In this video, I am explaining methods to identify the sex of Princess Parrots. Princess parrots mature around 18 months or above. On maturing, Male parrots get some identical features than the female birds. @@JyjusHomeVideos I just got a bird yesterday, t they told me it was male but after watching this definitely think my bird is a female. What mainly do these birds eat.? I have two rainbow lorikeet birds they mainly have a nectar mix and fruit but I've never owned a Princess Parrot till yesterday. So far she's just had budgie mix.
@@iamahorsenut7541 Thank you for your time and support for my Channel. Princess parrot babies look similar to a female bird. They will show the male features only when they are around 18 to 20 months old.
They need to be fed seeds, fruits and greens. I buy small parrot mix for them. On top of the seed mix we can add fruits, leafy veggies and nuts. My birds love apples and fresh corns.
I have a couple of new videos on these parrots on this channel.
@@JyjusHomeVideos thanks kindly, the bird is still young not even a year old. So I have bought peach face seed and budgie seed and mixed together, tomorrow I'll go to the supermarket and get some veges.
@@iamahorsenut7541 He/she will love the veggies. When its the time when the wild grass goes to seeds, get them and feed the bird. These birds naturally live on the grass seeds etc.

This is helpful. I’ve been trying to determine if mine is a M or F but it’s hard without another of the opposite sex to compare to.
Mine has quite a bright orange Iris but perhaps only looks so bright because I don’t have another to compare it to. I think I must have a girl
Thank you for your sweet comments and support. As you mentioned in your comment, some of the features can be comparable. But the forth feature that is the spatula is unique to the mature male bird (over 1.5 to 2 years).

At what age can we see these differences?
We can see theses features start to appear after the first moulting which will take place around when the birds are one year old. Males will have all their identities by the time they are 14 -18 months old.

Do female Princess Parrots sing and dance? My "female" parrot is louder than the male and dances all the time.
My female is friendly compared to the male bird. Male is louder during the breeding season. Thank you for your time and support
