trophy sized Jaguar guapote cichlid.
Mayan cichlids (Cichlasoma urophthalmus) are also known as Atomic sunfish and Mexican mojarra. They are native to Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, and other Central American countries. Average Mayan cichlid is usually less than 10 inches long, and any Mayan cichlid over 11 inches is a trophy sized Mayan cichlid.
Jewel cichlids (Hemichromis letourneuxi) are native to Africa. These fish are popular aquarium fish since they have beautiful colors, do not grow big, and are one of the easiest cichlids to raise in a aquarium. Average size jewel cichlid is under 3 inches, and any jewel cichlid over 3 inches is a big jewel cichlid.
Coppernose bluegill (Lepomis macrochirus mystacalis) are also known as bream, brim, copper nose, and other names. They are a native species of sunfish in Florida. Bluegill are a popular gamefish that averages between 4-9 inches long. Any coppernose bluegill over 10 inches is a trophy sized bluegill in Florida. They have been introduced into California, Texas, and many other states. Bluegills have also been introduced into Spain, Japan, South Africa, Mexico, and other countries.

It would be crazy. I can't wait to see your next few posts. I'll have a video of mine up pretty soon as well.
Mainstream Angling That is one of the reasons why I am grateful for every fish that I catch. Most fishermen are too picky and only fish for a handful of species and look down on anyone fishing for something they do not like, I prefer to ignore those type of fishermen and not invite them fishing. Besides, I fish with my Wife who is the best fishing partner I ever had, she is very patient and has caught lots of nice fish as well.
Shark fishing is similar to catfishing, you can wait for hours, even days for a bite, but it is worth it since you always have a good chance at catching a shark that weighs several hundreds of pounds. There was a time in my life I was focused on shark fishing and I caught tiger, hammer, bull, lemon, blacktip, and other shark species. I caught all these sharks while standing up, not lying down on the beach floor, or on a chair, or using a fixed rod in a rod holder on the boat, this makes it too easy to catch a shark. I treated shark fishing like a workout, so I did not want my gear to do all the work, I wanted to be the one who reeled in the shark, grab it by the tail, and had photos taken of these sharks for my photo albums.
I released all the sharks I caught, with the exception of 2 blacktip sharks since they supposedly have good tasting meat, I did not like how they tasted, and prefer eating snapper over any shark. Besides sharks, like other large predatory salt water fish have high levels of methymercury, so it is best to release large predatory saltwater fish and keep smaller fish such as snappers if want to have a delicious meal. Please let me know if you have any questions about shark fishing, and I will help you with what I know. Sharks are fun and challenging fish to catch, but it is worth all the effort to catch these fish. Thank you for your support, I appreciate it! I will wait for your next fishing video.
