I kinda agree with you on the chat about Amapiano. 2019 Piano was and still is iconic but you need to listen to more Amapiano artists 🙂there’s Stokie, Jaivane, Mdu TRP, Sam Deep and many others, outside of Kabza, Phori and Kelvin. Tiktok really ruined the genre because now the whole genre is being judged based on music that’s released to suit the demands of tiktok and the international audience. Private school Piano is where it’s at🫶🏽
And the chakalaka slander?? Ngizokushaya shame😭😭 People prepare chakalaka differently so hopefully you’ll give it another try.

As for Americans reacting to South Africa I did pick up on that and most of their reactions are not genuine, most of them flooded the scene after your night out at Tanzania club.

Its not only Americans we had Africans too who never been to SA giving their opinion on SA and SAns reactions. • @baphithi
      @baphithi Před 6 měsíci +1

@@sthe_zar6341 why are we not thinking deeper about it vele?
Scandinavians, Italians, Germans, Japanese etc. will also mostly have limited options for Americans, simply because they only have to cater for their own people, who love their local food because their palate is used to it.
American has every culture represented in sufficient numbers for it to be viable for many of those cultures to influence the local palate, but ultimately black Americans will still return to their typical black American food which makes sense to them but maybe not so much to us.
It’s the trade off you make when you choose to live in a foreign country. Most of us adjust to what’s eaten wherever we are, some of us just don’t get used to American food when we live there.
Personally, I found indigenous German food closer to our traditional food in how they cooked it (nothing overdone) and loved eating it, as well as their version of the KFCs and McD’s.
Have never taken to American food at all, too artificial, which makes it hard for an American to adjust to real food. At some point their palate will crave the chemicals, excess sugar and salt and the preservatives.

But hey, not every spot hits the right notes. Chicken Lickin? My lady and SA squad are on board, but this food critic silently opts out.

Nah! We eat what we eat and we love it and do not desire US level of variety, nor do we need it. The US has every country’s culture represented in sufficient numbers for it to have access to the various cultures and foods. We are a much smaller country, recently emerged from a backward boerestat style country.
We are content with our food choices, as are Germans, Italians, Japanese, Koreans etc. content with theirs.
We cannot expect to satisfy the palate of people who eat just about everything all the time, including a lot of fake food and food that has a ton of sugar and a ton of chemicals.
People who love clean, real food without forced variety will be happy with the “limited” choices we have. They will adapt to our ways and our food and culture and live happily ever after.
      PS:
Most South Africans probably have no opinion on Chicken Licken, simply because they have not eaten it in decades. Coz we eat what we eat and food is not an adventure to the majority, just something we do to keep our bodies alive and functioning.

Amapiano, Gqom, 3 step, etc. are subgenres of house music. We first mastered traditional house music before we started creating subgenres. That's why you find it so good.

  • @kaybeeMoAfrika

I agree with most of your opinions. Tiktok has been both a blessing and a curse to amapiano. Great songs only trend for a week and are often replaced by a dance challenge. Amapiano artists feel the need to keep up with trends and I don't think it's necessarily a bad business decision. The problem is that the genre loses some quality as artists release multiple EPs per year. Soon, the genre will run out of ideas. They are already remaking old songs and most of them are a direct copy/paste with some drums but one might as well buy the cassettes and listen to the original songs.
No country on earth perfects house music like SA... zilch! As for Americans using SA for clout I don't see an issue with it. In the world we live in sometimes survival is of the fittest and adaptable. I don't care who reacts to SA but I am glad they are reacting because that is more power to SA. Sometimes we ask CZcamsrs to react to our stuff just like people asked Mansa to react to SA videos back then.

I won’t fault the current Amapiano though because one thing about SA. We move on quickly to another a genre. I won’t be surprised if another one is currently being cooked. The Click bait is definitely a chat for another Day 😅!

10:22 I agree 100%. We were doing house music before amaPiano. Amapiano got inspiration from house music hence it's fair to describe it as a sub genre of house. House music has always been the standard genre.

As far as groove goes,PTA and Joburg are the best, Cape town is good cause you'll feel familiar with it coming from USA, as for Amapiano, the best catalogue starts from when Kabza and Maphorisa dropped the "SCORPION KINGS"🤝

As a South African i will say the best gandhara music is Lekompo and Amampiano right now. Limpopo is take over check out Shebeshxt, Makhazi, King Monada, Master KG, Sho Madjozi i know i might be bit bias because all those artists i mentioned they are from Limpopo but look out for Shebeshxt the next big artist in South Africa.

As a Zulu woman I agree with Xhosa and Sotho women being beautiful, I'd say Tswana though instead of Sotho
Also the groove culture is too much, I don't drink, and I always have to answer why I don't drink alcohol it has become annoying honestly.
