Zagato is turning 100 years old this Friday, and over the course of the past century the Milanese coachbuilder has been quite prolific-Andrea Zagato, current CEO and the third generation of the family to run the eponymous company, estimates the number of unique Zagato creations at 440. That’s a staggeringly large amount of highly bespoke works, with many of these designs being one-offs, created for customers, auto shows, racing teams, and the like.
As one might imagine, many of these cars end up lost to history as they are stored and forgotten, crashed, or morphed into something else. It would be nigh on impossible to recreate everything, but Zagato has chosen to retrace and reproduce a few of its early designs under a program it calls Sanction Lost. Petrolicious founder and CEO Afshin Behnia recently became an owner of one of these limited-run cars: the Porsche 356 Carrera Speedster Zagato featured in today’s film.

I never been a 356 fan, especially the coupes. BUT this one takes my breath away.
I had to watch this awesome film 3 times in a row, making sure I missed nothing.
Incredible filmography, awesome piece of car art and craftmanship to the finest details.

I feel like I became a fan of the 356's because of the love bug movies and the fact they used the flat 4 from a 356 for the races.
Also there's heritage in those old air cooled engines; look up the jay Leno's garage episode of the 356 Gmund coupe.
I do agree though honestly any of these old roadster Porsches are a gem. I've never seen a 550 in person, not even a potential replica. But I love discovering these cars even on CZcams.
There's just something about history, something about minimalism, something about just enough, something about bare basics that I can't get enough of. This was an incredible show to watch. Praise the Lord for dedicated people, individuals and companies who protect and treasure automotive history such as this. Long live Zagato, one of the automotive giants.

Because we are car enthusiasts, with the winding hill shots can the music be dialled back to a two out of five and the engine dialled upto three out of five.
We are watching this clip for the car experience not the music.
I get the music is intended to be theatrical but to dominate the exhaust sound tells me the musician/ audio tech is demanding attention.
Please remind them respectfully that this is about the car, and what a car.
