This is gonna be _amazing!_ Unfortunately I'm working my way through the Kingdom Hearts games in as chronological in order as possible so it'd be quite awhile before I get to this content but I will thoroughly enjoy it when it's time. Y'know once other games stop destructing me.
Sora in Cutscene: Can just about use the Power of Waking and openly uses it wrong to do whatever he wants, can barely handle Terra-Nort and other major villains. Self-taught goof whose flying by the seat of his pants, has mercy for his enemies most of the time. Sora in Gameplay: A demigod at the least and a God of Annihilation at best, a grand wizard who surpasses Yen Sid and Merlin combined, master wielder capable of using several different keyblade forms at once and in a matter of milliseconds, may possibly be capable of destroying worlds with just one move. Has no mercy, for he has run out.
I disagree. KH3's gameplay displays very well Sora's playfulness. Also, It's not like he never gets serious during cutscenes. Remember the face he showed Yozora right before their fight? I'm going against this one cause I think KH is one of the better series in the sense of showing character and tone through gameplay.

@@Megasder Exactly remember how powerful the keyblade wielders are when you play as literally nuking their surroundings with Shotlocks and magic but in cutscenes they struggle against the weakest type of heartless not the demon tide just regular shadows like the ones from the dang tutorial.

Bahamut HAS been shown as being Capable of casting Zettaflare, as has a character in Bravely Default, and neither is left at deaths' door afterwards. However, it should be noted that Terraflare was used by the aforementioned Bahamut to wipe out the entirety of Eorza, and in Bravely Default, Zettaflare wiped out entire realities. So. Uh. Yeah. Not entirely sure the distinction matters.

Well just shows how far has Sora have come. Though to be fair it is more of a case of gameplay and story segregation. Because when Sora says he is "Ok with being a part of something bigger" and that his friends "Are my power" - he is not saying it metaphorically he MEANS it literally - he acknowledges that this is a secret of his success (to the point that he even questions if he is good enough himself in KH3)... I mean he is the only main KH character that CONSTANTLY uses Summons and in Big Hero 6 world they highlight how he is similar to Hiro - bringing out the best out of people around him. Just look at his final and secret boss fights (and some middle point fights in KH3) KH1 - Ansem VS Sora, Goofy and Donald. KH1 - Secret Boss - Xemnas VS Sora, Beast, Goofy and Donald. KH2 - Xemnas VS Sora and Riku. (Sora survival literally hinges on Riku being here... Or Xemnas would've ripped his heart out as there is no one to interrupt) KH2 - Lingering Will VS Sora, Goofy and Donald. DDD - Xemnas VS Sora (This ended VERY badly for Sora - and Xemnas was not even going for the kill. His objective was just to capture him.) KH3 - Xemnas, Young Xehanort and Ansem VS Sora, Riku and Mickey (we are talking about team members like Keyblade Master Riku who was able to 1vs1 Young Xehanort and Ansem and Keyblade Master Mickey who in 10 years trained so hard that he can hold off 13 Xehanort's Replicas alone - you can see it even in Trinity Limit - it is way bigger and stronger than the one Sora does with Donald and Goofy.) KH3 - X-Blade Xehanort vs Sora, Goofy and Donald. (without them to pull him back from the brink - Sora would've died from Xehanort's last attack) And you know what... this all... Makes Yozora fight even more epic. Because this fight finally puts Sora both gameplay AND story wise ALONE against a serious threat. Developers even go extra mile by pointing out that Sora has ZERO support from friends this time - i'm talking not even about physical presence - I'm talking about the fact that his misuse of Power of Waking cut off his ties to others (which is the main reason why no one can track him through his "connections") and now he got no "hearts" inside his own to get a power boost or get "protection" from them like when Ventus's Armor shielded his heart from getting lethal doses of Darkness poisoning in DDD. Nope.... This time it is not Sora "Reconnecting" with others to achieve victory... This time it is Sora fighting alone refusing to break his "Oath to return".

