I Bought the Cheapest ND2 MX-5 Sight Unseen and Road Tripped it 1500 Miles!

- After looking for an ND2 (2019+) MX-5 with the BBS/ Recaro package for 6 months, I finally found one at a Cadillac dealer in New Jersey. Not only is it low mile car, but it was $3,000 cheaper than the next cheapest listed in the USA!
With only a few pictures and a FaceTime video from the dealer, I flew in, picked up the car, and immediately headed out on a 1500 mi road trip. It made it, running flawlessly and managed 40mpg average.
Now that it's back home, we will take a walk around look at the car, take it for a drive, and then get it up on the lift for an oil change/ tire rotation/ inspection. - Auta a dopravní prostředky
Great buy! Hope it brings you lots of smiles every shift and turn!
Got my 2018 Club BBS Ricaro for a steal. Less than $25k and it was immaculate with 8k miles, and not a scratch on body or rims. I do t think the c Volkswagen dealership knew what it was.
That's awesome, good buy! This one was $23900 and after fees , taxes, blah blah blah it was right at $25k.
Nice car and well bought.
Amazing how the camera picks up the fender colour difference.
Yea, I have several smartphone photographs of the car and you can't see it and in person it's not perceptible. Just something with the GoPro lens/ color balance and being in direct sunlight.
Nice video! I’ve driven my 16 for 13 hrs, no Recaro seats, and did OK! Wouldn’t want to do it every day…😊
I put 130K miles in New England including salty winters and had virtually no rust by spraying "Fluid Film" on the undercarriage every fall (avoiding muffler 'cause it'll smell for a while). My NC and ND never had a fastener frozen from rust.
Shrewd negotiator. Ed Bolian would be proud.
Good buy!
I just bought a 2017 Club from Copart last month and just finished all the rrpair work to it. Excited to have it insoected by the state for road use.
Congrats! I've bid on dozens of cars this past year in Copart and IAAI and the prices are still ridiculous. Hopefully you got lucky!
Butter smooth shift gear ❤ . Manuel gearing, ❤️ ( Gen Z anti car jacking device)
I missed my 18 club. I’m in the market for 2023 club.
Mushy brake pedal feel indicates old brake fluid and air in the brake lines..full brake fluid replace should take care of it
aye another one with paint repairs. fun.
Should I stop over with the lower valance to repaint?? :-) Won't be blending soul red this time!
I love my 2021 jet black RF fun car they will be Classic small sport cars
look for the R dot sticker on the back right side of the hood to see if it was replaced. you know that car got an oem hood.
I looked back at the '16 rebuild video and the fender and hood don't have RDOT stickers. I'm sure it's OEM but just not sure if it's repaired/ repainted or new and repainted.
I know it might sound as an inappropriate question, but it's not since it's a public video about the subject of buying a car. What was the car price?
I think this is a perfectly valid question. I never comment on videos, but really, WHAT WAS THE POINT OF SAYING HE BOUGHT THE CHEAPEST ND MIATA IF HE DID NOT DISCLOSE THE PRICE?
Waste of time watching -unsubscribe
Nope, it's a reasonable question. Cheapest comparable car I could find at the time of purchase was $27k plus taxes/ fees/ etc. I paid $25k out the door for this one.
Oh no! I hope i can sleep tonight knowing I've lost one of my 10s of subscribers!
@@ironicallyengineered2486ida sold you my 2019 GT-S, RF, blue, with 42k for $25k… no accident.
You mentioned toy car and summer car a couple of times. And then when you drove it you for some strange reason had the roof up. That’s when you lost me. I’ve hade my MX5 NC for several years drive it all year when it’s cold I put the heater on 😂 maybe wheat a jacket. When the car is moving the roof is down. That’s what it’s made for. Kinda like buying a new Japanese knife and not cutting a tomato. I’ve now just ordered the ND3 it should arrive in Sydney in about 5 months, can’t wait
The cheapest would be a sport trim...
Sexy beautiful. It looks like a baby jaguar. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸ND2 perfect, Consumer reports loves this reliability .🇺🇸🇺🇸💪🏽
Without proof of correspondence, I am sure you didnt haggle them down.
Ahhhh, you got me. Nice detective work. 👍 I actually walked into the dealership and handed them a blank check and said, "Please write in whatever amount you want."
The cheapest MX-5 ND2s are in Copart lots.
Not anymore. I've bid on several this past year and people are still paying stupid money for salvage cars. Example, I bid on a '19 MX5 club BBS/Recaro that was hit hard in the front. It sold for 75% of clean title retail value... wrecked. Unless someone had a parts car to fix it there's no way someone made money on that car.
@@ironicallyengineered2486 That is one car. Copart has hundreds of these cars across the country with different types of damage.
@ag4allgood I think we have a Copart bot in here.
With the ever increasing fees and people running up the bids to ridiculous amounts, buying salvage is becoming a worse and worse value.
The example I gave was topic here. I've bid on a couple dozen cars, trucks, and SUVs this year through copart and iaai. The money doesn't work when you're starting only 25% or so under retail for just the wrecked car. Sure, 10+ year old cars you can get for relatively good values. But for late models you might as well shop around and buy something clean title.
