EASY Candle Magic 101 | The Basics

- You can manifest ANYTHING into your life with some colored candles, herbs, oils, and an intention. I break down everything you need to know from getting your candle, to anointing it, carving your intention in, and an easy spell for you to do! Anointing Oil recipe BELOW!

Anointing Oil RECIPES
Energizer
½ tablespoon of dried juniper berries
5 drops thyme oil
2 cups (480 ml) carrier oil
Stress Relief
5 drops peppermint oil
2 drops lavender oil
⅛ cup (30 ml) carrier oil
Good Night’s Sleep
5 drops lemon balm oil
5 drops ylang ylang oil
⅛ cup (30 ml) carrier oil
Supplies you need:
Mason jar with lid
Carrier oil
Essential oils / Herbs
When making with essential oils use ⅛ cup (30 ml) of carrier oil to 10 drops of essential oil.
When making with herbs use ½ cup (120 ml) of carrier oil instead of the ⅛ cup. The additional oil helps absorb the scent and oils of the herbs.
Carrier oils and essential oils are made from plants. Carrier oils are used to dilute essential oils and “carry” them to your skin. That’s because essential oils are potent and can cause irritation when applied directly to your skin. Make sure to research the carrier oil before using!
Carrier Oil Examples:
Coconut oil, Jojoba oil, Apricot Kernel oil, Sweet Almond oil, Olive oil, Argan oil, Rosehip oil, Black seed oil, Grape Seed oil, Avocado oil, Sunflower oil
Whenever possible, purchase organic, cold-pressed carrier oils from a manufacturer you trust. Although most carrier oils don’t cause an allergic reaction, you should always do a patch test prior to using them.
To perform a patch test: Add a small amount of carrier oil to the inside of your wrist or just below your ear.
Cover the oil with a bandage.
Check back on the area after 24 hours.
If irritation occurs, rinse thoroughly, and avoid future use.
If you’re allergic to tree nuts, you shouldn’t use oils derived from tree nuts. This includes sweet almond oil, argan oil, and apricot kernel oil.
STEPS
1. Clean jar inside and out
2. Place and measure ingredients
3. Add half the carrier oil
4. Add the essential oils/herbs
5. Add the remaining carrier oil
6. Cover the jar and shake vigorously, place in cool dark place.
7. Shake jar twice daily
8. After four weeks strain a small portion and test the scent
9. If it not strong enough return oil to the jar and add a few more drops of each essential oil
10. Shake twice daily
11. Wait two more weeks and repeat the test

Great video!! I find it interesting that blowing out birthday candles is considered magick (I think I heard that its a practice that actually dates back to the ancient Greeks??), but then the common advice in the witchy community is to never blow out a spell candle because it will blow the intention away. I don't have a snuffer, so I have always used my breath to blow out my candles - however, when I do it I always visualise that the act of blowing is purposely releasing my magickal intention out into the world, much like blowing out birthday candles releases a person's wish out into the world. For me, blowing out the candle(s) with purpose is an important part of my spells and rituals.
I don't think it really matters if a person chooses to snuff or to blow, as long as their method of choice is done safely, and aligns with their beliefs.
Love this, a form of magic we all partake in and didn't realize. Blowing with your magical intention is a great way to do it. I agree, it's up to the person, just really make it about your intention in whatever way you blow/snuff the candle
Hi, please forgive me if this question seems a bit silly I'm for lack of a better word a baby witch. So if I start a candle spell and am unable to burn the candle all at once if I snuff it out and then light again at a more appropriate time will it still work?

I've always done this; I think I heard early on that snuffing "snuffed" out the intent until I learned better! funny how that can go either way ❤

Do we need to let the candle sit for a day or two after anointing or can we burn right away?
I have a big question, yesterday I made a candle for a friend for him to have the best result into a problem
the candle burned without drops, and little very little wax was left.....what does that mean?

Some questions: Can you annoying with spices and herbs? Does it work? I just carve runes into candels and then let them burn lol
Ik that it’s lazy but I literally just carve runes onto candles sometimes using corresponding spices. I’m -retry new to this but it feels like smth I’ve had my whole life
The left over candle wax ? Just in the bin for any intention or in a flow of water like a river or flush if its for banishing?
I like to bury it, it works for all things. Just if it's banishment I wouldn't bury it on my property
What about using multiple colors together? Do you have any input on that?
Definitely, just make sure you look at the correspondences correlated to each colour so that you are bringing in the right energy for what you want. But you can definitely use multiple candles and colours

What length of candles is a good length for not waiting to long before snuff it out and not to short for this to be effective.
The candle you have in the video looks to be either 6" or 7".

For short rituals, I’ve used birthday candles. For long rituals, I may go with chime/ritual candles. They are about 4-5 inches long I think. I use the dollar tree candles in glass for alter candles I.e. meditation, tarot card pulls, etc. hope this helps! Blessed be.

The candle I'm using are 'wish' or spell candles, pretty standard smaller size, bigger than birthday candles but don't takea crazy amount of time to burn down. I got mine off of amazon in a big pack!