Truthfully everything you stated kinda goes against the fact that Sora is in fact only 16 years old no matter how we put it so regardless it wouldn’t be an expectation to triumph these threats like some knight in shining armor. He’s a kid. Plain and simple. BUT! i have to also say i understand your view on it because realistically speaking even tho he’s not supposed to be able to take these guys out with one hand the fact remains, he still beats them, with or without help so it isn’t crazy to hold him to some sort of growing standard. The weird thing is that in certain sequences/cutscenes connected to gameplay there are moments where his form change outfit is retained in certain scenes. I agree with you that I do hope they patch that in to work completely in all cutscenes at some point; whether it’s in a patch or next-gen release of the game.
I gotta say, Bury the Light perfectly synced up with the start of Yozora's fight after the musically silent cutscene has got to be some of the hypest shit I've ever seen. The start of the lyrics fit perfectly with Sora's situation at this point. Combined with amazing editing with that scene with Kairi, it's just so perfect. Bravo, man.
Its like 1.5 years later and the rapid zooming part at 6:00 still lives rent free in my head. I'll remember it randomly and have to come back here to watch it and laugh again.

God all of the musical edits in this video are spot on amazing. They really capture how the player feels in the moment. The Burn My Dread part with Mickey was just so epic and then how Sora's oath to Kairi was spliced in during the Yozora fight with Bury the Light in the background... masterful.
The all mighty vanitas one weakness a bear hug, I thought that scene was hilarious; with aqua fight I finished her by hitting her with the pirate ship back and forth

DDD - Xemnas VS Sora (This ended VERY badly for Sora - and Xemnas was
not even going for the kill. His objective was just to capture him.)
KH3 - Xemnas, Young Xehanort and Ansem VS Sora, Riku and Mickey (we are talking about team members like Keyblade Master Riku who was able to 1vs1 Young Xehanort and Ansem and Keyblade Master Mickey who in 10 years trained so hard that he can hold off 13 Xehanort's Replicas alone - you can see it even in Trinity Limit - it is way bigger and stronger than the one Sora does with Donald and Goofy.)
KH3 - X-Blade Xehanort vs Sora, Goofy and Donald. (without them to pull him back from the brink - Sora would've died from Xehanort's last attack)
And you know what... this all... Makes Yozora fight even more epic. Because this fight finally puts Sora both gameplay AND story wise ALONE against a serious threat. Developers even go extra mile by pointing out that Sora has ZERO support from friends this time - i'm talking not even about physical presence - I'm talking about the fact that his misuse of Power of Waking cut off his ties to others (which is the main reason why no one can track him through his "connections") and now he got no "hearts" inside his own to get a power boost or get "protection" from them like when Ventus's Armor shielded his heart from getting lethal doses of Darkness poisoning in DDD. Nope.... This time it is not Sora "Reconnecting" with others to achieve victory... This time it is Sora fighting alone refusing to break his "Oath to return".
Well he was always easy to cheese, even his hardest form in final xemnas, reflect became his massive kryptonite.

@@Ghostel3591 this is a really well put together statement I’ll tell you that. All my years in playing kingdom hearts i never actually put that into perspective, well, not to that extent at least. Truthfully everything you stated kinda goes against the fact that Sora is in fact only 16 years old no matter how we put it so regardless it wouldn’t be an expectation to triumph these threats like some knight in shining armor. He’s a kid. Plain and simple. BUT! i have to also say i understand your view on it because realistically speaking even tho he’s not supposed to be able to take these guys out with one hand the fact remains, he still beats them, with or without help so it isn’t crazy to hold him to some sort of growing standard. The man has gone up against the literal embodiment of darkness himself, succeeded, and still has these weird struggles at times so this does make for a great argument haha but for the KH communities sake lets just say this ones 50-50

The weird thing is that in certain sequences/cutscenes connected to gameplay there are moments where his form change outfit is retained in certain scenes. I agree with you that I do hope they patch that in to work completely in all cutscenes at some point; whether it’s in a patch or next-gen release of the game.

God all of the musical edits in this video are spot on amazing. They really capture how the player feels in the moment. The Burn My Dread part with Mickey was just so epic and then how Sora's oath to Kairi was spliced in during the Yozora fight with Bury the Light in the background... masterful.
