My fondest high school memories of Latifah (Dana) was cutting chemestry class in the bathroom with her and she would pound the beat on a bathroom door while rapping Sweet Tee.."The bass is thumpin, the party is jumpin..I got the rhymes to keep your body pumpin...To keep you rockin, that's what I intend ta...It's a number one on the Sweet Tee agenda..I'm gonna break it down, so you can see...The skillfull way I recite my poetry." I got to see her do her thing long before she ever touched a stage, lol. ❤ -Kariemah

@Lady_G007 if you had been our age and in NY/NJ and into hip hop during the late 80s to the mid 90s chances were you would have personally grown up with or went to school with a famous hip hop artists or two or three, lol. Hip hop was much more communial and "kumbaya" with black fists, beads, african patches, lots of energetic dancing, and popular rap from diverse genres. For instance, Video Music Box was everything back then and my favorite episode had Will Smith and KRS1 performing, with Kool Moe D headlining a show right before a Mike Tyson fight...diversified hip hop all on 1 show!
